I got my interview letter on Friday. It will be on the 10th of December. I am so worried about it!. We might have to move right before that.
Umm, is it bad to move right before the interview?
-
I got my social security number when I was in college here. And after I got here as a K1 holder, I renewed my card. Now, my EAD was approved. Do I have to go to the office again and show the EAD and renew it?
My social security card says I can work only with DHS authorization.
-
I mean just state ID.
-
Did anyone renew your state ID in CA? My ID was expired when my K1 visa was expired. Now, my EAD was approve and I am waiting for my card.
Do I have to wait for my card to arrive in order to renew my ID? Or can I simply print out my approval site and show it to DMV?
-
My EAD was finally approved today. My AP is not yet.
Anyways, I am really happy and at the same time, I am pretty nervous about my job hunting.
I am about to go to the HR building at Disneyland:)
-
Congratulation! Did you start job hunting? I am planning to go to the HR at Disneyland. I have no idea what I can do because I do not speak English as my first language.
Please update your timeline!

Yes! Finally, my EAD was approved. I did not get any e-mail. I just checked my status online and it said card production ordered.
I got a letter from a local congressman. He said he contacted USCIS. It took for over 90days and finally I got answer.
I really appreciate everyone who encouraged me.
I really hope that everyone will get good news soon.
Thank you so much:)
-
Yep, good luck!
Well, the most important thing is to do service request and get a confirmation number.
I was able to do that on the phone. Well, now I have to wait.
When did you go to infopass?
yes, same here. I need to get any jobs. I cannot be picky. I have no money anymore.
-
I got another e-mail from the ombudsman."I am sorry to hear that you have not received a response yet. I understand your frustration and I will forward your case to the Customer Assistance Office at USCIS. You should receive a response shortly "
Hopefully I can get something soon.
-
Congratulation! I cannot wait to get mine. What kind of job are you planning to have?
-
Try to contact USCIS one more time. It is better to do so. Let me tell you that. I called up probably about 6-7 times since last week. Yesterday, I call up USCIS twice. Finally, one gentleman, he was so nice and understood my situation and put service request for me. Other reps are useless. Every single individual said different things. Like oh we are now processing April 16th applications. Oh we are now processing June 2nd applications. Oh usually EAD takes more than 90 days.
Ha? they do not even know what they are talking about.
And it is worth to contact Ombudsman. http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/gc_1221837986181.shtm
you should write e-mail to them and let them know that you called up USCIS and even did infopass.
I had to cancel my infopass because this gentleman did service request for me on the phone.
It is good to try.

That's what I thought. My husband always says do not get that job, you have a BA. But, to be honest with you, there are so many people who have BAs around. It can be helpful if you have a BA in IT or whatever special skills.
But, I majored communication studies which is pretty much worthless.
And I see a lot of college students who expect a lot of things after college and do not even hold decent fulltime jobs. They are all American. I am not a native speaker, but I will try hard.
I want to apply for a place where immigrants like me have an opportunity to move up. I heard that Macy's does not pay well, but they promote people quickly.
I need to establish a decent working experience here:)
-
Would you like to share your experience?
I am now searching for a job. Well, I am having a hard time since I have never had a full time job in the US.
And, I do not speak English as my first language.
I am thinking about starting my career at a major department store like Macy's or Nordstrom.
Has anyone worked there before?
Or know anyone who works there?
Please share your experience here. It will be very helpful!

Finally I was able to put service request!
-
Forth try, I was finally able to talk to a nice guy who understands what he is doing. He said those reps are wrong and I could do service request after 90days. He sent service request soon and gave me a confirmation number. He said I should get something within 5 days, but in same cases, it will take up to 240 days. What???
-
I sent e-mail to Ombudsman. It worked. They responded me so quickly. They said they will investigate my case immediately, so I should get something within a week.
-
I just made a infopass and took a look at the receipt of my EAD noa1.
My A number was A 78 xxx xxx.
However, the noa1 states A 078 xxx xxx. The correct number except this extra 0.
Should I call up? It seems that anytime I call up USCIS, they just tell me well, you should be fine, or do not worry. Really uncertain or maybe they just do not even care.
-
I just made infopass appointment. I do not think it will help, but better than not doing anything.
I called up USCIS and got a different person. She said the same thing and now they are processing April 23rd application and I am within normal processing time. So I just gave up calling them.
After infopass, I will try to contact ombudsman if I do not get anything.
-
I just made infopass. I have been waiting for EAD for over 90days.
Now, how was the infopass? I was suggested by several members here that I make infopass.
I tried to do service request, but the guy on the phone did not let me.
I know infopass cannot do anything for my EAD, but I just wanted to try and see if I can get something.
-
I just made an appointment on 23rd of Oct. I do not think that the local office will issue interm EAD, but they can do service request!
-
Anyone waiting for EAD and AP for over 90days? I could not do service request. The guy says they are now asking everyone to wait for another 47days. Should I try to call again and try to do service request?
-
Hi, I called up USCIS since my case has been over 90days. But, the guy again says different things. He says they are asking everyone to wait another 47days. What??? Where did he get that number?
Case processing time is already updated and now they are processing EAD within 3 months.
I wanted to do service request, but he just asked my zipcode and did not seem to understand that I filed my case at NBC not a local office.
How should I do service request? Should I try to call again?
-
Congratulation everyone! Unfortunately I still have no update.
-
Thank you so much everyone. It seems that I should wait.
Since I am applying for macy's, I need to fill out the online application no matter what.
I will contact a local congressman on Monday and also USCIS. I hope I can get approval e-mail at least.
I cannot go to an interview!
AOS interview questions!

I just got a letter for an interview. I got here with K1.
Do I have to bring MY birth certificate? or just my husband's birth certificate? He is USC and has a passport. His passport is not accepted?
We rent a house with my mother in law. Actually the renter is my husband's uncle, and my mother in law, my husband and I live there. My husband pays rent to his mom. We still have copies of checks for the rent. But, it is not my name. It is my husband's name. Is it ok?
I have a shared bank document, insurance card which shows that I am under his plan, shared credit cards, and marriage certificate. I can print out some bills that mail to me.
Is it enough?
The thing is that I do not have a ring yet. I have a severe metal allergy and it will be so much money for him to buy a pure silver or gold ring. So he is saving enough money right now to buy in the future.
Please share your experience.
