I just hope something comes out of this soon!

Grin - good question...
What i did is i googled Illinois state senator and visited their website. There I was able to find their contact info as well as post my issue on their website (email).
You could even try yellow pages and call them if you are in the States
I am not sure how others have done it.

Ah Illinois, my hometown!!! Grin....
well I guess you really don't have a choice except to file no matter how long it is taking! However, the sooner you file, the sooner the process ends!! Each case is very different and you can not judge how long it will take for you.
Best of luck to you!

Just called the USEM and the guys was like, I hope you are aware AP take about 6-8 weeks and since your interview was a month ago, that time is not up yet. So I said, all i wanna know is, if there is any progress on the case yet or has it been forgotten on some reps desk...and he was like no no, definately there is progress on the case, you will hear from us as soon as case is complete.
Sounds a little bit more promising!!! at lease he said 6-8 weeks rather than 2-3 months!

I just said what i said because you quoted me and said when people like myself and the person you met in the emirates office.
Anyway...no don't think its about taveez or anything, insha'Allah everything will be fine for sure.

Some countries have a residency visa policy. I think most gulf countries do so. So your US passport should have a residency visa stamped on it. If you have been living there for 6 months you can apply through DCF....however Pakistan does not have any visa as such. Usually you are just a dual citizen (which does not count) so you will have to mail the documents to US, or file in US itself

if you are not married you have no choice but the K1, if you are married then you can choose between K3 or CR1....most people would rather go the CR1 route as it might only take a month or two longer to get to the US, but overall the process is shorter in the long run

it depends on how quick the guys there work.. could be 2 weeks, could be a month, etc...
-
Zeha - i'm not sure if you even know how long this process has taken us? I am thankful that everything has been resolved so far, however thankful for everything being so quick...you are right I am not thankful because it was not quick at all!!
speaking of ignorance and too much knowledge, our NOA1 took 6 months. Our NOA2 took one whole year...and then after NOA2 which stated that our case is approved and forwarded to NVC, USCIS never sent it. It took 4 months, after contacting the state senator for us to actually get the case to NVC, and finally after one year and 11 months we had our interview and now we are on AP, and god knows how long that will take. So if thats quick for you, and I should be grateful....I am sorry I am not. Wish you knew how long 2 years is before you say i was ignorant and unappreciative!

how can they look at vj they dont even look at their websiteb
-
yes i agree about not having to send them to NVC, however if you did...like we did in feb/march and our interview was in july...NVC sent us a letter requiring a new one, though, i checked with the embassy and they said its valid for a year and they will accept it.
if the gap is a year+ then you surely need a new one, again, you are better off not sendin it to NVC
