  1. Hey guys sorry I have been outta touch for a while.

So the story is we entered Chicago POE on Sept 20th. It was a really smooth breeze. Barely even two mins. They just took the documents given by the embassy and we were through and out. Its been a week now, and still no signs of the green card in the mail so of course the wait has not ended. But life is good.

Best of luck to all of us.

  2. Ok so finally after two weeks of calling every single day I got a straight answer today from a very nice lady in USICS...

My case is not being processed and its because my husband already had a SS# (or so she thinks thats the reason)

He had one from last trip to the states. Aparently the last person i talked to lied to me stated I was in additional processing. This very nice lady took my cell phone number and then stated she would call me back after she had more information and spoke to her supervisor. I do not know if its a good or a bad thing but at least this lady was nice and didnt give me the whole it hasnt be 6 months dont call back for 4 weeks line.

Ok done ranting... I guess i will go back to actual work so that I can keep my mind off of the joys of the immigration process.

Courtney - My hubby lived in US in the past as well - and he has a SS# from back then. Does not mean your case should not get processed. Call and talk to another rep

if i hear "your married why isnt he here" again i will just scream.

    the story of my life

i just want to smiley-violent081.gif someone everytime they ask about the process

  3. I read in another post that AP for K-1 takes longer than K-3? Is that true?... I think not because they are both in the IV category, only difference is the AOS and Green Card is produced for K-3... any say on this?

Mine is taking loger maybe cuz i have lived in the US(no overstay) and thats why they are running the FBI check, which takes about 90 days. When u apply for FBI report it takes 3 months to get it so i guess for DOS its the same .My interview was on July 14th 2009 and CO told me most 6 weeks.... i m still waiting anxiously and counting days.....hoping for the best.

Omark - my hubby lived in US too, no overstay either, however his AP last only 38 days as waitingforapproval's hubby. same interview date same AP time. only difference is they didn't keep my hubby's passport at the interview.

  4. Truly interesting. Did not know citizens would fall into the AP category as well.

However....as long as the process is quick and speedy, i don't think anyone would have a problem.

Its just the lengthy waiting period that we all dread.

Otherwise its a piece of cake.

My husband got his visa! After being put on AP for about 2 months and 26 days I believe!Looks like islamabad is rollingggggg. Thanks for all the help and good luck to everyone who is still on AP! Does anyone know of any good airline deals? so far the cheapest I found was Qatar? I hear there service isnt that great?

    congratulations flowerpower....

  5. Mumtaz - you can call NVC everyday and check when they have an interview date for you. They usually say the second week of the month, however its scheduled sooner at times, you never know. If they have your email address on their records then surely they will send you an email as soon as an interview is set.

Another thing, once the interview is scheduled, you can always call the embassy and ask them if there is an earlier date available. Sometimes you can get lucky and get an earlier interview than the one initially scheduled.

  6. Well knowing (TOM) is in the marriage knowing his wife does not love him sounds shady anyway.

However, if you feel your guilt will haunt you, go ahead and let the cat out of the bag, what are you losing.

If not.....who are you to interfere b/w two adults?
