John and Camie got a reaction from PMartin37 in Advice needed VJ Family Plzz!!
I wouldn't invest another cent in his immigration. It's expensive and time-consuming, and it sounds as if you've already got your hands full. Once he gets that 10-yr. Green Card, he'll really show you his true colors, because then he'll have nothing left to lose.

John and Camie got a reaction from Shanh in Failed to get married K1
I'm troubled by the mean-spiritedness of some of the comments. Where's the compassion? Perhaps her English is very basic, resulting in messages being lost in translation. I doubt she is planning to lead a life of crime here.
Although the sad truth is that K1 must either lead to marriage or a return to one's country, I truly wish her the best. She came here to be with her fiance, and that wasn't easy to do. Now she has to deal with his cold feet and what looks to be the breakup of her relationship. She's looking at a long flight back home with a broken heart. Why pile on?

Aww, that's not nice. We're here to support each other.
Hang in there, Selim. Maybe roses and some space for your wife, then gently suggest marriage counseling. She sounds too angry and disillusioned to want to be cooperative with you right now. Don't force the issue until she calms down.

    Ahem,
We're all here to be encouraging to one another. Your posts didn't seem to be serving that purpose. You also come across as arrogant. I'm glad the OP's situation turned out well for her, but she could've done without your horror stories.

    Damn, that's mean.
She has RFEs listed. But, you didn't care enough about her feelings, why should I even expect you to care enough to look at her signature.

John and Camie got a reaction from Anna and Ali in How did your fiancé propose to you?
I proposed to John over Thanksgiving '08, ring (titanium, three diamonds and "Marry me?" inscribed inside) and everything. He loved it. But when I arrived at Heathrow the following June to bring him home from England, he surprised ME by getting down on one knee, with ring, at the terminal. He said he had wanted to propose all along, but was waiting until I came over to do it.

John and Camie got a reaction from Jeraly in AOS before or after I-94 expires
We didn't file AOS before our I-94 expired. Not because we didn't WANT to, but because I was UNEMPLOYED and couldn't afford to. Instead, we worked on our AOS and saved up for the fee while I looked for work.
There are so many people on VJ going through this exact nightmare. To "my people:" you're NOT going to be thrown in a wagon and shipped back to your native country if you don't file before the I-94 is up. Don't let anyone scare you. Save up for AOS, work on your AOS, and file it when you CAN. If you already have the money (just no job), then get a co-sponsor, collect your forms/docs and file.
Things happen. You file when you file, just make sure you stay on top of it; don't let it fall by the wayside, no matter how depressing your unemployment gets. Working on our AOS was one of the things (besides each other) that kept our spirits up.
