  2. Question to those living in Pakistan

Is it common in the villages not to have street names and number addresses? My fiance moved back to his village in November cuz his job wanted him to resign due to the fact he couldnt commit to a full year of service cuz he was honest with them and told them didnt know when he would be receiving his visa. Anyways I am concerned about this address in the village cuz it really isnt an address no street number , just the city and the post office where he is located . Is this common and im worried how this may effect our AP. He says its a everybody knows every body so the postman knows where it is and how to find him by his fathers name  . Im concerned cuz that is not how it is in the United States everybody has a address or a P.O. Box . Anyways i gave this info to the embassy about a month ago. Is the embassy aware of these villages not having IMOP a real address? Is this common? Please enlighten me :help:

Thats not true from start till end. every home in Pak has postal address just like any home in any city or country...i dont know who is giving you that impression to believe on. lemme clear it up...when we talk about any country's population, we count how many ppl live in any village, town, city, province and whatsoever. The calculation is not based on counting ppl one by one in a row LOL, but by numer of houses. Residents of any particular house are registered with goverment election voting system by giving their house number. This house number is already assigned by the goverment. So when it comes to counting ppl, we talk about the house number of that particular house, that gives you the number of ppl living on. For instance, 2, Gali number 5, muhalla abc, zila xyz, faisalabad, Pakistan.

it means 2 is a house number, Gali number means street number or name, zila means town, faisalabad is a city of Pakistan and you know what Pakistan is...

so where and how one could say that villages in Pak doesn't have address?

  3. Good morning UK friends. Somebody recently asked me for my list of what I sent for AOS. This is modified from my cover letter and may help some of you get the big picture of what to start preparing. This is for K1s.

    I-485 (Adjustment of Status)

Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)

Photocopy of birth certificate of immigrant with translaton

Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page

Form G-325A Biographic Information Sheet (immigrant)

Form I-864 Affidavit of Support (by USC) with photocopies of supporting documents: This varies by each applicant so here's generic suggestions

    ---Employment letter

---3 tax returns including copies of W2s (Photocopy)

    ---six recent pay stubs (Photocopy)

(If needed)Form I-864 Affidavit of Support (by Co-sponsor) with photocopies of supporting documents:

---Proof of co-sponsors citizenship/status, ie US birth ceritificate, bio page of passport, naturalization papers, or LPR status

    ---Employment letter

---3 tax returns including copies of W2s (Photocopy)

    ---six recent pay stubs (Photocopy)

Photocopy of I-797 Notice of Action, I-129 Petition Approval Notice from USCIS (That's your NOA2)

    Certified copy of Marriage Certificate

Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record (card from the plane, may be stapled in passport)

Form I-693 with the immunization section filled out by a US Civil Surgeon, signed and sealed by him. Read the instructions for the form.

or DS-3025 from UK medical if all shots were completed at Knightsbridge if you want to take that chance

    I-765 (Employment Authorization)

Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)

Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page

Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record

    I-131 (Advance Parole travel document)

Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)

Statement of circumstances that warrant issuance of advance parole

Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page

Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record

And a check for $1010 made out to the Department of Homeland Security

That's 3 separate applications with supporting evidence all mailed together in one envelope with one check. They will get processed in different places, so that's why the duplication of evidence. You don't have to do all three, but the second two are free if sent with the AOS and will get you authorized to work or travel sooner than waiting for the green card to arrive in most cases. Green card could take 6 months. Work and travel 60-90 days.

Do not work until the I-765 is approved and you have the EAD card

Do not leave the US until the I-131 is approved (K1s) and you get the travel documents or you will not be allowed back in. Once you have a green card, then no problem.

loadssssssssssss of thx Nick..........the way you keep helping ppl at VJ......May Allah Bless you Always! Aameen!

  4. I took my fiancee 2 days after her arrival to the local SSN office to apply for her SSN. She did not show up in the "system" as the SSN person said and told us to wait 2 weeks. It has been 7 weeks so we went back today and we had the same lady and she said the SSN office had to send the Dept. Of Homeland Security a zerox copy of her visa, passport, and I-94 for them to verify she is eligable to receive a SSN. The lady was very unhelpful both visits. I asked her to query the syetem again and see if she is now in the system but she cut me off and said she has been working in the SSN office many years and knows her job! She suggested we just wait or we can contact the Dept. of Homeland Security Ourselves! So My fiancee and I immediately went to the local USCIS Office but they had closed at 2pm. There hours are 8am to 2 pm Monday through Friday! I do not know what to do next.

I am thinking of making an appointment with the dept of homeland security/ USCIS office and explain the situation. I am also thinking of going back to the SSN office and demanding to speak to a supervisor of the offiice.

has anyone else applied very soon for their fiancee's SSN and experience the same or similiar thing??????

I came into US on K1 Visa. I applied for SSN right after my first week of arrival and got the SSN after 5 weeks. there is a thing on my SSN that ONLY FOR WORK WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION. so technically K1 visa holder can work but only with DHS autho which is EAD. your fiancee should be receiving her SSN in any day...if it doesn't then you better contact local SSN office...

  5. My husband woke up bright and early and went to the embassy on 01/26/09! He got there 4 hours early and he was told to wait. He got to his officer for the interview finally and was very nervous. (I did not go with him to the interview, I am still in the USA). At any rate they asked him over 30 questions. 1. How long did you know your wife before you met her? 2. What is your wife's full name? 3. Why do you love your wife and why did you want to marry an American? 4. What made you go online to meet a wife to relocate to the USA? 5. Can I see some evidence of your marriage?<-Just to name a few of his questions. The interviewer was an American man with dark hair and he was very stern voiced. He told my husband he was approved and could pick up his visa and passport in a few weeks. So, I guess no AP!

First, Congratulations on having VISA. i am wondering but happy that this is the first case i am reading that visa issued without being put on AP in Pak. its a big WOWWWWWWWW................many congrats...but dear ..................saying that you could pick up your visa and passport in few makes doesnt make sense...the visa issuing time period is seven days (including dispatching to the applicant)and max 2 weeks. no matter wheever you r applying for US visa in the world. This is what written at many US consulates websites....So there is no harm to ask them again. how long will it take to get the visa stamp and deliverd back the passport.

    Congrats Once again

when embassy are ready to issue you a visa, they normally email you or phone you to send your passport by sms courier. when you call sms courier, they ask you about what service you want to take to deliver your passport to embassy and deliver back to you....i acquired premium serivce from 8 to 12pm........which means when you book your delivery, they come to your residence on the following morning and deliver your stuff to embassy on the same day or next....embassy itself usually takes 5to7 business days to dispatch your passport back to you....mine took exactly 6 days....hope it helps...

wish ya very best of luck..

    Ali

    Bye

onemore thing, it would be better if you book your delivery by premium serivce...it means when embassy stamps your passport, they do level best to disptach your passport on the same day and you can have your passport on the following day..............

SMS courier always text you on your cell phn that they are going to deliver back your passport tomo so if it is not convenient to you u can call them up and reschedule your deliver on any other day.........

  8. thank you im not celebrating untill i receive the actul visa, i heard horror stories of passport returned without visa and being told another ap after already being on ap for a year. I consider myself the luckiest person here.
    Congratulations!

can't be possible to put on another ap as you have already cleared from one.........embassy only ask for the passport to be send my sms courier once they are ready to give you actuall visa........embassy doesnt have any problem to continue your AP process unless they get the clearence but i can say they don't normally put ppl on second ap...........

  9. I communicate with my fiancee by purchasing a prepaid calling card and calling her mobile phone. How do I keep records of this communication as proof of our on-going relationship??. please help.

Phone conversation or online conversation are the part of proving on-going relationship.........i would agree with keeping save the prepaid cards.....on top of that, you can save ur online chat, you can also prove your on-going relationship by sending each other cards on various occasion. I u can buy prepaid card on internet, you can also show the internet card puchasing transaction to the CO........its pretty easy and simple to do these kinda stuffs.....

  12. Thanks for help. Do I need to send this Police Certificate to my fiancee before filing the petition or I have to provide this to Embassy at the time of interview. I have lived in three cities since I tured 16 so getting ceritficates from all three cities will take some time. So shall we ask for the police certificate or can we file the petition and get the police certificate after that.

make one and keep it with u, u will have to present it in front of CO on ur interview day.......make ur police certificate well advance before ur interview day..cuz it takes time to make one in Pakistan...

  13. it takes about 2 weeks to get the PCC. Let me know if u need any specific info as I recently got mine.

    Dear

    I have lived in london for 2 years in 2005 - 06

Please tell me whether they consider Credit History while issuing the police clearance certificate, as i have not paid one of my mobile bill of litttle amout, does the red reminder from the debt collection agency spoil my PCC ????

    Please reply asap, thanks

Police certificate states that the following name person is not found guily in any crime, there is nothing to do with your credit history, they are two diff system and police certificate is purely based on criminal history but not on credit history. So dont worry about it.......if you are all cleared in criminal history then u will be gettin your certificate in 2 weeks........my suggestion to you send them 3pounds extra for special delivery, because i had lost my first one in the delivery so i had to apply for a copy of certificate that arrived by special delivery but luckily i got the previous one as well after 2 months..............

  14. what is the radar he said?

Radar is a system that uses electromagnetic waves to identify the range, altitude, direction, or speed of both moving and fixed objects such as aircraft, ships, motor vehicles, weather formations, and terrain. The term RADAR was coined in 1941 as an acronym for radio detection and ranging.

Yep, they are used in many cases for automatic door openers.

If one is so desperate to work Without EAD then there would be more chances to get caught, and if she gets caught then everything will be over, you are abiding the law, and stop working asap, doesn't it sound good if you or your friend wait unless you get the EAD. Raids can be happen anywhere and authoroties dont inform you before they actually there for the raid......so dont' mess up with your whole case and wait untill you get the proper document so that you could commence to work.

and yes there is a existance of lie detector in the world and they are also being used for criminals, its not that much reliable but still can give you an idea if the person is actually lieing or what? I am not sure if it is used for AOS interview but i can't even understand onething? why you or your friend is feared from lie.........it means you are lieing for something or hiding something that can be caught during the interview.........a person who has applied with true documents and didn't tell lie frm start till end of his case can't be bother by radar thingy? sorry for such straight answer but we are here to help to be straight wit the law but not to encourage anyone to do anything against the law or abiding the law....

  16. What should we do? my wife is here on a k1 Visa. we applied for and received a social security card. The woman at the social security office who gave it to us said she could start working right away, which she has been doing for about a month. Now it has come to my attention that she can't work with out an EAD. I didn't notice it at first but the social security card says right on it; can not work with out work authorization. I am in the process of filing the Adjustment of Status forms. She is working at a Chinese restaurant as a waitress. The boss who is also Chinese said not to worry about it that the government won't catch it. but I am worried! a I asked her to quit her job, but she wants to work and is very resistant to the idea of quitting.

    What should we do?:

    1. quit and explain to the authorities and hope they understand.

    2. quit and hope they do not catch it.

    3. don't quit and hope they don't catch it. If they do tell them the Social security office said it was OK

    4. other?

First you better ask your her to quit job, it is understandable that noone would catch her, but suppose if someone catches her then what would u do. it will cause AOS would be in pending as she broke the rules that she can't work without EAD, it is a good exercise to first get the work authrization and your SSN, it will take a month or two but atleast you wouldn't have that fear that she will be caught by any authority.......bear this in mind plz...your AOS cant be rejected you ur fiance or wife is kept doing that without ead...else is upto you...she shouldn't be that eager to start earning right away but have to deal everything one by one then she can work as much and any time she wants...

sorry i forgot to mention onemore thing as far as i know you can't work without EAD no matter if you have SSN or not...EAD is an approval to work and SSN is used fo identification

  18. Thats the most funniest documentation that I have ever read in my entire life................And I hope not to read something like this in my future life as well...............

You find it a funniest document u have ever seen in your life. would you dare to deal with such high volume of customers queries, emails on every day basis. I am sure, you will be quitting this job in a week or so...and that would be funny :)... but dear ppl at USCIS try their best to give you up to date info and one more thing whenever you call them, they will surely pick up your call in one bell. :) so don't say its funny, you are insulting their efforts they do everyday. Working at a place where you are talking to thousands of ppl from all around the world for their immi queries is one daring job and i myself appreciate it but not finding it funny :)

  22. I'll have my interview next week...I was thinking about a nice pair of new jeans, a sweater (its so cold here!!) and a nice pair of shoes...I think (and hope) it will be fine!!

The won't go at your looks, but the documents and interview........yet it is not necessary to dressed up formal but yes, give them a good picture of yours of how you dress up in your daily life.......do not wear anything like having American flag on it........blue jeans is fine and i have seen 90% of ppl in embassy in blue jeans on the day when i was there for interview...just be yourself and dont go over thats all i can suggest you my friend :)
