That's what the processing time for your Field Office is, I just received my letter for interview in Los Angeles and it was exactly as long as officially posted (7 months and 13 days).  I would not plan any travel in September until you are sure when that interview is scheduled, you can always change it tho!

I've been doing some digging ( never knew i could before ) i filled with the Arizona box and my office will be Indianapolis, IN seems there's a few other VJ'ers who filed in feb and had bio's in march and have interviews in April ( keeping fingers crossed ) :)

  2. got a email update this evening ( odd they all appear at the end of the working day).....

On March 20, 2017, we scheduled you for a fingerprint appointment and mailed you an appointment notice for Receipt Number xxxxxxxxx. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your appointment notice by April 19, 2017, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

    the forward momentum continues.....

Does this mean i can go to the link and go get fingerprinted early or should wait till i get the actual mail drop and try getting it done after that.?

  3. Updating for the group. to reflect updates from Investinmiami and Shaiz.

Hi All, I am planning to send N 400 later on in march . I have a little confusion do i have to send photographs with my N 400 application  because they have mentioned in their checklist that only if you reside outside usa please provide 2 photographs.

send them. in fact when you get them taken get two sets so you have some when you apply for your US passport. I went to my local walgreens to have them taken. and mentioned that i was applying for citizenship and they gave me the 2nd set for free :)

I sent our forms 3/6, via USPS Priority overnight, received by PO box in Dallas on 3/8. I included both mine and my husband's in same envelope with separate coversheets and checks /packages. We are both filing under 5 year rule. I have been a resident since 2008 , he has been here for more than 20 yrs.

I have to imagine that they get hundreds of these envelopes a day if not more. I would imagine it pretty much goes in a pile and then it gets sorted by state or however they have it divided among the agents. Also, it is now tax season so a lot of folks would use their returns to pay for this extra expense.

So my expectation is that they would get to our envelope sometimes early next week and cash the check.

We included the e-notification forms in there but realized we forgot to put our A# on them ! Out of the entire package, these were the only 2 pages that didn't have A#s ! they were thoroughly attached to each of the N-400 forms so hopefully they will not get missed.

As far as the 90 day rule, I would not think the closeness to the date matters - they will pull up the A# and the system will tell them if they can process or not. It is just a matter of the size of the pile we end up in

Good luck to all March filers !!

I was listening to NPR the other day, Historically only around 30% of Legal Permanent Residents have filed for Naturalization. But with the current shift in the attitude of US immigration,  there has been a massive increase in folks applying for citizenship. I can only imagine lead times and processing windows will increase in the months ahead.

  8. I sent my paperwork to the Arizona PO on March 3rd using plain old USPS but had it tracked for signature. It arrived on Monday 3/6 and was signed for at 12:36pm.

I did include the notification paperwork. My paper check was cashed only this morning (3/10) i have yet to receive any form of confirmation, email / SMS etc.

Only knew of the check being cashed by checking my online banking.

p.s. been here since October 2009 way past the 5 year rule i know but felt it was time to finish the process. hang in there.

  9. Hi there !  long time VJ member and to be honest we could not have got our K1 without the help of you guys. Finally decided to file my N-400.

I don't trust myself to update the line properly so if anyone could assist ?

Filed my N-400 on March 3rd. to Phoenix, AZ location

Arrived at 12:46pm Monday March 6th. I live in North Indiana I guess my only choice will be the Indianapolis office.

Paid via good old fashioned paper check, as of this time no notice that it has been cashed. :/ in hindsight I should have used my CC.

Good luck to everyone. Onward and upward !

  10. I really cannot stress to you that the visa process and obtaining the K1 is just the beginning of a very much longer process.

You would be forgiven to think that the marriage is the be-all-to-end-all in this process but if you feel that is the case, then you are very much mistaken.

As others have said, read the VJ guides, these are invaluable databases of information gained from many thousands of fellow visa applicants and know the steps you and your

partner need to take to ensure that you do not miss anything critical as once married there is the need to think about drivers licenses, work permits, obtaining SSN's, also

2yr green cards then the lifting of conditions and the common pitfalls that some have fallen into.

The emphasis is on you and your partner knowing and understanding this.

If you want to make your journey as easy as possible, never delay any part of this process till the last moment. It is stressful enough. Goodness knows we have just

come out the other end of the process we started with our K1 application back in 2008 with a shiny new 10 Year green card.

    Good Luck.

  11. Congrats!!! :)

And the good news keeps rolling in..

Wife just called me in the middle of a big big critical issue at work... joking my words were "It better be a fire a death or we've won the lottery"

she replied "you have a letter from the USCIS your 10 year green card is approved!" so I laughed and said. "0k that counts" ! :)

Suddenly the big data comms issue I was working on became a lot less of a problem :)

    (does the happy dance).

SO WE ARE FINALLY DONE !!!

To the fellow approved, Congratulations ! to the waiting have patience its coming !

But most of all to the community who has helped so many and been, and continue to be of such insurmountable help

we truly cannot put into words our gratitude for you guys being there when we needed it. Long may VJ continue.

    Thank you !
