Hey, guys- just to update, I got my card yesterday- all shiny and new
Congratulations, Kimcorene! Don't fall asleep holding it!!!
CONGRADS Kimcorne on getting your green card in the mail today
-
I know
. Hubby says he is glad we no longer have the USCIS cloud over our heads, at least for right now.
It does feel very good, doesn't it? However, I'm finding myself already starting to gather evidence for when we'll be removing conditions! I know it's early, but better be super prepared so next time around we'll hopefully get it done without an interview!
i thought i was the only one
although our i.o. indicated we would not have an interview again (not sure why she would say that since um the one thing predictable about uscis is that they're unpredictable)
canadianmade i've still got my fingers and toes crossed for you.
Thank you still waiting on this damn outcome on our interview very sad if you ask me that it is taking this long. I do hope they will tell me something soon, its getting so frustrating. I have heard though, usually if you are scheduled for a 2nd interview, they send you a letter a week after the interview, but I havent received anything so that makes it, if this practice is true it makes it reassuring to know I am waiting for my file to be touch since I can imagine it is collecting dust for 2 months.
I'm actually doing the same- Hubby says I need something to occupy my time. So, I'll be designating a folder for all the stuff I think is relevant, then organizing it properly when the time comes.
CONGRADS KIMCORENE
Congratulations to everyone, wish I new what the green card looked like.Still pending at CSC, had and infopass appointment last week? maybe the week before and was told we are still within processing times. So we will wait a few weeks and go in again.
I agree belinda63, I wish I knew what the green card looks like myself. Sorry you are going through this ####### with USCIS, I am going through the same ####### too, I do hope you will get good news soon. Good luck to you.

Thanks, guys. I had a class today, so I didn't get in til just now. Anyway, here are the intricate details: We got there at about 12- we left home early, lol and hung out in the car for a bit. I needed to use the restgroom, so we decided to go in about 40 mins early. The security guards told us we need to wait til at least 12:30 before we could go in. Anyway, I got to use the restroom and we went back to the car. When we returned, they did the whole X-raying and stuff and sent us to the reception counter (there are two lines- one for Infopass, another for interview). They scanned the interview letter and sent us in to the waiting room. There were quite a few couples there waiting, along with people waiting for Info[####. In any event, we waited for about 30 minutes-with my husband keeping me entertained as usual, lol, though I did laugh a little loudly a few times,
.
We finally heard my name and both my names were actually pronounced correctly,
. We had a female IO and first she stopped at the copy machine in the hallway and asked for our driver licenses to make a copy. We then proceeded to her office- yes, an office- not a cubicle, like some places. She asked us for proof of citizenship, my social security card and birth certificate and just verified the originals of all the stuff we had submitted. She also asked for Hubby's W2s for 2007 which we didn't have, so I offered our 2008 tax return, W2 and pay stubs for the past three months. While she's punching all this stuff and adding it to our file, she asked me how we met. She also asked about the type of visa I came on, my internship and the place I did it. She also asked if I had completed the two yr requirement- I gave her the waiver approval (which she kept).
We were then asked for proof of shared life. We gave her all copies of our joint stuff- bank statementS, health and car insurance, etc, lease, bills. Which she didn't look at, just punched it and put it in the file. She asked if either of us had been previously married, any children other than the one we are currently expecting and all the yes/no questions from the I-485.
Then she asked to see pictures and I asked what kind did she want to see. She asked what kind we have and hubby says "well, we have three albums". We gave her all three and she looked at a few wedding pics. Her reaction was "Oh, a real wedding. All we see is courthouse weddings."
So she looked at probably three pages and asked if I had copies. I told her there were already copies in the file, but we had a couple loose ones, which we offered. She pointed to a pic with both of us and my aunt and asked whose mom that was, and I said, that's my aunt. She also asked Hubby to show her his family in the pics. She also asked where we honeymooned.
After that she verified our address and compared it to what she had in her system and asked to which did we want the card sent
. Then it was housekeeping- she gave me the approval letter and the letter saying we had been notified about removing conditions, which we both signed. And that was it,
As an aside, when we were putting back the albums in the bag, I had to remove all the letters and cards we had brought to make room. When she saw that she was like "Wow, you certainly brought a lot of documents. You were well prepared- one of the few." So, anyone with upcoming interviews- it's better to be over-prepared.
Great story! Congratulations!
CONGRADS KIMCORENE on getting approved for your green card, and thank you for sharing your story
You definately deserve this honestly since you went threw some ####### from aholes USCIS. Go and celebrate.
-
Kimcorene,
Hope your interview goes smooth today!
Thanks, guys. We spent today at church (as always) and hubby wanted to practice some questions, but when we got back we got sidetracked with putting together baby furniture we bought yesterday,
, so we didn't get that done. But, we aren't nervous or anything- hopefully all that free time tomorrow morning wont find me panicking,
.
Good luck today Kimcorene on your interview and hope you bring us back an approval
Sending Approval vibes your way!
Canadianmade - did you ever take your road test? I was just looking at your timeline...Just curious!!!
Hey Beantownbabe no I havent taken the road test yet, I dont think I am ready yet for it, need to practice more. Still waiting to hear word about the interview, isnt it ridiculous or what. 55 days and still nothing.
Absolutely unbelievable! I just keep heaving huge sighs each time I read that there is no news and you are still counting the days. I don't remember - did you call anyone at USCIS yet? Get practicing your driving skills in the meantime!
Tell me about it, I totally hate USCIS honestly for what they are doing to me. I have no clue what, I am even waiting on at all, I wouldnt mind waiting, if I knew the reason ,but I dont even know that, so thats what is pissing me off the most. Honestly this ####### is total injustice, its not even funny, and to be quite honest, I am happy for everyone on here that got approved but on the other hand, it kinda bothers me abit that everyones approval has been smooth sailing and I am still waiting, by the time I get it, I would be old LOL, it just wont be a very happy moment as it has been for many others, so I definately wont be celebrating once this all comes to an end. I just think setting people up like giving them an EAD card, AP, SSN card and stuff of that nature is crappy because when you have the interview and you have no clue what your fate holds, and your waiting for a long period of time, you start to wonder why would they give someone all these things if the result of the interview is taking so long or going to deny someone. I appreciate everyones support and kind words, but being in this position isnt easy at all, and everyone on here gets to move on with their life while I am still waiting on my fate and I dont even have a set in stone status, yes I am here legally but what would that status be considered as? No I didnt call USCIS because honestly its a big waste of time and I am going to make an infopass and see someone in person. Honestly right now, driving is the least of my worries, I am more concerned about my immigration status, not to be rude.
-
Anyone have any news? Still nothing here....
Wish I had any news, but we're 19 days after the interview and still no updates on CRIS and nothing in the mail..keep your fingers crossed that Chris's green card gets approved soon! And good luck to anyone else out there waiting for theirs!
Good luck to you KPC and I know how it feels to not get an approval at the interview because the samething happened to us, we had our interview Feb 3, 2009 and it has been 55 days today and still no word about our results from the interview, so we are waiting too and it sucks honestly, I did checking the online status and checking the mailbox, but it just got tiring and also stresses you out so I have just been patient ever since and hope it turns out for the best. I do think it is cruel to make people wait so long without an answer though.

Hey Aos80 damn that sucks my friend and very sorry to hear that you havent heard anything about your case ever since you had your interview. It sure is a long time you have been waiting and I am on the same boat too my friend, I have been waiting since Feb 3 2009 and still dont have an answer like you did. I am planning on making an infopass appointment by the end of this month. Let us know what happens after your appointment. Good luck to you and you will get your green card. Just curious how did your interview go?
-
Just let you know, i got my green card in mail on March 21.
Congratulations to all the approved couples.
CONGRADS elieenho on getting approved for your green card
.
Curious... we were last touched for Green Card on 1-26-09 about the same time EAD was granted... Filed first week of October... was a CSC transfer...someone give me some good feelings please
Hey Spies Like US I bet you will hear something about your green card soon, you will be appproved in no time, just keep positive. I have been waiting for a decision from my interview that happened Feb 3 and still nothing so I am in the same boat also.
-
Bad news Canadian, don't let it get you down. Easy for me to say I know but believe me I know these things will all come good ... it just takes time.
Can we run a list on how many of our new immigrants have gotten laid off? I got into work this morning only to be told that the company is shedding all new staff. Yep, a month and half later I'm back on the dole ... or not as I can't get the dole.
So, our one income is down to zero income and as I couldn't work for a few months there, our savings are pretty much ate up.
Grrrrrrrr.
Are you serious Eli damn that sucks big time buddy and I am sorry to hear that about your job this damn economy I tell you. Where were you working? All I know is that the health care field is the only stable job here in Ohio, I am a nurses aid and it pays pretty good, before this job I applied everywhere Target as a cart attendant and nothing which paid minimum wage as sad as that is and didnt hear anything. I hope you will find something soon and it sucks that peoples livelyhood is on the line due to this terrible economy, good luck dude. Yeah I am still on the wait for my green card and I am blaming it on the ecomomy lol.
hi guys! Its been a while since i last posted here but i do check the message every week. Just to update you about the status of my application. On Saturday I received my GREEN CARD in the mail without any email notification and no update on the website. Its been such a smooth journey for me. THANK GOD!! What's amazing is that...it took us exactly one year since we filed our fiance visa application up to the time when we received my Green Card!
More power to everyone!! Thank you very much!!
CONGRADS necko on getting approved for your green card, at least you are USCIS free for 21 months and I hope you did celebrate. I bet your friends and family cant wait for you to come home and celebrate.
She finally received her AP -- there is still no updates to the site but the AP came in the mail today. Hopefully - the EAD will soon follow or the green card itself!!!!!!!! Finally you can put a new date under our names! AP approved 3/19 & rec'd today 3/23. More good news to come, I'm sure.CONGRADS krsound on getting your AP and so sorry your process is being so brutial, I am going through a struggle myself with finding out the final decision on my case actually, so I hope to hear something soon about my green card.
-
Congratulations, everybody! Rosie/Kimcorene won't have any work to do for us pretty soon with all the GC's flying around here!
CanadianMade - I was going to ask if there is any news, but I guess you'd be on here screaming from the rafters if there were, *sigh* Sorry, mate. Didn't I read somewhere that they have 60 days to give you at least a response? Maybe I'm wrong or misread. How long is it now?
Hey Beantownbabe no news yet
and if I did as you said I would make it very well known that I got approved but I can as of yet. It has been 48 days since I have heard anything from aholes, I mean this is really cruel and they are power abusers. I just dont know how these people can sleep at night honestly messing with peoples lifes, the problem is they are American citizens so who cares to the immigrants, but if it were the otherway around they would ###### and complain as well, they just are not in touch with reality at all. I think it is 90 days I am not too sure actually but if I dont hear anything, I am seriously going to make an infopass appointment and raise hell at my local office and give them a piece of my mind and want answers. Thanks for the support and for the record I hate USCIS with a passion.
-
Green Card in mail 03/21/2009.
Case still not updated in system. No email about Welcome Letter, Card production, etc.
Wishing everybody a speedy approval.
I hope, Canadianmade you will soon get your approval. This is redicilous, but unfortunately there is not a lot we can change about.
When I naturalized it took them 1 1/2 years to work on my case!
Sib
CONGRADS Sib on getting approved for your green card
I do hope myself Sib that I will get approved soon myself. It has been 48 days since I have heard anything and I do feel like I have been cheated out of my approval, just no excuse in my opinon. As I said if I dont hear anything by the end of this month I am marching down to the local office and raising hell.
-
Good luck with your interview Kimcorene. You are going to the same office I went.
))
Canadianmade, I hope you hear that you got approved soon. I'm waiting too. The IO still hasn't send me the notice she said she was going to send in regards to the instructions
how to resubmit my medical. She did give me a copy of the second page so I just took that to the doctor yesterday so they can start working on it.
I recieved my I-130 approval though I think few days ago.
How long does it take to send a mail I'm getting worried again. I might just make an infopass if it doesn't come in couple weeks. The I130 still hasn't been updated though on online case status, nor on the automated phone system.
To everybody who got their greencard, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Thank you eck2006 I do hope to hear something very soon myself, I am really getting frustrated with the whole thing, I just dont get why it is taking this long to hear something. I hope you hear something too eck2006 and I dont know how long it would take to get something in the mail inregards to a RFE at an interview, but it shouldnt take that long in your case. Good luck my friend and hope you hear something soon. I will be making an infopass appointment if I dont hear anything by the end of this month.
-
Card production ordered on the 20th of March. Given I have no i-94, EAD or Letter of Approval I really hope I don't get pulled over by the cops for the next week or so.
Good luck to all in the upcoming ... Canadian, call or email the USCIS Ombudsman, it's worth a shot.
I am personally thinking that if I dont hear anything by the end of this month, I am going to make an infopass appointment to find out what the hell is going on and take the advice you shared. Damn redicilous is all I am saying. Congrads on getting the email and you should have the card in no time.
-
Congrats! I guess things may be a little slow around here for the next week...I don't think there are any more interviews until mine on the 30th- can't wait!
I know I also noticed that myself Kimcorene things are slow in here and your interview is coming up in 10 days, good luck to you on your interview and I know you will get approved, bring us back an approval.

(still got my fingers and toes crossed for you man)
I dont really know Kang Lang I wasnt given a time frame by the interviewer she just told us to wait for the decision in the mail. Thanks my friend and hope something good comes out of this soon.
-
Well here's another couple to add to the approved list ... we got approved today for our 2 year Green Card.
I'm knackered so this will be short and sweet, but here's the gist of what happened - which wasn't much really.
Well we arrived very early - 10.30 or so for an 11 o'clock appointment and sat in the waiting room until 11.40, Mercedes was studying while I watched the video they were playing on the Declaration of Independence - featuring every A list actor in Hollywood it seems.
When we were finally called we were greeted by a very friendly lady (and caring it would seem - while she called us she also asked for a Spanish speaker to help translate some instructions for the previous interviewee).
She asked for the usual - passports, i-94, Oregon ID. She then listed all the "Have You Ever ..." questions. The she asked for the utility bills and that kind of thing. Then she asked us how we met, how long we knew each other before we started dating and how long we lived together before we married.
She asked us our wedding date 4 or 5 times and she looked at some wedding photos and other general photos - I let her keep them. She asked what the age difference was between us and when we said 15 years she just said she never would have guessed - I said that was because Mercedes is very mature and I'm very immature. She asked us if we had any religious differences and we both agreed that we didn't.
So after all that she said she was approving us today and that as we would have the Green Card inside 2 weeks, then took my EAD, AP and i-94. She said we didn't need a passport stamp or letter as we aren't traveling for 5 weeks yet. She also didn't explain the 2 year renewal rule.
So that was us. She stood up and shook our hands and wished us a Happy St. Patrick's Day - the door men were also handing out green lays to people.
Note for all address changers. Even though we changed our address ages ago and USCIS sent us back change of address confirmation AND the interview letter in the mail to our new address, the form she had to fill in listed our old address. Luckily I had all the USCIS address change stuff with me and could show her that - might be worth remembering if you are in that situation too.
Glad it's over - all the staff we saw at the Portland Oregon office were really cool and down to earth - I had Mercedes expecting to find the carcasses of babies outside the office as I had painted such a bad picture of USCIS workers - or as I said once, ####### Cheney would make a great USCIS officer. Well, Portland is the nice end of things - compared to other people's experiences we were blessed.
So, this day 14 years ago my mum passed away, this day 1 year ago we got our K1 approval and today we got our 2 year greencard. I think someone up there likes us!!!
Canadianmade - still rooting for you brother.
R
Hey Eli thanks for your awesome review of your interview experience and a big CONGRADS to you on getting approved for your green card. I told you buddy that everything was gonig to be alright and you had nothing to worry about. Talking about a happy moment, your mums passing away 14 years which I am totally sorry about but I can imagine she must be so happy, and all the hoops you went threw with immigration now its your chance to relax and celebrate. Thank you man for the support, it is totally needed right now and I do hope to hear some good news soon about my interview. I am on day 43 with no decision LOL. Take care my friend.
We're crossing our fingers for you Canadianmade! Sending positive vibes your way!Hey Gypsyangel thank you so much for your support and sending positive vibes my way, I can use it right now honestly. It has been 43 days since I heard anything about my interview outcome, its totally sad.
-
Hey my fellow October filers,
Hope all is well..A big congrats to everyone who had their interviews and was approved, got welcome letters and the actual permanent resident card and to those who received their interview letters..Glad everything is going quite nicely.
CanadianMade,
Glad to know you keeping busy and keeping positive and hope everything goes well for you tomorrow Eli.
Take care guys and have a blessed week!
Hey SweetnSexc yes I am keeping busy with work, I work 2nd and I am trying to keep postive about things and hope to hear something from USCIS soon, its just way too long now.
-
Hey everyone how are you guys? CONGRADS to the recent approvals, getting their welcome letter and green cards
. Thanks to the people who shared their interview experience with everyone and glad to hear that everyones experience went well. Update on me, I am still around guys, I just recently moved to a new apartment and have been busy with my new job as a nurses aid so that has been taking alot of my time and plus we dont have the internet till Saturday since we just moved in. Inregards to immigration still havent heard a god damn word yet about my interview since, it has been 5 weeks and still nothing. I wonder how long the madness is going to continue. Anyways guys glad to hear everyones success stories and to those still struggling with USCIS like myself, keep your head up and all we be well in the end. I do hate USCIS for the record guys, seriously with a passion, I think its unbelievable they have done this to many people including me on my status, really f***** up. Anyways guys, I will be back in full swing on Saturday so will let you know if any news has come up.
Hi Canadianmade, really upset to hear you are still waiting for news. But i am glad you found a job, much better to kill time and get payment, right? Don't worry, green card is yours, and you will get it. Did you try to contact USCIS about your case? I know it's really difficult to reach a real person to ask your phone and help you. You are getting there,,,
For me, i received the welcome letter today.
Hi Elieen first of all CONGRADS on getting your welcome letter in the mail and very happy for you. You definately need to celebrate your victory. Yeah I know it is a bummer not hearing anything from USCIS about my interview, still waiting to hear something. I did call USCIS 3 times and even talked to the supervisor and they couldnt tell me anything and said it was still within regular processing time and I should just sit and wait. I contacted our congressman here in Ohio and that didnt help at all, we got the same answer that we already knew that it was pending and waiting for a supervisor to sign off on it, no clue what to think. Yes work has been keeping me busy so I dont think about immigration as much but of course it is still in the back of my mind wondering when I will hear something. Thanks for the words of encouragement and I will let you all know when I hear something.
-
Hey Guys,
Nervous about tomorrow.
Can you check out my post on the evidence we are bringing and suggest additions?
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=185273
Cheers for the good wishes everyone.
Slainte
I just looked over your evidence and you are good to go my friend, you have plenty of evidence and you should definately get approved. Good luck today and bring us back an approval.
after the interview you should have a few green beers. Let us know how it goes.Dude I don't care what color the beer is, if all goes well I'll be drinking more than a few. And if doesn't go well I'll be drinking a few as well ... everyone's a winner.
Of course I'll relate all back to you. Most likely be good news but we will see.
I hear you, I think you probably will be having so many beers the colour of the beer wont even matter LOL. I know everything will be good with you guys and get ready to celebrate and prepare for your trip back to Ireland.
-
Yeah, good luck, Eli! Canadianmade, I got so excited seeing your post, I thought you would be telling us you finally got your card in the mail...hang in there, ok.
I know, thank you KIMCORENE, still havent heard anything since my interview, I have no idea what to think at all, by the end of this month it will be 2 months waiting with no decison, very sick isnt it. Thank you for your support.
-
Who is up next? Barrowboy?!
Tuesday is the big day ... St Patrick's Day for the Irishman. We have all our documents together. Now to photocopy them all and get photos printed out for the interview.
Here's hoping it goes well. And best luck to everyone else and congrats to all those recently passed.
R
Hey Eli good luck to you tommorow on your interview and hope is goes well. I bet you will be approved and hey its on St.Patricks Day very cool, after the interview you should have a few green beers. Let us know how it goes.
-
what an awful experience but congrats courtandgrey! 21months free of the uscis.
canadianmade we're all still with you man!
Thank you guys, you know this is getting really old not knowing anything at all, I just cant believe how long it is taking to get an answer.
Yay! I passed my Road test today! Glad that's out of the way now, too!Canadian - where are you?! I'm hanging out with you here til your approval comes!
Hey Beantown I am still here on VJ, I am still playing the waiting game again, so who knows when it will come. Thanks for your support and hopefully I can tell you guys some good news.
AOS FILERS: OCTOBER 2008
in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
Posted
Hey guys how are you all doing? Well I received a letter from USCIS yesterday and the letter is on a white piece of paper and its concerning my I-485 and it says: please comply with the below checked instructions: you must submit the following documents and or information: there is a checklist of items, the items checked on mine is original birth certificate, a photocopy is not acceptable, and original passport from me, a photocopy is not acceptable. It also says on the letter that no later than 5/10/2009 the documents and or information requested should be submitted to the above address or request a decision based upon the record or withdraw the application/petition, Failure to respond by the above date will result in denial. The question I have for everyone is, is this an RFE and an address is provided in the letter, so do we have to schedule an infopass appointment or do we just walk in to our local office to hand in the required documents? My wife and I were so excited to hear something from USCIS today, and we both feel it is good news and we will be getting the green card once we hand in the required documents and we feel also that it cant be an 2nd interview because if it was, they would have sent us an 2nd interview letter saying date and time and bring the documents we presented in our 1st interview. What do you guys think? I cant believe it has taken 2 months after our AOS interview which was Feb 3 2009 to hear something from USCIS unbelieveable. That is our new update.
