  1. Yep, K3 needs to be filed in order to get an immigration visa. And now a lot of immigration officers deny the entrance.

I have read that some people got denied at POE. If your spouse gets denied, it will stay in her record. It can be negative for your K3 process. If I were you, I would file K3 immediately. And getting a tourist visa can be very easy for regular people. But, since your spouse already married you. The thing is a little different.

  2. DS3025 cannot be enough. I was told to send I-693, too. This is the form that you need to attach. That needs to be completed by a USCIS doctor. If you met all the required vaccinations, you can simply find a doctor through USCIS website. Some people could get away with only DS3025. But, you are more likely to get RFE.

When I did POE, the IO was really strict about this medical form. He reminded me to complete with civil surgeon. And it depends on the age. From 2007, they added some new vaccines. I had to take TDAP and HPV.

  3. I am about to get my EAD card. It should be approved soon since I have been waiting for over 90days.

Now, I have been thinking about applying jobs like macy's etc. I know it is not the best job, but it is hard to find a decent job without experience and in this economy. I want to earn some experience during this holiday season.

Has anyone applied jobs online? How did you put your previous job and previous wage?

I tried to apply online for nordstrom, but the website does not let me continue unless I put a state where I worked previously. But, my previous job was in my home country and we use different currency.

Is it ok to apply online even though I do not have EAD yet?

    Any advice? Please.

  4. I have a BA from California State University, but I had to go back to Japan after graduation to get K1 visa.

I stayed in Japan for about two years and worked there.

I guess that working experience in oversea will be so helpful if the work is related.

I grew up in a super small town, so there is few job opportunities. So I worked at a cafe as a shift manager and sales associate. If I try to get a retail sales job or customer service job where you can use foreign languages will be very good. I live very close to disneyland, so I might try there first.

  5. Ya, that's what I heard. Local offices can do service request, but they cannot issue EADs.

I also have heard that contacting local congressmen or women will help because they have a lot of power over USCIS.

My husband tried to do that when our K1 visa was absolutely out of processing time. The congressman's office has a special form of the immigration and his office can do investigate our case immediately.

  6. Ya, I would do both. I have heard that a local office cannot do anything about EAD, but they can do service request.

But, when you call up USCIS, the customer service rep usually transfer you to a supervisor and he/she will ask your name, address, date of birth and take a look at your case.

I tried it, but since I have been waiting for less than 90days, he said I should call up after 90days and he will do service request soon.

  7. It depends on the IO. I got my noa2 after over 7months. Absolutely out of processing time. My husband had to call up USCIS so many times and did even make infopass. None of them helped. So he contacted a congressman. Before the congressman take any action, we got noa2.

USCIS processing time is not very accurate. But, individual case is different and a lot of IOs are super slow or cannot even process paper work based on receipt dates.

  8. They do not care about debts. All they want to know is that your spouse or your co-sponsor makes enough or not.

My husband had a lot of debts like student loans and credit card loans.

Nope, do not even worry about that. My husband makes above poverty line.

I have an interview in Tokyo, Japan. And the counsel really wanted tax return and W2 and recent pay stubs.

That's it. I brought a lot of documents.

  9. If you filed a Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, and it has been longer than 90 days since you filed and you haven't gotten an update from us within the last 60 days, and have not seen any public notice that addresses your case type, please don't wait the extra 30 days. Call customer service immediately.

This is what USCIS website says.

  10. Ok, I have another question about EAD.

I have been waiting for EAD and AP for over 80days.

I have no RFE and no hold.

I kept calling up USCIS. Now, today, some lady told me that I have to wait for another 3months. It seems that this lady had no idea what she was talking about.

EAD and AP are different from AOS. They should be approved withing 90days.

She looked at the local office processing time. Ok, lady, the local offices do not process EAD anymore.

    NBC processes EAD and AP.

I am planning to make infopass next week. Does it really work?

Some customer service reps say I should do service request.

    Did anyone try ?

  11. Ok, I called up USCIS. this lady had no idea what she was talking about. She said I have to wait another three months to hear from them. It is crazy. I have been waiting for over 80days.

She asked me my zipcode and she checked the processing time. She said, oh now the office is processing April16th application. So you have to wait another 3 months.

What?????? I do not get it.

And the local office has nothing to do with my AOS. I filed my AOS in NBC. Not a local office. I went to the local office to do biometric. and my case is still at NBC.

I talked to three other customer service reps last weeks and all of them said I should do service request after I do not hear anything within 90days.

But, this lady says I have to wait for 6 months for EAD.

Crazy. I want to cry. I am so devastated.

  12. Hello. My husband makes way above poverty line. However, from next fall, he is planning to go back to grad school and become a part time worker. I am planning to work fulltime.

It will be no problem if I can get my GC by then. But, it seems that some people have to wait for over a year to get GC. I applied for AOS in July 2008. I wonder if they will not give me GC if my husband becomes part time.

I should be making enough to have both. We are planning to file tax jointly. Please let me know.
