When May gets here (hopefully around August 2010) she will be in South Bend, IN (right on the South Shore train line to Chicago.
Hello to all.

Wishing (& everyone else too),
The board does seem rather quite now. It seems as if we have gotten through most of the "that was amazingly fast" approvals and the rest of us have settled in for the average. At least that is how I feel as an early Feb filer. The late-middle and late Feb filers still have a chance at the "that was amazingly fast" approval.
Of course, that doesn't mean I don't check this and USCIS websites daily.
I like seeing our forum post on the first page
Fortunately, I get a distraction. I am going to see May next month.
Good luck everyone.

The judge has finally granted May's petition for Recognition of Foreign Divorce.
It took over 5 months from the last court date, 14 months total.

For what it's worth...
In April 2009, the Japanese Embassy in Manial stated they needed a letter from the US Embassy in Manila for the purpose of requesting a police clearence. When we went to the US Embassy in Manila they stated they only issue them one a Manila case # has been assigned. That only happens after they receive the packet.

Congrats on your NOA2!
Awesome!

I just spent 30 minutes on uscis.gov plugging in WAC number before and after mine. My preliminary results indicate they issued 1740 case numbers on Feb 2, 2010.

My next trip will be for 22 days so I went to the Philippine Consulate in Chicago to get it. Even cheaper than doing it in country.

Thanks for the cool list Sundrop

Congrats Bainbridge!
That is awesome!
Audy_Rob,
Oh, if only they did them first in first out. Wouldn't that be something!
All Feb Filers!!
Can't we all just go to sleep and wake up when our NOA2s have arrived?
I am going to see May in April (37 days away). I just came back from the Philippine Consulate in Chicago where I obtained MY extended stay visa. Of course I wish it was hers and not mine (he he he)

Gosh that's brave!
Having said that, saw a couple of January filers got their NOA2s yesterday
I'm trying hard not to get too excited at the prospect of hearing something in the next few weeks, rather than the next couple months lol.
Really? I wonder what countries they were from.
Welcome new Feb filers.

I am seeing in many folks timelines dates with "case touched", how do you know?
I am on the "Your Current Case Status for Form I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)" site and all I see is "Initial Review".
Nothing else.
Thanks

We have been waiting for the court to rule on Recognition of Foreign Divorce (from Japan in 2006). Filed Jan 2009, last hearing was in Sept 2009. Still waiting on the judge's ruling.
Decided to attempt a tourist visa in Dec 2009 (we thought she might have a chance to qualify) to which the CO interviewer said no. However, the interviewer did tell her what Steve posted here. So we filed in Feb 2010.
Of course, now there may be a CFO wrinkle.
One can only hope the judge will finally rule prior to her packet getting to the USEM.

Pinay Wife is correct. Even after a divorce is granted in Canada, she must file a case with Family Court of the Philippines to recognize the foreign divorce. It is not automatic.

Looking here (on people who are updating their timelines) NOA2s have arrived for some mid-Nov 2009 filers. Of course, this data is only as good as VJer's diligence.
Good luck one and all.

No other February CSC filers for Feb 2010?
Could anybody possibly transport a very small laptop to my wife in the Philippines from the U.S.?

The only problem with that is 1 of the usual security questions asked at the airport..."did anyone give you something to pack".
I had to ship a netbook last year to my fiance to just outside of Manila and UPS charged about $179 (still cheaper than buyer a laptop there). There was also a customs fee that she had to pay.
Good luck
