  1. Hey Ells, oooh pics I can't wait to see

Thanks Ells I still feel like ####### but much better than yesterday  Girllllll this chile done really worked my last good nerve and you know this always causes problems wid mi and Mom :help: so last night was not a good night but I am not letting him stress me cause I am the keeper of the contract! B-)

Girl I so should have used that Gollywood line last night

    How ya feeling today Philly?

I just had a funny thought inspired from all your movies....you should get an African mask & hang it somewhere he will see it often. When he gets outta line, just tell him it's your new mask & it was originally used by ancient tribes to put a curse on bad children! Maybe if he sees that thing looking at him all the time, he'll think twice before acting up again! Heck, if you don't have good markets there for that kinda thing, let me know & I'll send you a scary looking one from our flea market!

Thanks Ells, How are you and hubby doing?

We're doing good on most days! If you'd asked that on Monday night it might've been a different response though. LOL!

ells, girl.. that is so messed up..ive been apart of a lot of car trouble..its the WORST..

and if everybody had just listened to u and sold it in the beginning everything woulda been fine.. so tell me.. if his mom gave him the money for the car, was she gonna get a part of the business income??

You know, I have no idea what exactly they planned to do as far as reimbursing her or whatever. The answers I get are so vague that it just drives me to near-insanity. The issue has been temporarily resolved though so we shall see what happens. I won't be surprised if it pops up again soon though. *smdh*

  2. Well, I was gonna share our minor drama but I don't know if I can explain it properly & it'll probably just make me pissed off all over again. Let me try...

First, a little background....hubby's Ma gave him money last year to buy a car because between his cousin & himself, they got the idea that they could run taxi & make some money (or whatever hairbrained scheme was going on in those pea brains...yes, I'm agitated). I tried to warn him & tell him it might not be worth it (with taxes, licensing, insurance, gas money, maintenance & repair, etc. etc.) but he was determined. He got a car & his cousin ended up licensing it in his name cause he already had a license & hubby didn't. It was co-signed by another so-called friend from work & here is where the idiocy begins. Nothing of the car was in hubby's name because they told him that him being so new to driving would make the insurance too hard to get (BS I call...anything can be gotten as long as you can pay). So, to me it seems he was taken advantage of because he couldn't read & he can be a pushover sometimes.

Okay, long story short, we got use out of the car, left it in JA for his mom because she said she'd be coming back to fix the property & would need a car. MY SUGGESTION was to get a 'for sale' sign & sell the thing in the couple weeks before we'd be leaving for the U.S. No one wanted to listen to me. Now that we were gone, his cousin thought the car would be his because it was in his name but shortly after, hubby's mom realized she wouldn't be coming any time soon & decided to sell it. MAJOR family drama ensues in trying to get back the car title & have both 'co-owners' sign off. Mom wants her money back & at this point, there isn't a damn thing we can do from here. Mom gets a 'family friend' who is a police man in Lucea to help sell the car & 'repo' it from the cousin. Police man supposedly finds a buyer for the car back in November & it is sold. This is where we thought the end of the story was.

Apparently not. Mom never receives the money from police man friend but we didn't know this. THEN, just yesterday we get the call from sister saying that the 'car buyer' now does NOT want the car & wants his money back & to give back the car. Says that he couldn't license it because something on it was falsified (my words, not theirs). If this was true, how did WE have NO PROBLEMS licensing, insuring, inspecting & being stopped at several road blocks??? I was there for all of this & everything passed. Suddenly there's a scam problem & now it's hubby's problem again. #######????? First, someone is trying to tell us that this guy waited 4 months to try & license the car?? Second, knowing that isn't true, SOMEONE is pulling some ish but you can't get a straight story out of anyone to save a life. Hubby is stressed, I'm angry & annoyed & ready to get him a plane ticket just to go there & torch the MFing car & be done with it! His mom is upset with him cause she feels like she is owed $200K & so I told hubby, when he starts working, his first $2500 US will go to her! I even listened to him on the phone talking to his mom & cousin (separately) & telling all kind of pointless lies (like to cousin saying we were going to come there this year but not now....WHY???). I could just choke him!!

  3. JQ, don't change your name cause I won't be able to stop calling you JQ!

I went to JALOVE's mothers funeral this morning and decided to stay home instead of go in late. I'm glad I was able to go show my support.

Glad you were there to support.

Ells: my momma is just one of 'em old fashioned Jamaican stuck in her old days and won't come out

Hubby STILL does the same thing even though he knows body parts. You can take the Jamaican outta Jamaica but you can't take the Jamaica outta them!:no::lol:

since i was on the visa site.. i thought i would check some countries for Roger..we were talking bout all the places he wanted to travel now that he had his GC and could go and i remembered someone on vj had said that the gc doesn't allow him to go ANYWHERE w/out a visa...he said he wanted to go to Italy and Mexico..well so far mexico is a go, but not italy..visa is required..

alright back to work u guys.. likkle more

Hmmm, does that mean a visa from the JA embassy or a visa from the U.S.?? That's the only part I'm confused about. With any travel, even we need visas to go to certain countries so that's not a big deal as long as they too go through the U.S. to obtain them. I can see it being a major pain in the rass though if they had to go through the JA embassy for visas to go other places.

Gurl I know the feeling. I only have 10 classes left but on academic hold until I pass this friggin Math exam.. I will know the results of it on 4/6!

By the way, my father will know the results of his test (cancer or not) on the 25th. I will keep you guys posted

Praying both results are good! That you pass the math exam & that he has negative results meaning NO cancer!

  4. Lol thanks gurl...my kids always laughing at me.... My daughter was telling me how nice my eyebrows look cause I just got them done. I told her when she turns 15 she can get hers done too cause she is looking like Wolverine.. My son just hollared lol

You are going to give her a complex! :bonk::rofl::rofl:

Guess what I have Gran kitties!!!!!

Well of course we have been preparing but Mrs Bootsy said the last week of March or the 1st of April. But low and behold last night Damian woke me up cause of squeaking noises and Foxxy was no where to be found. So we follow the squeaks and they are coming from under the bed, and she had one baby feeding up under her. Of course we were amazed no screaming or anything but earlier in the day I noticed her breathing was accelerated but she was sleeping and not in pain so I left her alone.

Well I was afraid there were more babies but we didn't find any so we put her and the 1 kitten in a basket in a room alone for privacy. This mawning she was hungry so she ate and fed the baby and tried to sleep, but the Father Hancock was nosy and so was African storm and they both wanted to be with Foxxy but we kept them away cause Hancock had that look in his eye more than the concerned Father but more like I'm ready for some daggering :devil: .

Mother and baby were all well as I left for work sleeping and hopefully getting some rest, but not for long cause Damian just called to tell me she delivered another baby that looks exactly like Hancock :luv: awwweeee this is so wonderful and I missed it :crying:. Mrs. Bootsy is on her way over now to make sure there are no more babies to be delivered or she will induce her. The 1st kitten is all Black we can't tell the sex yet but he/she is big and already trying to walk around, I see an African Storm part 2 :help::rofl:

I can't wait to get home to see them both and take pics, have to run to Walmart on break to pick her up a few things, then when I get home I am going to finish making her kitty house to make sure Mother and babies are comfortable.

YAAAAYYYY!!! You KNOW I'm excited about this! And I can't wait to see pics! LOL @ one looking like the dagger master!

  5. Hubby finally booked our tix to JA.. We'll be there for almost 2 weeks, so if anyone is going to be in Ochi early June link me in PM...

    :dance::dance::thumbs:

Girl please... I haven't been back since Ray came in Oct of 2008. Time sure does fly when your having fun. lol

WOW! That's a long time. That's how it's going to be for us when we finally get back too. I really hope you have a great time!

Don't touch a womans rum cream...

NO SAH! That is grounds for something SERIOUS! :bonk::bonk::angry:

  6. See tomorrow is our 3 years anni from being official boyfriend and girlfriend.

Happy 3 years from being official Anniversary JQ!

    I'm having a BOY!!!!!!!

    Congrats on knowing!

it seems he believes kids have a place and adults have a separate place..if that makes sense

I'm that way too. I think kids today don't have enough manners towards adults & I'm kinda old school in my thinking. Yes, they should be involved but they shouldn't interrupt adult conversation & definitely don't talk back. Yes, I know, I need a kid before I can talk too much.

  7. http://i1021.photobucket.com/albums/af335/finessetwins/287.jpg

Christine Safari 6lbs 4 oz and Kymana Simone 5lbs 12oz

We are all home now and doing great..

Congrats Ness & Hubby! Glad to know everyone is doing well. They are so sweet! Those lips look like little pink hearts.

House update: we're under contract for the house so keep us in prayer!!!

Hoping & praying you'll get your dream house!

Hope everyone had a great weekend, Saturday was fabulous with our VJ link up, but been sick since Sunday I even took today off to recoup. Hubby just made me some get well ackee LOL and spiked my sorrel tea with ginger wine  Trying to get myself together so I can go up to the school to kick my oldest's son's @ss he is completely out of orda up there

Hope you're feeling better today Philly!

And I hope you didn't have to kick him rass too bad. Time to use the Gollywood line, "YOU ARE NOT MY SON!" IF he keeps it up.

  8. Oh yeah, meant to say welcome to the newbies!

Her name is Laila Imani Morris.

Awww, that's a beautiful name! :luv:

You know what Sheka, I absolutely HATE doing "that" in the early mornings, I feel so dirty, call me weird. But to sleep all night, sweat and funky breathand the first thing I do is "that!?!" I mean I do once in a blue moon but not very often...

I'm kinda with you KJ! We do it once in a while too but I prefer to be 'fresh'. Of course, come to think of it, we tend to do that on Sunday mornings. :innocent: Sexy Sundays!:whistle:

Just found out my 7 yr. old sister-in-law was raped in Jamaica !! I feel so sick just typing it. She's okay physically, but emotionally is another story.

Hate to be a mood crasher....Yea so its pretty stressful at my house dealing with all the phone calls. I feel so helpless. Yall please pray for my family; especially my precious sister-in-law.

I'm so sorry to read this Shanette! No one wants to know what I would do to that man if he was caught & left locked in a room for me. Let's just say it would be slow & PAINFUL! :ranting::protest: I'm praying for her too. This is going to leave a lifelong scar & I will pray for her strength to overcome the trauma of it & still try to live a (mentally) healthy life in the future. (L)

  9. Goodnight!!!!! It's official, I mailed off packet today!!!!

    Congrats Mo!

How did he get confused on whose side I was on? I guess lack of eating could make you not think clearly.

When I read the first part "I need to have strawberrys, roses, and champagne" I was like yes she does deserve that and what a sweet hubby for realizing. Then when I got to the "ready when he gets home". I was like whaaat??? Has he spent to much time in the sun or what?

Ells- Too many little comments to quote, but you are cracking me up today. Hope you got to go for your weekend getaway. It sounded like a lot of fun.

 Your comments to Mrstee & Dillon killed me! Ya facety! ;)

We didn't end up going camping but we did take a nice day 'road trip' to Monterey. I'm going to post pics on FB as soon as I'm done replying here.

Sunray: lol @ the body parts, my mom is 52, lived here for 20 years and STILL calls her chest her stomach!

Woman had a colonoscopy because the doctor thought she was complaining about her stomach!

    :rofl::bonk:

  10. I was telling Ray the parts of the body because he messing with my uncle and told him that his foot was ashy. My uncle said you can't see my foot, taht's my damn leg. I was crying... So Ray was point to my body parts saying what's that and when he got to my wrist I told him it was my ankle. LMAO I was serious too and he said THAT'S YOUR WRIST. What was I thinking. Ok, I'm gone ya'll

Ray must have you tired!:lol:

Later ladies! Have fun out there while those of us on this side still toil away...

But I am finally drinking a shamrock shake!

  11. That thing is pretty cool, Ells. You buying one? or two?

I'm hopefully going to get my fantasy baseball team set up tonight. If Daniel will cooperate. I think he's just scared!!!!!

Tomorrow BF, daughter and her BF are going to watch my BF get his head shaved for a St. Baldrick's event. Raising money for children's cancer. Should be interesting. Tomorrow night I think I am taking daughter and her BF to the movies.

Sunday is B--I--N--G--O! Wish me luck. Hoping to one day quit my job and become a professional bingo player. star_smile.gif

Eh, what the heck, TWO! What's $12K??

Have fun playing bingo & take pics for FB of BF getting his head shaved! One time a friend of mine shaved his locks & his cousin (my other friend) made it in an 'old man bald' pattern. He just shaved the top & left everything from the top of the ears down. We laughed so hard at that! Then he finally finished the job & took it all off.

I don't have a schedule, mine been done ran off da train tracks! rofl.gif

Lol thanks Nat glad you enjoyed it...but lets not forget, its dada's job, just as its sus job to start the thread and you are the spreadsheet queen nat! :)

Lucky you! I have to say, I don't think I'll miss the monthlies!

Before Sus, it was Kimmy....both are gone now.....someone else is going to have to take over. :(

  12. Hello Yardies. Saturday is the big day that my wife comes POE Atlanta. I cant wait and I pray that she has safe trip tomorrow.

Congrats Myjam! You'll have her in your arms tomorrow!:luv:

YES! That is SO confusing when a story involves women & men. That was the case when I was in The Gambia, too: confusion over he/him/her/etc.

I always have to stop him several times to ask WHO he is referring to. He gets annoyed at having to stop the story but I get annoyed not knowing who the heck he's talking about.

I always found "foot" more confusing.

That and HAND! So *what* exactly hurts??? :bonk::rofl:

Im going to Cali, with my best friend. My sis ter rode the bus earlier this week because Im going to meet her there tomorrow.

But Im goign to shop for Jamaica and see if I can find some things for the kids. 6 hours drive that I do in 3-4 hours :bonk:

You drive carefully lady! Remember the road safety signs in JA....

  13. Ells, I like it when you use this thread for therapy.

Leni also get a :bonk: for calling Ells Bredren. LOL But actually, Steven was on the phone talking to his mother (I thought) when I heard him say "Yeah, mon!" So I was confused. But turns out he WAS talking to his mom, calling her "mon"

This thread is great therapy for me....it's very helpful to know that I'm not the only one feeling certain frustrations.

When Lehi gets really earnest about something, he says stuff like 'but BREDREN' & I always stop him...then he says 'sistren' & I say, "are we from the same mother???" :bonk:

I don't think they have the same gender rules we do...especially since so many country folk (at least in hubby's area) call everyone HE & HIM!

 I mentioned to my best friend yesterday that I was stopping @ home to change into a new dress to pick Steven up in & she was like "Girl, don't waste your time. He knows what you look like." Let's just say he appreciated the dress.

    Awww, that's sweet! :luv:

  14. WTH? he's been on vacation and you been home working and taking care of the kids. HE needs to be bringing you that stuff.

    Good point!

We didn't have weekend plans until just about 5 minutes ago. I *think* we may drive up 4 hours to go to the area my parents live. We won't be staying with them after my Dad pulled his ####### for the last time at Christmas but I'm sure we'll try to make Mom come meet us for a visit somewhere. BUT, we'll go to Lake Shasta & camp with some friends & their friends who have a patio boat, a house boat & a motorhome. The weather has been 80 during the day there so if hubby is up for it when he gets home from school, we'll pack the camping gear & head up tonight!

  15. But now a cute one for the moms a friend just sent me:

    WHY GOD MADE MOMS

Answers given by 2nd grade school children

    Why did God make Mothers?

    1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.

    2. Mostly to clean the house.

    3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

    How did God make mothers?

    1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.

    2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.

    3. God made my mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of?

    1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.

    2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?

    1. We're related.

    2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's mom like me.

What kind of a little girl was your mom?

    1. My mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.

    2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would be pretty bossy.

    3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?

    1. His last name.

    2. She had to know his background. Like, is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?

    3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?

    1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my mom eats a lot.

    2. She got too old to do anything else with him.

    3. My grandma says that mom didn't have her thinking cap on.

Who's the boss at your house?

    1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.

    2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.

    3. I guess mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between moms and dads?

    1. Moms work at work and work at home and dads just go to work at work.

    2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.

    3. Dads are taller and stronger, but moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friends.

    4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.

What does your mom do in her spare time?

1.. Mothers don't do spare time.

    2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?

    1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.

    2. Diet. You know, her hair…I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?

    1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.

    2. I'd make my mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it not me.

    3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

WHEN YOU STOP LAUGHING -- SEND IT ON TO OTHER MOTHERS, GRANDMOTHERS, AND AUNTS....and anyone else who has anything to do with kids or just needs a good laugh.

  16. I had to say MIGHT BE because Aunt flo is due in town any day now.

Bummer! Hey, weird question...I wonder how many of us are on the same 'schedule' ?...my auntie is due to show up at my doorstep any time now too. :P

Mawning Afternoon Yardies :star: Thank you all for all your support :yes: my Hubby came home and just fit right in :luv: it was so easy to get the kids up and dressed and out the door and Fat has been very good and when he slips my hubby calls his name once and he's like :innocent: i am going to post my review soon so you all can get the details but it was quite a journey and very emotional for us :crying::yes:
