    It's my understanding that many Afghans are getting paid by our government, it's those they put on the news saying they want Americans to be in their country. Should give equal time to get the opinions of those that are shooting at us.

    can you blame those who are pissed off that foreigners came into their land, killed their people, and are just mucking things up all in the name of democracy, which is not even practiced here 100%?? now, i'm not a fan at all of extremism, but i can't say that i do not understand the normal general population who are unhappy with the US presence in their country.

    i just really wish that the intentions of the military were really genuine, that they are there to help the afghani people rebuild their country and uproot it of trashy people, but of course that is a naive way to see things.

    ah well........ c'est la vie right.

    so, you are saying that Obama ordered the CIA to pay Karzai's brother so the election outcome in Afghanistan will turn out in whatever way that Obama wants? :wacko:

    November Visa Interviews

    WELL,

    Perseverance helps. I just got off the phone with the Damascus embassy, and hubby has a new interview set for November 8, 2009.

    He actually contracted a serious virus which led him to be hospitalized for over a week with pneumonia like symptoms. He had been freaked out about the swine flu issue (apparently it is now in Syria as well), but thankfully it is not swine flu. Just needs some antibiotics, chicken soup, and a lot of sleep. And he's got his medical all done as well, thank God, so we are set to go!

    Kat, I'm so sorry about Sam getting sick just at the time of the interview. But yes, as you said, everything happens for a reason. Anyway, hope he'll be getting better these days and nothing serious with his health now... Take care, hun (F)(L)

    thank you hunny bunny :) my friend made a funny comment about how maybe this is karma and maybe he would have gotten some psycho interviewer that day, etc...so it's all good. i've waited this long, what's another week or so...lol :(

    My Mother and younger Brother are traveling to Tennessee for Thanksgiving, leaving Leidys and I alone for the holiday. I have an elder Brother who has been distant since the passing of my Father. His family will probably have their own friends over during Thanksgiving, but they may surprise us with an invitation..who knows?

    I have plenty of great friends who live nearby who are aware that we might be alone for the Thanksgiving holiday, and will most likely invite us to their home. With the high cost of Leidys' plane ticket, I am not in financial shape to host a Thanksgiving party. If we happen to be alone, we will probably load up my Father's Pilot and camp out in the desert or see a movie alone.

    CR-1 To IR-1?

    Hello everyone! I have a couple questions about CR-1 and IR-1.

    I've been married two years (Today!). Does my application automatically turn to IR-1 or do I have to submit something to change it? Or is this done at the interview and when they give you the Visa?

    it's all good. i just find it funny when people make such comments without realizing what they themselves are dealing with.
