  1. My wife just did her N400 interview.   Applied in April,  Biometrics in May and then interview today.   Interview was around 15-20 minutes.   First 6 questions she answered correctly.   Went over a few items (about 15) on the application.  APPROVED and out the door.  Didn't ask to see any paperwork she brought.  Nothing.  She was nervous and  he was professional,  it was simple and easy.  We were married in 2010 and green card in 2014.  60-90 days will be the  oath ceremony.    My wife did well and was fully prepared.  Simple.  Great day and Thank you USCIS.

  2. My wife just received her green card. We need to be out of the country possibly over 6 months to liquidate some property in a foreign country. She speaks Spanish and I don't so she would be valuable to me in selling and preparing some properties I own. We would rather be in the USA. She does not drive. I could leave her in the USA alone but it would be a strange experience for her and awkward for grocery shopping etc. She does not know anyone very well in her new city in the USA. We don't know for sure how long to sell our condos but possibly over 6 months. We want to be prepared. She has been out of the country now for 2 months. I doubt if I can put everything together in 4 more months but possible. How can we get her permission to stay with me. What is the application procedure? Thanks

  3. Very strange we received this information almost 2 months ago but was not sent via case status until yesterday. Strange.
The lesson learned is that sometimes the USCIS does not sent updates timely.

  5. The earlier decision was that I had cancelled and withdrawn the I-130 and I told them that I called within 24 hours (they said 3 days in a letter). I called them before they received the withdrawal letter from me and tier 2 said it would not be withdrawn. Then 6 month later they said I had withdrawn my I-130. I told them I called before they even received it. They reviewed it and reinstated both the I-130 and the I-485. Then scheduled us for a September 18 appointment for an interview with the case officer. He approved it in the interview and then I received the above emails. One saying card with in production and the other said they were reviewing my decision to withdraw my I-130 back in December 2013. They had reinstated it in late July 2014. Not sure what is happening here. Any ideas anyone, Thanks for your help and input.

  6. I received these 2 letters email from USCIS today: One for the approval and production of Green Card for my wife and the second one is very strange. We met the officer today 8 am and my wife's green card was approved in less than 15 minutes. time was 10:15 and 10:16 several hours after the green card was approved by the officer.

Then I received these 2 different emails from USCIS: They were within 1 minute of the other in an email. What should I think about this?

Email for the I-485 was this: Receipt Number: MSC1490xxxxx

  7. Approved today September 18.

Wonderful interview for 10 minutes and then he said we are approved. Gave us the oath, looked at the pictures and asked for ID and a couple of documents and then done approved and out the door.
Its like we were approved before we got there. It was so simple and neat. My wife did a 10 second dance in front the the officer and out the door. He looked at our pictures for 40 seconds. Asked for a couple of papers. Took 5 minutes but we kinda extended to 10. We were really prepared but my submissions before seemed to be enough. I think when my US Senator wrote a fairness letter to the Panama embassy for my wifes tourist visa a few years ago and it appeared to still in the file and was a benefit. Very nice officer, polite. He said "so you been married twice before?" and I replied yes and third time is the charm. He agreed and laughed. Nice experience and very relaxed. Cool really cool.
  8. The interview letter requests birth certificates from my children whom are 31 years and 28 years old. Am I reading this right that I have to bring their birth certificates to the interview. I am 65 years old.

Also they ask for arrest record. For the petitioner? or just the beneficiary. I as the petitioner was arrested and released and charged with nothing 30 years ago. First time I have seen this for the petitioner. Help please as interview 2 weeks away.

  9. This is the notice I received on January 30, 2014. If I had withdrawn it would have stated so, correct?

Around Dec 20, 2013 I send withdrawal notice in the mail. The next day Dec. 21 before the USCIS received the notice I called and talked to tier 2 and they assured me I could cancel the withdrawal letter. I never received anything regarding the I-130 except the following on Jan 30.

    Initial Review

On January 30, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

  10. I don't believe a withdrawal can itself be withdrawn.

By regulation or law it can not. BUT it was not received and was in the mail when I called and I could not stop the post office from delivering it so I was advised to all. The tier 2 officer ASSURED ME that since they had not received it I could cancel. There should be a recording of the phone call.

I am getting my US Senator involved as I have contact with their office and they volunteered to help if needed. The Senator's office helped us before, when we applied for Lily's tourist visa from Panama 3 years ago......This is not fair for us as we have done all this by the book with this exception.
