Oh My Goodness! Page 4? It has been this long since someone has posted.
More than likely the reason is many of us are already with our special someone.
For May and I, we are down to our final 7 days apart. She had a fun sayanora party but ended up getting sick (prayers please).
Nothing serious, it is just making her feel miserable.
Still have some cleaning to do on my end. Doesn't help that I will be working 10 hour days this week.
Congrats to those who have been approved since my last posting.

Another bit of advise is to call the credit card company before hand and let them know you will be buying an airline ticket in another country with your card so they just don't reject it immediately.
I was able to buy online from Cebu Pacific only once. The other times I have had to send the money to May and have her purchase the tickets.

I am not a fan of cooking or starting the laundry. Dishes, trash and folding/puting away of laundry I am OK with.
I am hoping for a partner in crime on general lawn work. General cleaning with both plan on pitching in.

Hey SunDrop,
Will you be posting our month's update soon?

I would agree to wait till the visa is in her hand. Ours took nearly 2 weeks to receive.

You will not need a red ribboned one for your submission packet to the USCIS.
You will need it to get your CEMAR annotated with the recognition of foreign divorce.
Because you will need an Annotated CEMAR in order to report your future marriage to the NSO.

Close but not Chicago, South Bend, IN which is about 1.5 hours away from downtown by South Shore train.
Good luck

Hooray!!
We are completely finsihed with the paperwork aspect of out K1 visa journey. From I-129 submission to the CFO Sticker. All we have to do now is wait the 32 days for May's flight (which will be more difficult than it sounds).
Thanks to all of those who have answered questions, asked questions I didn't but reaped the benefits of the answers, and those that gave words of encouragement and support.

P.S. At least we get a little rest before we start the whole cycle again for AOS. To quote an Elton John song,
In the circle of life
It's the wheel of fortune
It's the leap of faith
It's the band of hope
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle, the circle of life

I just purchased a ticket for May for $980 (Manila to Detroit using Delta) from Expedia.com. On Delta's website that flight was reporting at $1500.

I just bought May's ticket via Expedia.com
On Delta's website the ticket from Manila to Detroit was $1500. Via Expedia the exact same flight from Delta was $980.

May's interview was on 6/18/10 and she was required to present the DS-156, DS-156K and DS-157.
The inverviewing consular officer stated that all K1's must submit these forms instead of the DS-160.

This is what I got from Orbitz.com
"We're sorry, Orbitz does not support flights that originate from Manila, Philippines (Message 1031)."

Congrats!

We are almost at the "lock, stock and barrel" point where there is nothing to do but wait for the day of May's flight to arrive.
Her visa arrived yesterday. She goes to the DFA/CFO next week. All is running well.

P.S. Congrats to all of those approvals announced and good luck to those with upcoming interviews!

What do you know....
May told me yesterday if you don't pay attention to things you are waiting for they will come.
True to her words of wisdom, the USE delivered her visa to Air21 today.
Why didn't she say that earlier

Still watching the water pot. Waiting for signs of boiling............

That court is pretty slow. Even if they do take their time, May is in the process of getting the "Holy Grail" document (annotated CEMAR showing that she is free to marry) which she should have in a few weeks. No worries either way.
Waiting just stinks!
Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts.

Having trouble sleeping so I've been reading more.
Seems Document Verification is a thing of the past. It no longer applies.
Perhaps just busy as Tahoma suggests.
Still waiting patiently...

May had her interview on 6/18. When they asked for her Cenomar she said she had a CEMAR (which we are just finishing up that paperwork for annotating her recognition of foreign divorce). The CEMAR showed she was still married but we also provided the Japanese Divorce Decree (which was also included in our K1 package) and she gave them a photo copy(showed them the original too) of the Philippine Court's Ruling (certified from local civil registry) for Recognition of Foreign Divorce. The Consular Officer needed to check something if the paperwork May provided was good enough. He came back in the room, said it was good enough and told her she passed/will be getting the visa. She thanked him profusely to which his response was, "I know." He gave her the Pink slip and she paid her Air21 visa delivery fee.
It has been 6 working days since her interview (7 if you count her interview day). The Air21 tracking site reports the Way Bill number is not in their system. She called the tracking service and they confirmed it has not yet be given to them. I called the USE yesterday and they stated that the case is still with the consular officer and there is no decision recorded. They said the maximum review time is 6 weeks. If the consular officer needs more info the will either text, email or send a letter. If no futher items are needed the visa will be placed in the delivery service.
After some more reading here, either they are holding it for additional processing/review (random selection?) even though they already told her it was approved or I also found the Manila Embassy K1 Visa Guide (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/129059-manila-embassy-k1-visa-guide/) which talked about getting document verification for certain forms before hand (which we didn't). So it is possible that the Local Civil Registry's certification of the court ruling on Recognition of Foreign Divorce that she submitted is being verified by the USE.
Of course both of the scenerio's above are speculation. It could be that it is just taking more time due to the volume they are processing.
My point is make sure you read the Manila Embass K1 Guide in order to be prepared
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/129059-manila-embassy-k1-visa-guide/
I think it should be kept up to date and pinned on this forum!!
Waiting patiently...

Good luck Jason and Rose! I know the feeling all too well. May's interview was over a week ago.

That is what we did, had all of the DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157 and DS-160.
May's interview was on 6/18 and the USEM wanted the DS-156, DS-156K and DS-157. She was informed they are not accepting DS-160s for K1 applicants.
The DS-160 form is problematic to fill out. The site times out faster than what they say. My suggestion would be to use the save and download option on each screen. That way if it times out on you, you can upload the form and continue as opposed to starting over.

At May's interview they asked for a Cenomar (which she didn't have because she was married in the Philippines to a Japanese citizen and later divorced in Japan). She provided them with her Japanese Divorce decree and the Philippine Recognition of Foreign Divorce ruling. She was give her Visa.
