Awww, thanks Tee! I haven't been around much cause I've been going by the mantra my Mama taught me..."if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." Since things have been a bit rough, I didn't want to come on here & bring my dark cloud with me. I can tell that I've done some of that by checking in & sharing my stuff. I think I'll have to go away until I can be a little brighter.

His excuses are exactly what you wrote in the 1st part, he doesn't want me to get mad (or hurt me) if he told the truth. I've asked him countless times, "when you tell me the truth, do I ever get mad?" and his answer is always "no". I don't know if he'll ever overcome chronic lying. This is what we are seeing right now...& I've given him a chance to redeem himself after we talked to the counselor & he repeated his behavior just a few weeks later so at this time, things are not looking so good. He gets one more chance, the 3rd time is the charm one way or another.

Ells, I love you to death and you know this. So, please take this with a grain of salt. You are harsh. I see A LOT of myself in you. I tend to fight for the thoughts in my head because I KNOW they are right. And, granted, they probably are. But, you have to take into consideration the other person. It's been a long journey for me to get to the point to say even if I am right, I may not be right for this particular situation. Flexibility. Compromise. And, sometimes you just say aw, #### it....no one is going to die if we don't do it this way. And, if he crashes and burns, I say good try.... not..... told you so!

But, he absolutely has to be honest. Everything else can be worked out. But, if he's lying about the little stuff, you tend not to trust him at all. Once that's gone, it's gone IMO. I mean really, if he lies about the sandwich he just ate, am I going to believe him about something big like talking to a woman? I think not. Ask him why he lies about the little stuff EVERY time you catch him. Maybe there is a pattern.....like.....and, I'm sorry, Ells....like you overreact and he can't take that. YOU have to work on the overreacting part. HE has to work on the lying. No one person is to blame for everything. Work on it one day at a time, my friend.

I am harsh. I really do have poor relationship skills. I've been conditioned to be this way to protect myself so it's true what you say. And you're so right, I'm trying to work on my flexibility & compromising skills. I try real hard to let him find out things for himself & not rub it in his face if things don't go well. Just as long as it isn't going to negatively affect me, I let him learn for himself. But I too am a work in progress (with many steps backwards quite often it seems).

We are at a point where there isn't much trust in this relationship due to all the petty lies. I can be a nag but when it comes to him telling the truth & me overreacting, I'm not sure that's the problem. He always admits that I've never come down on him for being honest about something but when I catch him in lies, the ish hits the fan! Even the counselor said that when trust is gone (as is the case with us), it takes a long time to rebuild yet he doesn't seem to grasp that everything is not going to be okay right away & especially when he just keeps up with the lying. I hope I can still be here on VJ in a little less than 2 years chatting about ROC & how we've made it through the rough stuff. Also, I hope I can come on here chatting about some positive things instead of venting about our ####### but I'm grateful to have this place & you ladies since many of you have been through similar even if not in your current relationships. I know it gets old when one person is just complaining about ish all the time but you know, that's how it goes sometimes. I hope things turn around soon or that we come to some kind of decision.

Thanks for telling it like it is. I appreciate it. For real! Sometimes it's hard to swallow but it certainly makes me step back & take a look at my actions & again, appreciate the honesty when others might sometimes be afraid to say something for fear of hurting feelings or whatever. I know VERY well that I'm FAARRR from perfect & I'll be the first to admit I have pretty poor relationship skills so this is a huge learning experience for both of us. We want this to work & more than ever do I now understand what people mean when they say 'marriage is hard work'! I keep saying this but only time will tell if we can work through our issues & become the team/family we've always hoped for.

In Ells defense, I think sometimes her choice of words in poor. I do not believe she meant to state it that way. I get what she's saying though. It's not about having friends of the opposite sex. It's not even about telling your SO about certain friends in particular. JAE is right in that you will probably never know ALL their friends of the opposite sex just cause you can't possible be around 24/7. What I think Ells is all about, and correct me if I'm wrong, Ells......it's about LYING about the whole thing and then her catching him. It's about his pattern of lying over stupid little things. Her rant was more or less if he could just be honest, it wouldn't be a thing.

That being said, I have mostly male friends. I would not do well if someone told me I couldn't have those friends cause of what MIGHT happen.

None of that is insurmountable. But, it's going to take a lot of time, patience, and communication. I'm so sorry both of you are going through tough times. I wish you both the very best.

You TOTALLY 'get it' JG! Thank you for understanding my point. It's the LIES that are getting on my last nerve, not his choice of friends. Of course, when he lies about who he's visiting with, it does make me wonder why he feels the need to, like what is he hiding. I also have mostly guy friends & he wouldn't ask me to give them up, nor would I if he tried to. However, by the same token, I don't spend a lot of time alone with any of them & if I were to, he'd have just as much of a problem with it as I would. What the heck do I need to be going over to some guy's house for a few hours a couple time's a week for?? I have no need for that, my husband (& supposed best friend) is at home. He'd be the green-eyed monster if I acted the way he acts sometimes. But the real issue is the lying. I really don't spend a lot of time checking on him but as his wife, I do have a right to ask things like "who was that?" when I hear a female voice on the phone calling him. When he tries to cover up by saying it's one of his guy friends, that just insults me to my core. And I completely agree with JAEnglish & what she is saying. (In fact, I think I'm going to read what she wrote to him tonight.) I give my husband every opportunity to act like a man, but when he's constantly lying about ish, he's acting like a child. Anyway, it is what it is & whatever happens, happens.

Sometimes that is so true. And part of me thinks why allow that phockery?? Seems like the more time a man is allowed to spend with a female other than his partner, the more opportunities there are for that relationship to become more than 'friendly'.

I know that's right, I'm not having it not even a little bit. My husband already thinks I'm . so he knows not to try me all my male friends are gay and he knows it, I told him when he touch this US soil he better have his mind right because I have 0% for non-sence.

It's good to set your expectations up front so there's no confusion on what's acceptable. And if they aren't ready to comply with them, they aren't ready to be with you. (That's what I've learned lately.)

LOL @ BlessMe w/all your man's female friends better be gay! Sometimes I feel that way too but I realize he needs to have the occasional female friend as well. I have a lot of guy friends but the difference is is that I don't keep much contact with them these days. If I see them places, then great! If we are planning a group get-together, then maybe more contact than usual, but on a day-to-day basis we don't talk much. And I'd never lie to him about speaking with any of them since I have nothing to hide.

On another note though with all this kid talk, I'm starting to warm to the idea of one day having hubby's daughter here with us. I've always been open but reluctant. Her & I had a little conversation on the phone the other day & it was very cute! Now she wants to talk to me all the time. Apparently she can fire off the raw patwah like nobody's business but when she speaks to me, she uses very 'proper' english. I say, "Hi Brittney, how are you?" and she replies, "I'm very good, thank you...and how are you?" Just makes me smile! Then she shushes her friends in the background so she can hear better. LOL!

Okay, I read back a few pages & now I know JQ is preggo! Congrats! But with the rest of your VJ kid stories, I'm about to go get my tubes tied!

And yes, I agree Finesse, chocolate sandwich cookies are a really sucky substitute for real Oreos!

Hubby & I had a major blowout this weekend but resolved it by yesterday & were back to loving eachother. Since we saw his counselor friend a few weeks ago, he had promised to make an effort to stop lying about ish & especially stupid little ish. Well, he fabricates a story Saturday afternoon about going up to the bus stop to meet his friend Marcos but I quickly found out he was really just out in front of our place talking to his female friend who had been 'jogging by'. I don't have so much of a problem with him having female friends (within reason) but the fact that he made up a story about seeing a guy friend because he thought I'd get pissed off about visiting with the girl made me HOT! I started screaming at him & I'm sure the whole neighborhood heard us....his friend out front did...she's scared of me now though we've never met. At that point I told him we were done since he can't stop lying. It was a rough rest of the day & night. Sunday morning I woke up after finally being allowed to go back to sleep (what do I want?? I want some friggin SLEEP!!) & got up & went to see a morning movie. "Babies" was super cute for anyone who might have it playing in your city. Then I ran a couple errands & by the time I got back, we'd both had plenty of time to think about things. I decided I didn't really want him to go (but I was damn sure about to buy him a one-way ticket back home on Sat) & I think he decided this ish will not fly around here! Time will tell. We made up & he said 'he's glad he has his wife back'. Next weekend better be much better cause I'm tired of wasting weekends on this bull!

One good thing that happened today is that I met with a photographer that the pastor refered me to and he has done ms. new jersey , donald trump's the apprentice cast and more. At first he said $2500 and then I said ok bye I'll get a disposable camera and get a crackhead to snap pics, he died laughing and I said really, how low can you go? He said $1000, I said nope then he said $800 and I was like lets do $300 and I buy you lunch and he said cool. BUT, there's always a but. I promised him that I would use him for the wedding in JA next year because he's building a international portfolio.

WOW KJ! That's some impressive haggling there! That's cheaper than what I paid for my photographer & she was a friend at that. My Mom was also not completely satisfied with her work after she saw a co-worker's wedding photos. Oh well....you done good though!

BTW, I also went and ordered my cake today. $75 bucks AND mommy dearest covered it!

One of the girls from the court called me rolling she said that made her day was handwalking it over to the enforcement officer They picked him up but paid 25.00 and they let him go and he had to appear in court and of course never showed up! One ras ediot!

Hello my beautiful Ladies -- just wanted to let ya'll know I'm hanging in there, but still having a difficult time because I'm still in denial. I also wanted to say thank you for all the support. My mind is still not right, so I haven't been on here in a while. One day I'll get right, I just don't know when. Thanks to all those who keep me updated on what's going all and congrats to all the new moms and such. Just cause I'm not here, don't mean I don't think about you guys. I really miss "poe thang" and "chile" -- It's going to take a long time for my broken heart to mend itself together again. I pray everyday, but I still feel the pain as if it was yesterday. It's going to be really hard for me next month. I was to spend my 40th birthday in Jamaica with my grandmother and celebrate our birthdays together. Her birthday would have been May 24th. She's my everything --

I was just talking about you to hubby the other day & he totally knows how you feel. In his words he said, "yeah, it gonna take a likkle time"....it's been over a year & hubby still mourns her loss regularly. Just take it easy Lawny.

Philly, you will love this. BF made me an 8 ft. x 3 ft. planter box......17 bags of topsoil, 3 flowers, and some mulch. Plus, he planted 5 flowers in a pot and put it on edge of patio. Took him 4 hours just to get that stuff ready, with some running around. Glad he made the darn box at firehouse or it would've been an all day event. Anyhow, Go out there last night to let dog in......flower pot in the middle of the yard, holes in planter box. Needless to say, dog got his head shoved in the holes and beat. Poe thing!

I am researching growing veggetables in flower boxes. BF has a garden in back of firehouse.....tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, banana peppers, and jalapenos. Maybe lettuce and watermelon this year too. He's got me wanting to grow something edible. I have this big ugly slab of concrete in my yard that used to house a shed until previous family divorced and he took it with him. I want to build flower boxes on it and grow stuff.....fence it in sides and top (lots of squirrels) I have like 12' by 24' to play with on that and 10' by 8' in another spot. Planning on working on those boxes this year and not actually planting anything till next. Kind of excited though.

I also am doing different veggies this year as well I want to be able to eat all the veggies in my garden.

This is what I grew last year:

Tomatoe, white potato,calallou, scotch bonet pepper, banana pepper, mint

This is the new stuff im planting this year:

Cabbage, lettuce, cucumber, eggplant, yellow and green squash, calabash squash and white and red onions.

I would like to do carrots but i would need tofind a plant too late to sew seeds we consume a lot of carrots in my house .

Yes enclosing your veggies will be a great idea cause dem squirells are crazy I saw one take a tomato and run! hot mess LOL

@ the squirrel....they're little thieves! Hubby saw one at the park one time take off with a man's keys as he was stretching. The man was yelling for people to stop the squirrel! Finally I guess the yelling was enough to make him drop the keys & run. LOL!

My cousin's property is on top of this hill in Bettletown chile one night we came in from the club and I stood at the bottom crying for 15 minutes before my cuz realized I wasn't in the house I couldn't do it I told him I would sleep in the bush he dragged me right up that hill and told me to go to bed

What a funky week it has been. First, yesterday found out a co-worker (not close but part of my crew) was shot in front of his house Tuesday night. He & his son both got shot...from the little bit of news that there is, it sounds like a drive-by...his son was kind of a thug.

Then to hear about Shrewdie/ Rosa, that just really made the week funky. I've been thinking about her since finding out. Don't know why this has hit so hard but it has.

My brother is a dead beat dad. He has 3 children and 2 BM's...SMH. His little girl turned 2 and his BM called me asking could I send her some $$$ for the little girls party...I sent her something Western Union but I told her that I can't always send $$$ cause I didn't lay up and get that baby. I love my niece though. She's a cutie. I always want to be a part of her life. Then my brother had the nerve to get mad at me cause I still talk to the BM...I told him "N....BOOM" Leave me out of the foolishness...its not about him, the BM, me or anyone...its about that baby girl. Then later on that night he sent me a text asking if I could pay his phone bill...why I still have not responded to that one and I won't be ever. Poe Thang, he needs to get his stuff together!

Well today I got a suprise at work that they blocked the use of VJ. Oh well I will try to mak eit on in the evning occassionally. I went for my appt yesterday at the OB/GYN and it is confirmed I am 6 weeks 5 days pregnant. My due date is December 12. The doctor said he will due a sonogram May 4 and maybe I will have a suprise of twins (LOL my husband almost fell out of the chair when he said that) Anyways my heart goes out to Sherwdies family I didnt know her but this is still so sad.

Oh please, those charts are out of date! I think when they 'standardized' them in the 50s, the weights were lower. Back then, women were not very 'musclely'. More women today are active than were back then. And of course, muscle weighs more than fat. Even if I shed every bit of fat except the minimum on my body, with the muscles I have (underneath I have the body of Xena! LOL!) I'd also go way over those weight limits & be classified as overweight.

In other useless news: I put two pics up today in my 'Random Stuff' album on FB. They're of a car I took a picture of this morning parked in our neighborhood...we were on our way to the bus stop & I've been in awe of this vehicle since I first noticed it. The owner has a SERIOUS hoarding problem & slowly there has been more & more stuff accumulating in this car. These days there is only a small space in the driver seat where the owner can drive. I don't know HOW they don't get stopped by police & ticketed!
