  1. Hello!

Thanks for the response. It means a lot to know that somebody is on the same boat and is very sharing of such knowledge. I am quite anxious for the process to get done and over with.. Hopefully, it will be a positive outcome. I have filed mine on July 17, 2010. Goodluck to us!!!:-)

You should get yours approved before me because I filed mine on August 23. I can't wait for the NVC processing. I heard a lot of people were being delayed due to the sputum test process that St. Lukes in Manila is requiring for Filipinos. I just hope and pray for a smooth and faster processing, no delays please :)

Keep me posted if you will, you can email me your updates :)

  2. I just got an email from USCIS on my dad's case and the content goes;

"The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition."

WHAT WOULD DO THIS MEAN SUPPOSEDLY ON MY END? IS IT TIME TO CALL THE USCIS OR NVC TO GET MY DAD'S CASE NUMBER OR DOES IT MEAN I HAVE TO WAIT SOMETHING IN MAIL FOR THE DECISION? WILL THEY HAVE THE ASSIGN CASE NUMBER FROM THE LETTER ONCE APPROVED? OR I WILL HAVE TO CALL AND ASK THAT FROM THEM?

I FILED THE I-130 LAST JULY AND I AM ANTICIPATING FOR A DECISION-HOPEFULLY SOON. KINDLY HELP ME OUT ON WHAT TO DO AFTER RECEIVING THIS EMAIL NOTIFICATION.THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP!!

Hi, I got the same notice after my Mon's case was transferred from CSC to TSC last Nov 4. The notice just basically tells us that they are now actually reviewing the application, meaning an Adjudicator is already assigned to review it for either approval/RFE/denial. So, we just have to wait and hopefully get the positive approval in a couple weeks after this last notice.

  3. I still think they are referencing after the petition is approved and the priority date/interview and visa issuance. I think the "attorney" in the link did not read the question correctly. An approved petition is just a place in line leading to the visa issuance.

You already have a visa. I have a friend with same situation and they entered the U.S. one week after the petioner died. When they arrived here in the U.S., they contacted USCIS who advised them to provide affidavits from secondary sponsors. The reinstatement that was being talked to refers to an approved petition that is waiting for visa priority date. In your case, you have passed that stage and already have your visa. For your own peace of mind, call USCIS. Don't hire a lawyer who will suck money from you and will only tell you to reschedule your ticket and enter the U.S.

  4. thanks for the info but Im still a little confused...

it says that if NVC handles the case.. they will require all civil documents.. I can provide the originals for almost everything to NVC but the marriage and divorce certificates (i have them but i am afraid to lose them.. they were really hard to get)... and I am not sure if they will accept the copies for these documents.. my dad will take the originals to the interview..

Yes, just send copies of all your originals during the application process. Your dad will present the original documents during the interview.

  5. hello everyone, i hope all is well, i have a question and would like anyones opinion, especially someone who has done this, I want to send a laptop to bislig, well actually i wanted to bring it next visit, but i have been told lately that i am going to send it soon, (guess by who?) is it safe to do? will it make it to her? any opinions or suggestions are welcome, thanx everyone!

It should reach her but I suggest that she will pick it up from the shipping company like FEDEX or DHL's local office if it's near her. In this way, it is guaranteed that she is the one who will get it.

  6. Stepdaughter already in US but entered w/out inspection. I'm confused about how and when to leave US once they send interview date.

Do I need to pay for a waiver as penalty since she entered the US w/out inspection even if she's a minor?

Hi, if the child is already in the U.S. why are you filing through consular process? You should have filed the I-130 and the I-485 to adjust the child's status here in the U.S. She can't go back to her country because she will not be allowed to enter the U.S. again since she is technically under deportation. I am not sure how you can go through Consular procedure. I think the best way to go is to go ahead and file the I-485 so you don't have to go back to the country of origin for consular process. I suggest you speak to an immigration lawyer but don't get those $$$$ suckers. Find if there is a Catholic Charities organization near you and contact them.

  7. Hi,

I am sorry for your loos. Ok, let's make this clearer. You already have your passport visa stamped and were ready to enter the U.S. However, your petitioner passed away a couple of days after you got your visa. I believe you are fine and would have been alright to enter the U.S. But because you were an honest person, you wanted to made sure everything was OK before entering the country. USCIS's reinstatement of visa provision only applies IF and WHEN the petitioner dies after the petition was approved. Note, the "petition". Let's not be confused with the "petition" and the "visa". Our fellow VJayer here already have the visa stamped on his passport before the petitioner passed away. At any rate, I wish you good luck on your journey and post your update here when it becomes available.

  8. Hello everyone! I am a U.S. Citizen from the Philippines. I filed my I-130 for my Mom and is currently transferred to TSC from CSC last week. I am now planning to file more I-130 for my two married sisters. However, I am also thinking to just wait for my mother to come here as permanent resident and then she will be the petitioner for my two married sisters. I am wondering if there are VJyaers out there who had same dilema or situation as mine. I will appreciate if you will share how long it actually took to bring a sibling of a U.S.C. and or for a permanent resident mom to bring her married children here. Please advise. Thank you.

  9. Please someone update my profile. My Oath Ceremony is on January 28, 2010. Thank you!

Hi, I received my interview letter today scheduled on November 18. I had my Biometrics in Jacksonville and will have my interview in Jacksonville. I don't understand why you will have your interview in Atlanta. Anyway, I hope it will work out alright.

By the way, can somebody update the list with my interview scheduled on November 18 please. I don't want to mess up the list. Thank you.

  12. I filed my N-400 late August and got the receipt for it. Few days after I got the receipt, I got this in email

Application Type: N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION

Current Status: Request for Additional Evidence Sent

On September 3, 2009, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the requested information. This case will be in suspense until we receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, call 1-800-375-5283 to update your address.

What the heck are they asking for?

Same here got the same email early morning at 9/11 that uscis needs some more evidence. I am waiting for the mail in my mailbox so I will know what they need more.

I received my I-797 for Biometrics schedule today and it only says to appear for my photo taking and fingerprinting. However, when I checked my emails, I got the same email sent on Sept 3 requesting for additional evidence. I think the additional evidence that they are saying in the email is the Biometrics. No worries, no biggies.

  16. Hey Guys, I am back here again now that it's time for my N400. I am sending my application this weekend but forgot to order the Tax Return Transcript. My question is, does it have to be the Transcript or can I just send copies of my joint Income Tax Returns with W2's in the last three years? I really appreciate you input about this and if somebody did not submit the transcrip but just the regular tax returns, I would like to know if there was no problem and if you were approved.

    Thanks again.

  17. On May 5, I received email from CRIS stating that my case is now pending at CSC. I was hoping at least to hear something from USCIS after a couple weeks but guess what??? I got a letter from USCIS in the mail today. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! YOUR REQUEST FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE CONDITIONAL BASIS OF YOUR PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD HAS BEEN APPROVED. YOU SHOULD RECEIVE YOUR CARD WITHIN 60 DAYS....... The letter is showing that the date of decision was May 5, 2009, the date when I received the email from CRIS. I am so happy and thanks to the Almighty. To all of you who are still waiting, hang in there..... you will receive your soon.
