Thanks @hopephilly, and happy belated Ramadan to you! Those 18 hour fast are no joke!

So yeah I got an interview date on June 26th; and I'm really hoping to get oath scheduled shortly afterwards. If you are still around till then, I will surely let you know when my oath will take place.

Thanks for checking up on me, it really means a lot. You are so kind like always :)

Of course I check on you @Booze&Blues.

i never forget your support and your kindness towards me when I was stressed out before and after my interview .

i am very happy for you , now you wait for the happy moment 😉

ramadan is almost over lol then, planning on vacation to see my family  in case they do not come this year to the US as usual .

i suggest you to take someone with you at the ceremony  so you won’t feel lonely . Eat before you go because it might take long .

well, things are getting close to the end for may 2017 fillers , for most of us , the journey is over .

Again, congrats and have a great night 💐

    @cmellgren

Congratulations on your upcoming oath ceremony. I don't personally have experience as to whether we are able video tape the ceremony but I assume it is ok since I've seen a few on YouTube. But then again if yours will be a judicial ceremony it might be a bit different but you can always bring your phone then ask of it was ok to document your big day.

g'luck man and let us know how it goes. I think I want to do the same :)

    @susysteele :

I've received the same email then next morning a text message saying the same thing even though my removal of conditions application was already approved a year ago. Didn't know what to think of it except some communication malfunction I guess?

I don't know how many people had this notification pop up once more a year later after being already approved in 2017.

I'm just really hoping it won't mess up my upcoming naturalization interview.

    Oh my God ! @Booze&Blues

i am so so happy for you , congratulations , you deserve it after being patient for so long !!!!

i did not check the website since A while as we are fasting lol ( Ramadan ) but I thought about you today and I was like I need to check on my visa journey friend 😉

thanks God , your journey is almost over .

when is you oath ceremony ?

    Hello Group members,

I'm waiting since June 21st post-Biometric but no information over the email/text/call.

The fingerprint was done on 21st June 2017 but status still shows that "On June 7, 2017, we scheduled you for a fingerprint appointment and mailed you an appointment notice for Receipt Number NBC*XXXXXX" No updates after that.

    • May 30, 2017: Credit Card Charged
    • May 31, 2017: Rcvd text from USCIS: Your Case was received. Recipt# NBC*xxx
    • June 7, 2017, Received letter for fingerprint
    • June 21, 2017, appeared and fingerprint/bio completed.

Waiting for next update but no luck. Please guide...

    Thanks in advance.

    What field office ?

i had my fp/bio June 21 as well

    Congratulations @hopephilly

It must have been a great oath ceremony.

No more uscis nightmares for you

And I'm very happy for you!

On a different note, is anyone else suffering with this website endless malwares making it sometimes impossible to either read or post into it?

    Thank you very much @Booze&Blues

I had a good time after a long period of stress . I hope that you will have some news about your interview soon .

    done with uscis !

Thank you! Those few months have already gone by so I am now already able to apply under the 5-year rule. At this point it's just waiting on the notice to see the exact reason of why it was denied. But if it was because of marriage documents, I'll be sure to file immediately. Just hoping it was not due to the speeding ticket because it was reckless. It was brought down to a regular infraction so I assumed it didn't matter.

How long did that person have to wait to re-apply? Are you able to do it immediately?

The speedongbyoblet should not be an issue as long as you provide the proof of payment . They love that ( proof ! Lol )

my friend went back home for a few months ( I think 3 ) then came back and applied . About 4 months waiting time .

now he is happy . He had plenty of tragic tickets in court but always payed . It was not the issue .

    i hoops this helped .

also, do you pay your taxes as joint or single . This is very important .

Nope. I just checked to make sure. You simply need to have a Green Card and be married to a US Citizen for 3 years. Does not matter how you got that green card. You do not need to get the Green Card through marriage.

    Hi Nabeel,

you should wait a few months then apply under 5 years rules. I know someone who had a similar problem so he just applied again and got his citizenship .

good luck to you . Time is fast so be patient .

  8. Hey guys !

    @Booze&Blues

I had my oath ceremony today , it was a great experience and I enjoyed it .

we were 50 people taking the oath, we were first called by country ( of origin ) just to see how many people from different cultures were going to be citizens :)

it took about an hour and a half , took pictures with friends and families then every one left so quick hhhhhi .

I think we all wanted to be done with this long process so our journey with uscis would be finally over .

I wish to all the ones who are still waiting for the interview That they will get to this last step so you guys can relax like I will from today .

I also want to thank every one ( visajiurney family ) , wish you all the best 💐

have a good week end .

I was reading about delays in processing N-400 applications for people from majority muslim countries, and the resultant lawsuits filed by some of the people who have delayed. A program called CARRP (Controlled Application Review and Resolution Program)  is responsible for these delays.

I was also looking at another website where people list the timeline of their cases with their nationality, and found a pattern in the dates where people from muslim countries have much longer waiting time between doing the biometrics and receiving interview letter. I could be wrong and maybe this happens to other people too, but this is what I came out with anyway.

Being from Sudan I worry about this very much. Looking to hear from people from predominantly islamic countries who applied for citizenship in the last two years. Did you guys face any unusual delays? How long was it from application to interview? Appreciate any guidance

I do not think that the delays have something to do with the applicants origins .

some field offices are longer in processing applications  than others .

relax and be patient .every case is different , they have to check every backround of every body. Some people have some issues since they came to this country like trafic tickets, police arrests, divorce ...etc .

i think you should relax and be patient . I had my finger prints in June 2017 and my interview was in March 2018 . Now waiting for the oath ceremony letter . So it’s been a year since I sent my application and i am glad that it is moving to the last step of my journey .

i hope this helped and best of luck to you brother . Inshallah things will move positively for you .

Finally Did Oath on 3rd of May 2018

It took us 1 year minus 5 days. 360 days that is from the day we mailed the package

    Highlights of USCIS's impeccable performance

    1. Multiple requests to find out what was going on with the case (after it fell into past normal processing) were never returned
    2. Address change request over the phone -> Bungled it up. Updated mailing address instead of the physical address
    3. 2nd Attempt at correcting the address over the phone -> Very helpful sounding agent spends very patient 10 minutes taking all the new/old address information..... 3 weeks later get an email saying "Could not process as new address not provided" LOL
    4. Once Address was done correctly VIA ONLINE form (should have done this in the first place).......... Listen to this one
      1. Application was filed in El Paso
      2. All notices came to El Paso
      3. Interview took place in El Paso
      4. Oath? Lets send you over to OAKLAND. Yes I got my oath ceremony in Oakland, CA. Had to book a $650 RT ticket on 10 day notice.
      5. I was prepared to show up to oath and be told "Our bad, your certificate is not here".... BUT that did not happen and i'm a happy cookie now :)

    Congrats !
