  1. Fingers' crossed to everyone. smile.png

No RFE here but I, basically, had to fill up the Affidavit of Support again for my mother and I just sent it today. I received a checklist and wants me to complete and send the I-864 and correct the following: "The income you enter must match the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federal income tax return." I checked our IRS transcripts and found out that I put the wrong figures. Well, I asked my husband which figures I should put in the form and he pointed the wrong ones. The email also said, give them 20 days to review the documents. And of course, I will have to redo my father's AOS forms (that I all ready sent) too because I put the same wrong figures there. oh well.... smile.png

    Hi,

What line is the total (gross) income reported on your most recent Federal income tax return?

  2. For those who emailed NVC, did you get an automated email to show they received it right after you sent it?

A lady at NVC said if I don't get that message then NVC didn't receive my email.

I sent the email to nvcinquiry@state.gov. Can anyone confirm?

I didn't get auto response either. I called and they said they were having email issues.

They have assigned my mom a Dominican Republic's case number and she should have an MNL case number. I'm afraid this will prolong my wait so I'd rather call everyday, send emails or what not. I need my mom here.

  3. I got this notice today and i got confused. My NOA2 says they shipped the petition to nvc nov 19 and this notice came in my email today:

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On December 12, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

  4. If the child was born to a USC parent, then he/she is a USC and qualifies for a US Passport. Once that is obtained, then the SSN is easy.

It could be that the child was a USC but still entered the US as a K-2. Even if that is the case, then the US Passport is the next step then the SSN; there is no GC.

If the K-2 is not a USC, then the beneficiary files for the K-2 during AOS along with the parent and then the GC is usually about 5 months out.

child was born to a USC parent and entered with k2.

they went to the SSA office and tried to get a SSN only the mom with k1 visa was given ssn that will be mailed but they were looking for a DHS form for the son for them to be able to apply for his SSN.

Don't he need a SSN to apply for US passport?

  5. My friend is a USC and his fiance just came last week with their 2 yr old son.

They went to SSA and only the fiance was given a SSN that will be mailed but they were still asking for a DHS form for the son.

How can the son get a SSN?

Does he only need to apply for US passport since the father is a USC?
