  1. Okay, so the package is finally in the mail and the wait begins. I'm way less stressed about things this time around.

Canadianmade! Great to see you! I was thinking about you the other day when I was here and didn't expect to see you because of your loooooooong ordeal - didn't realize you'd be here cheering us on! Hope life (and wife!) have been treating you well!!! :P

Rosie, the check is the first step! Good for you, now you'll be watching the mailbox like a hawk!

I went to a friend's Citizenship ceremony back in the Summer and couldn't help but imagine what it will be like! Funny though, as soon as they were sworn in and had officially become Citizens, there were people outside handing them papers to register to vote, etc! The ceremony was very nice...

Hey Beantown how are you? I am doing great and the wife is great too no complaints. I was snooping around the other day and saw some familar people so I thought I would drop in and say hi. I will be in this stage in the next few months, May 10 2011 to be exact will be my window to file thanks to a certain somebody I should technically be filing around this time or the next 2 months but my process is way pushed behind. Oh yeah I am hear cheering you guys on because this will be me in the next few months. Good luck to you and good job on mailing your package. Oh yeah how is the baby?

  2. hiya canadianmade, i responded in the roc thread because i hadn't yet seen this thread. glad to hear all is well! sounds like life is treating you well! what a pain that it took you so long to get your 2 year. will you pursue u.s. citizenship? we are just so that my husband can remove the government from our marriage and it makes travel easier. although i believe we'll move to thailand in about 4 years, give him time to finish uni which will take him a wee bit longer due to the struggles with the language but he's hanging in there.

we're both still actually in our same jobs and i will finish uni summer 2011 and my husband is taking 15 units as well. whew...wonder how the rest of our old crew is faring? we had a solid group didn't we?

i took my husband to montreal for an extended weekend for our anniversary in october (his first trip to canada and my first to montreal) loved it! gosh it was uber expensive though.

hope you are having a wondeful holiday season, enjoying good health and at least some prosperity.

Hey that is ok, I did see your response in the ROC thread, and yes cant complain life is good in the good ol USA hahaha. Yes my process took way longer than it should of and also the part I disliked the most was we never got any answers into why they prolonged our case for an extra 7 months. Yes I am going to pursue us citzenship because to get USCIS out of ours life and also to be able to freely travel back and forth to Canada without any problems and to vote also. What are you guys studying? Hey learning a new language is hard, so it will be sometime till he masters it and he will look back and say remember I wasnt able to speak the language and at least hes trying which is very good. I am in process of going to nursing school doing the pre reqs now and still working as a nurses aide at the same nursing home. That is alot of classes to take and working at the same time but you have to do it as its the norm these days. BTW I love Thai food it is so delicious hahaha. Enjoy your holidays and keep in touch. I do wonder how everyone else is doing, I had spoke to Rosie in the Dec ROC thread yesterday and shes doing well.

  3. canadianmade!!! i'll be darned, nice to hear from you as well, i remember how frustrating your journey was so i hope the last year has been wonderful to not think about these jokers in your marriage for a bit. we're doing well...for starters still married  and i plan to stay that way for at least another week  .

how are you and mrs. canadianmade? i actually took my husband for our 3rd anniversary to montreal for a loooong weekend. it was great and canada is still awesome albeit uber expensive.

i hope you'll be back around for a bit.

I know right, it has been such a long time, I am glad to hear you guys are doing well and happy that is awesome. Yes dont remind me about my awful journey it sure was a rough one and hope its smooth in the ROC and citzenship stage. We both are very well ourselves still married and happy and just preparing for the ROC stage and gather ####### together lol. Oh sweet, I have never been to Montreal, but I do hear it is very nice there, and that is a very nice way to celebrate your guys's 3rd yr anniversary and congrads to you guys. Yes Canada is super expensive so everytime my wife and I go to Toronto to visit we always buy stuff from the US and bring it down lol. Oh I wlll be around, just snooped around the other day and saw you guys so I had to say hi.

  4. I know.. I remember all too well how long and stressful your AOS was! Well, I really hope your ROC will be going super smooth and you'll get your 10 yr card in no time, I think you deserve at least one painless immigration process!

My move was stressful but successful, definitely a different climate from Chicago here.. loving it so far! :D

Thank you and hope it does go way better than my conditional green card process fingers cross in the next couple of months. We are saving up for it and just cant wait till this is all done and over with. I am glad to hear that you are enjoying your home and all is well. Time sure does fly and hope you have a smooth ROC process.

  5. @ abranch...i know we're just being worry warts! i just like to feel like it's progressing you know.

@ sonoran songbird, thanks i vaguely remember this from my husband's aos. just have to stay focused! soon very soon about a year or so and no more uscis EVER!

Hey Kang Lang how are you guys? Long time no hear from you nice people hows life treating you guys? I havent been on here in over a yr, felt the need to make an apperance lol, good luck to you guys in the ROC stage.

  6. Hey Canadianmade! It's good to hear from you! Do I remember correctly you finally got your card approved on 8/10/09? :)

Hey Rosie long time no hear how are you? Hows the new place and state treating you? Yeah I got my green card 8/10/09 which in my opinion is such a long time to wait almost a yr really including USCIS holding onto my passport and birth certificate for no reason nor gave me an explantion why they did so. What got me so mad was they give us an interview in 3 months and waited 7 more months to get approved and filers after us got their green card way before me. So I will be ROC in May 10, 2011 thanks to them.

  7. Hey guys how are you all doing? How have the last 2 years been to you guys and anything new and exciting since the approval of your green card? I have been pretty good, I have been at the same job since I been here in the US for about 1.5yr, got my drivers license about 2 months ago and going to school to be come an RN so its been busy and time has pass by so fast. Life has been pretty good, I cant complain went back to Canada a few times which I am more than happy about and about to go back new years eve. I am no where near ROC yet, the earliest I get to remove my conditions is May 10, 2011, since I got approved for residency so late on 8/10/2009, due to USCIS fault, and bureaucracies, they totally screwed me waiting over 10 months to be approved and held on to my passport and documents for no reason and didn't give me any reason or explanation. I personally feel I should already be in the process of ROC already but USCIS screwed it all up, which makes no sense to me they gave me an interview in 3months for my conditional green card, but waited 7 extra months to get approved for my green card. Anyways enough of my ranting, hope to hear from you old friends and good luck to those who are in the ROC stage.

  8. Gosh, it has been a while since I logged on here....

Canadianmade, I cannot believe it took you this long to get your stuff... totally unacceptable... Very happy to know that you are done with stupid USICS for a while....

  19. I am sorry to hear about your problems, I did not think the US govt could keep the passport from another country for so long, after all it is the property of the issuing govt.

We are still pending, there has been no change in our case since his EAD and AOS were issued in January. We are still at CSC with no interview date, nothing. The last inquiry they stated it was being reviewed by an immigration officer, that was in May.

Good luck to everyone waiting and Congrats to everyone who has the green card.

Thanks belinda63, I do think it is quite strange they are holding my passport and birth certificate and not give us a reason why they have it in their possession and what they are doing with them, they already seen my passport and bc. I have been waiting for 9 and half months and still nothing, we did the infopass appointmens twice and nothing, called 1800 several times and nothing, called the congressman 3 times and nothing, we even put in a service request for being over the processing times and still didnt do a damn thing. I am sorry to hear you are going through such ####### with USCIS also with your green card, I think this is so inhumane and hope you will get good news coming your way very soon. Good luck to you.
