  1. I just got a letter for an interview. I got here with K1.

Do I have to bring MY birth certificate? or just my husband's birth certificate? He is USC and has a passport. His passport is not accepted?

We rent a house with my mother in law. Actually the renter is my husband's uncle, and my mother in law, my husband and I live there. My husband pays rent to his mom. We still have copies of checks for the rent. But, it is not my name. It is my husband's name. Is it ok?

I have a shared bank document, insurance card which shows that I am under his plan, shared credit cards, and marriage certificate. I can print out some bills that mail to me.

    Is it enough?

The thing is that I do not have a ring yet. I have a severe metal allergy and it will be so much money for him to buy a pure silver or gold ring. So he is saving enough money right now to buy in the future.

    Please share your experience.

  2. Yes! Finally, my EAD was approved. I did not get any e-mail. I just checked my status online and it said card production ordered.

I got a letter from a local congressman. He said he contacted USCIS. It took for over 90days and finally I got answer.

I really appreciate everyone who encouraged me.

I really hope that everyone will get good news soon.

    Thank you so much:)

  3. Try to contact USCIS one more time. It is better to do so. Let me tell you that. I called up probably about 6-7 times since last week. Yesterday, I call up USCIS twice. Finally, one gentleman, he was so nice and understood my situation and put service request for me. Other reps are useless. Every single individual said different things. Like oh we are now processing April 16th applications. Oh we are now processing June 2nd applications. Oh usually EAD takes more than 90 days.

Ha? they do not even know what they are talking about.

And it is worth to contact Ombudsman. http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/gc_1221837986181.shtm

you should write e-mail to them and let them know that you called up USCIS and even did infopass.

I had to cancel my infopass because this gentleman did service request for me on the phone.

    It is good to try.

  4. That's what I thought. My husband always says do not get that job, you have a BA. But, to be honest with you, there are so many people who have BAs around. It can be helpful if you have a BA in IT or whatever special skills.

But, I majored communication studies which is pretty much worthless.

And I see a lot of college students who expect a lot of things after college and do not even hold decent fulltime jobs. They are all American. I am not a native speaker, but I will try hard.

I want to apply for a place where immigrants like me have an opportunity to move up. I heard that Macy's does not pay well, but they promote people quickly.

I need to establish a decent working experience here:)

  5. Would you like to share your experience?

I am now searching for a job. Well, I am having a hard time since I have never had a full time job in the US.

And, I do not speak English as my first language.

I am thinking about starting my career at a major department store like Macy's or Nordstrom.

    Has anyone worked there before?

Or know anyone who works there?

Please share your experience here. It will be very helpful!

  6. Hi, I called up USCIS since my case has been over 90days. But, the guy again says different things. He says they are asking everyone to wait another 47days. What??? Where did he get that number?

Case processing time is already updated and now they are processing EAD within 3 months.

I wanted to do service request, but he just asked my zipcode and did not seem to understand that I filed my case at NBC not a local office.

How should I do service request? Should I try to call again?
