  1. My wife and kid arrived last  2016. And I applied a US passport for my 8y/o daughter after a couple of weeks and received her US passport after a couple of months. She went to my country from the past few months with her mom for a vacation this year and came back after a few weeks. No issues or anything in the immigration.

And now, I received a letter from DHS USCIS contains:

    Addressed to my daughters name;

“The texas service center has not received your Department of State issued Immigrant Visa Packet which should have been submitted by the Port of Entry (PoE) when you entered the US. The Texas service center will require a completed Lost Visa Pocket in order to process your permanent resident card.  In order to get the packet completed you must visit your local district office....”

I don’t quite understand, my daughter is already a US Citizen because she already have a US passport. Do I have to submit the immigrant visa packet myself or is it supposed to be shown or taken from  their (wife and child) point of entry or arrival last 2016? Was this letter a mistake?7E9CB060-22BA-4DD9-B28A-B1BD9453E4EB.thumb.jpeg.497ec6c255a99def2fe8187c66f9f651.jpeg

  2. have to ? no, but it can be advantageous, so to do.

ssn chasing is always fun, wait 2 weeks after arrival, then get into a SSA office.

greencard arrival before passport app? No! why? there is a visa foil inside of the passport, that, once endorsed at a POE, becomes a Temp I-551 document, validity of 1 year.

How to choose a school? There's a school district in which you reside, and they have a website - containing phone numbers.

So you're saying that i dont have to pay/apply for my kids greencard? Because I already applied and paid for it.

  3. Im a US citizen, now my wife(IR1) and kid(IR2) are gonna be here by March, Do I have to apply for my kid's US passport right after they get here?

    What are the requirements?

Do i have to get her a social security # first?

And wait for their greencard to arrive before passport application?

She is on elementary at 3rd Grade, how do I choose a school for her? Do i have to contact my county, or are they gonna let me know?

    Thank you!

  4. hi

do they both have their packets in hand? if you want you can pay the $165 for each of them for the physical green card that they will get once they are here

and also you can now buy them the ticket if they have the packet in hand

I thought its already included on the fee that i paid? So its not automatically send when they gets here?

    Thank you

  5. I got their schedule 4 weeks before their interview date.

1st week - APEC in manila, no transportation. So my wife cant go for their medical(her and my daughter)

2nd week(today) - my wife have a period(menstruation) so she cant go on a medical exam!?

3rd week - possible medical examination!?

Last week - interview day is Thursday!

Can the medical examination process/result meets the interview date?? Are they able to get the result in a week prior to their interview date?

Just in case, how do I reschedule the interview date? Can it be rescheduled in just a couple of days before? How long?

    Thank you!

  6. My wife's and kid's interview next month, what are the usual questions of the interviewer? Are wedding pictures and old bf/gf's pictures enough?

To those who had their interview before, kindly please share some questions that was asked. :)

Do they also interview or ask questions to my 7yo daughter? Because she always tell me that she doesn't wanna come to the estates yet, she is very close to her grandma in the Philippines, and im worried about it on their interview.

  7. My wife and kid's interview on the 2nd week of December in Manila, where do i find the information for the medical services?

Do they have to set an schedule for the medical?where?

How much is the medical cost for each?

Also i have a correction on the form DS260 name of mother was misspelled, can my wife correct it during the interview?

  8. You never send in the DS260, you complete it online and should complete it as soon as it becomes available

    Read http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/National_Visa_Center

I think it will help clear up the process

and yes if you want you can send in your AoS package, you will just gain no advantage in doing so and it is best to mail in the IV and AoS at the same time

Thank you for the advice, i guess I'll just have to wait for their passports, i already paid and have access on the IV form/DS260.

Does the form i864 have expiration? I got it since August 12
