  1. We wouldn't have told him that this is what the consulate will do if it weren't true.

Are you saying that you know for certain what the consulate will do? Because that is what this statement means.

Personally, I don't have any idea. I know that I was afraid to send my documentation to the Bangkok embassy before my fiancee had the police report in hand, so I did not. I do not know what additional scrutiny a non-UK resident from Pakistan will receive in London, and I also don't know how many examples we have of such cases.

I am not trying to scare anyone. I am only stating what I would do if somehow I was dropped into his situation.

Finally, imagine that what to you seems unimaginable did occur and that some mean person asked why he certified that he had the document when he did not have it. Would it be a good idea to state, "I didn't want to delay my appointment."?

The original question was about what the consulate will do if he cannot produce a police certificate on the date of the interview.

Without question I can advise the OP that the lack of the certificate alone will not cause a visa denial. There is much anecdotal evidence at London that they will simply not issue the visa until a satisfactory police report has been produced.

My point is this - if this gentleman does not have his police report on the date of his interview, he won't be the first applicant at that consulate to arrive in that condition. And a lack of the report will have nothing to do with whether or not he is placed into Administrative Processing. If it is currently the policy of the consulate to place all nationals of Pakistan on AP, then that will occur with or without a police certificate on date of interview.

yesterday, i talked to my brother who will be DHL the certificate as soon as he gets it. let's say if he sends the certificate on 14th of 15th of december and also text me the DHL tracking number so that i could track and get the print out of that tracking page. is it a good exercise to bring that tracking page along with scanned or faxed copy of certificate? is it still going to give my visa interview an unfavourable eye....

Might not hurt to have the fax copy and your packing/tracking number.

When did you apply for your police certifications?

more or less a month ago! but as per my bro last visit to police certificate office, they say it will be gettin' done in a week or so!

You have been advised by another poster to this thread to expect to wait three months. I suggest you research recent anecdotal histories to see if such is the case. The authorities in your home country are not known for kept promises.

yes that will be another story to keep on holding for another 3 months for that freaky AP or AR thingies. Authorities in my back home are not known for kept promises but thats another issues and this is what a politics of our world. who is keeping promises and doing favours in other favours, if embassy has to take these points in their consideration before giving visa, then i wouldn't think that any nationals from Pakistan would ever get permit to fly any country....I can say that authrities are delaying my certificate but embassy won't think like how i am thinking. but all the info i provided, am i still in the position to convinced them that i just hit by this uxpected situation.????

  3. ummm.....at this point in time, there is a general suspicion abroad that there are some disreputable folks in Pakistan (and elsewhere, of coure) so in my view, it pays to provide incontrovertible proof to our consulates.

I didn't know that i would be seeing such replies that is basically turning the real material of my post.

The poster does not mean that YOU are disreputable, IMO. I think he/she is referring to folks like the Taliban and their supporters.

yes! but my post doenst' need the replies about who is disreputable, who is supportion Taliban so please :ot2:

I didn't know that i would be seeing such replies that is basically turning the real material of my post. Ppl who are saying i told lie, please bear this in mind, that one can be in a rush to get his visa asap, i would be agreed that sending checklist to the embassy is all about having documents in applicant's possession but its not like that i am making myself suspicious in any ways that CO will look at me as i did something wrong that could dismissle my visa application as i lie to them. I didn't lie as far as i am concerned but ppl who calls them straight forward, doesn't realy have to take anything negative. there are always two sides of stories, but some folks in here just stickin' with one side. I can heartly appreicate other ppl's positive opinion but how about those ppl who are taking this post in a wrong way...

didn't it ever happen in your life that you are planning for something and some delays just happened to came across....???

that's the same thing happened with me....ppl in embassy are human and i don't fink they always take or assume the one side of story, they can't be positive or negative but both, that's why they are sittin' on th CO chair......

i am trying my level best to atleast get the scanned or faxed copy of the certificate, atleast i would have something to show that original is on the way and can be delivered ASAP.

but we never know what embassy thinks......else about if embassy looks at me with any suspicious eyes...i am in europe for the past 6 years, lived in germany and living in UK, got police certificates from both countries but didn't get the back home certificate cuz of some delay becuase of bad political conditions over there, and as far as i am concerned, CO also knows what's going on in the world......

  7. If I were your Consular Officer, I'd be thinking, "Well he lied about having his police certificate, so what else is he lying about? Can I believe anything he says?" Good luck getting a visa after lying in writing to immigration officials.

That's a harsh and unnecessary response.

The simple answer is a visa will not be granted until all required police certificates have been provided to the consulate.

If all other documentation asked for by the consulate is adequate, London will approve the visa pending the receipt of the Pakistani police certificate.

You seem to be forgetting about the "interview". Getting a visa particularly for a citizen of Pakistan (even in London) takes more than "documentation". There is likely to be far more scrutiny of this applicant than for a UK citizen. I told the poster what I would be thinking so he can be prepared. Sometimes reality is harsh and a visa interview is "real".

    I'm not forgetting about anything.

Firstly, we are not certain the beneficiary is a citizen of Pakistan. All we know is he needs a police certificate from that country.

Secondly, the UK is a very diverse nation. Walk down the streets of London if you need evidence of that. A person who is 'brown' isn't going to raise the eyebrows of a CO at that consulate one bit.

    LINKIN ADDED!

I am not sure how to add up more Info in regards of my post.

But just to let all respected PPl in here especially Mr Pushbrk,,,,first of all I and anyone at this forum don't wanna mess around with embassy officials, secondly, i had a reasonable and true intentions to send the checklist earlier so that i could get an interview date on time so that I and my fiancee can be together before 1st of Jan...That her birthday date and mine is on 5th of january, on top of that we are plannin' to get marry in the same month so that we could mark this month with loads of celebrations day in it...but i got a delay thats realy ruining our plans,

you can now easily by reviewing the situation i have if i told lie or what???

I am a Pakistani citizen living in europe for abotu 6 years.

  8. I am a U.S citizen and planning on visiting my fiance again who's in Pakistan in next few months. I would like to come back with him to states and get married here. Is this possible ? To my knowledge so far , I've been told that I have to file I-129F form for him and then K-1 Visa as fiance, but do I need to be in U.S to do this ? Or can I file this petition for him from Pakistan while am there ?

Few other questions - Am I on the right track by filing for him as fiance since I want him in U.S as soon as possible ? or should we get married while am there and then file for him as my husband ?

    - Filing for a Pakistani Fiance or a spouse - How long does the whole process take for them ? Estimation ?

Yes you would have to be in States to file petion for fiance visa on his behalf. a good tip! try to file ur case at vermost service center as they process petitions faster than any other centers in US

  9. Anyone interviewing at the London embassy and not a British national?

My fiance is a Pakistani citizen on student visa in the UK, he will be interviewing for his K-1 visa in London. Any tips, advice, experiences will be a great help!

    Thanks,

    -MARM

I have my interview in mid of december 2008, i am in UK on student visa, everything have been gone smoothly and inshallha i will be gettin' positive result thou!.........it took me around 6months and 10 days from filing of fiance visa petition to get an interview call...if you need to have more about how its gonna be like...u can send me personal message...

may Allah gives u success at every step towards gettin' the visa...

  10. First off, you didn't follow the procedure London sent you. You are supposed to submit the checklist when you have every document you need. Did you see the statement you signed: "I hereby certify that I have collected all of the items which I have marked with a check mark...." There is a method there... to keep people from coming unprepared and wasting their time.

You could call the embassy and delay the interview. Or you can go interview and they will tell you to send the proper documents in later. After you send the certificate in, they will contact you to arrange for your passport to be picked up by SMS couriers and delivered to the Embassy. Then they will issue the visa and have it delivered back to you by SMS. I dont think an emailed, notarized, scanned police certificate will do.

    Linkin' Added,

Nick thx for ur reply, I knew it from earlier that sending the checklist means that you have all documents in your possession. but the reason why i sent the checklist earlier because that was a only document i was waiting to arrived from Pakistan and on top of that i wanted to get the interview date asap, cuz my fiancee bd is coming on 1st of jan and mine is on 5th of jan so i wanted to be there on time. but as you might heard of it INdia pakistan conflications over Mumbai attack so it basically impacted on local goverment bodies and offices as well. they are now securing their assess more by issuing certificates to anyone, but if necessary they are double checking each and every application, (My brother told me cuz he been told at the certificate office). As per my and bro conversation today on phone, he is sure to have certificate by coming friday or saturday but i can't get it in one day if he sends me on 15th of dec which is monday, so can you please also suggest me for what should i do or say to embassy once i be there for interview?

I can understand ppl aren't expert in immi thingies but still ppl experiences help eachother out.

thx once again for your detailed reply.........

  11. I'm not sure regarding your situation but have had some conversations with another waiting for police clearance from the Netherlands, as we are. They will not schedule my finacee's appointment without it. The other fellow I have communicated with had his interview and they gave him a pink slip and held his passport saying they would send it to him as soon as they received the clearance.

I suggest you contact the embassy and ask them. Maybe your brother could expressmail the original to you?

But call the embassy and ask what they want you to do.

    linkin added?????????????

pink slip with clearance means they will only give him passport once he shows them his police certificate???????????????????????????

  12. I have my interview on 16th of december at us embassy in london, i have all required documents but still waiting for the police certificate from Pakistan which is taking a bit delay but hopefull i will be having it before the interview date, my question is if i dont get the certificate from Pakistan on time but if i ask my brother to notorize and scan the copy of certificate and send it to me (if my certificate is coming on or after 16th of december) is embassy going to accept it or not. will this problem creat any further delay to issue me a visa. will they give me another interview date or will they say that if we are going to issue you visa but can't hand over to you unless u produce the original one.

am i standing in positive postiion to show that scanned notorized copy of certificate??????

i have read on visajourney sometimes ago that a guy from china was applying for K1 visa but emabssy didn't hand over the visa to him unless he showed the certificate to embassy and he had the same situation where i am standing at the moment??????????????/

Well, first, they won't be happy about it, because when you sent in your packet 3 you certified that you already had all of the documents in your possession.

Second, I don't think your brother CAN help... it has to be certified by the police, not your brother.

Based on all of the issues I've seen with approvals from Pakistan, I wouldn't want to create any additional problems with them.
