  1. Ian and Melodee exchange nervous glances – each for different reasons. Ian is ashamed to admit that he got his a** kicked royally. He swore on his mother’s grave that Melodee would never find out that Delmar’s brother was responsible for his internal bleeding and broken ankle. Melodee is silently afraid that he will tell the doctor that she dashed him off his rental truck trying to get to another man. She does not want to see the inside of a prison cell.

Melodee: Excuse me Dr. missus. Does it matter how it happened? Just tell me what you are going to do to get my husband better.

Dr. Oliver: Calm down Mrs. Royale. I know little is making sense to either of you at this time. However, the more information we have the better. Now, as you know, your husband lost a lot of blood. Unfortunately, Jamaica does not have the best resources in our supply at the local blood banks. We normally ask relatives or friends to donate blood for their loved ones. Mrs. Royale, would you like to donate blood for your husband?

Ian: Uuu-oooo. Doctor. My wife is expecting our first child. I would prefer not to risk anything happening to our unborn son or daughter. I’m sure you can work around this as money is no object. I just want to get out of here. When can I leave?

Dr. Oliver: I see. However, I hate to inform you Mr. Royale there are some things that money can’t solve. If we don’t have compatible blood in our reserves, your money won’t help you. Actually, we could make a request to have blood flown in. But, that is very expensive, and you may not have that type of time to wait. I don’t want to frighten you unnecessarily. So, let’s get some tests done for a better picture of where we stand. Okay?

Ian: Doc I appreciate your attempts to provide adequate medical care. However, I would rather be flown back to the States. My health insurance will cover the expenses. Can you please arrange a Medi-Vac helicopter as soon as possible? I will make it worth your while…I assure you.

Melodee: Wh-what? Ian why are doing this? I can’t go with you. I don’t have papers. What about me and your baby? Are you still angry with me about Delmar and and and the truck?

  2. I met my SO while he was working in my community as the lifeguard ..The day we met i was doing laundry and i kept walking past the pool i struck up a conversation with him. I wanted to learn as much about him as i could as the summer progressed we got closer and closer ... He was always hanging at my house and i was always at the pool. as the end of his time and in Virginia came to a end i was feeling terrible cause i knew i would miss him sooo much . He returned to Maryland to finish out the season as the pools in VA were closed... I knew i was in love when i drove 4 hrs to see him for a short period of time . We talked on the phone everyday... Then he returned to Jamaica my heart was broken. At first we didn't get to talk much but as time went on we started talking more and more ofter not even caring that my phone phone bill was high... then in November he asked me to be his wife with the approval of my daughter and my parents... wich of course my kids and parents love him ... now here we are going through this whole K1 process.
