  1. CITIZEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Husband had the interview, tests and oath ceremony yesterday!!

The interview and tests took all of 14 minutes!!

They basically went through the N-400 and asked him to verbally verify EVERYTHING on it. Then he was asked 6 questions:

    1. Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?

    2. What is one of the longest rivers in the US?

    3. What was one the US fought in the 1800's?

    4. What ocean is along the east coast of the US?

and two others that he can't remember.

Then he was asked to read a paragraph regarding the Declaration of Independence and then write something.

The ceremony was nice, there were 75 others from a total of 35 countries there giving their oath.

Today husband will go to the county auditors office and register to vote.

  2. WOW reeces, I'm so sorry. I haven't been here in awhile and came here to find you to discuss issues I'm having. I pray everything went well with your delivery and you are enjoying you little one. Would love to chat with you sometime after you acclaimated to your new life with baby. (((HUGS)))

  3. First off - CONGRATS!!!

Second after I sent you a message I found this post you created. We are also going through Seattle. Our interview is scheduled for 7:55am on October 16th (9 days too late to register to vote for this election - grrr). Anyways, I see that you had Oath ceremony on the same day as interview. Is this something they always do? We're coming from Whidbey Island and it would be a hassle to have all of the family go to Seattle to just find out the ceremony won't be that day. I called USCIS and they said it's typically 90-120 days AFTER the interview. Are the ceremonies typically at 1pm? I sure wish there were published numbers for the local offices!

  4. We got our interview letter. October 16th at 7:35AM So disappointed it's not in time for hubby to be able to register to vote in this election, but at least he'll be a citizen soon. Question: someone awhile ago mentioned that their interview and citizenship was the same day. Our letter only says interview and testing on US history, reading, writing and speaking English. Will this be his Oath day too? We have family that would like to attend, but if it's not going to be Oath day then there is no sense in having everyone there. Also, it says it will take 2 hours so when would Oath be if there is one?

  5. We did our biometric appointment on 8/24. We arrived 2 hours early and they let us go ahead with no problem at all. I was so thankful because even with going in early we still had a 2 hour ferry boat wait when we got to the ferry terminal! Had we gone in at the assigned time the line would have been over 3 hours long and I would have missed my softball tournament. We are hoping and praying oath ceremony will before October 7th so he can vote this election.

  6. What to do, what to do????? Package sent 7/3, they received on 7/6, then last week hubby realized he forgot to take the check out of his checkbook and put in the package, called USCIS they said that the entire package would be returned to us. Here is it 10 days after they received it and still don't have it back, should we just send in a duplicate? Or would that screw things up?

  7. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Husband just realized today that he forgot to include the check with our packet. DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!! He's been checking his account every day to see when it would go through, today he looked in his checkbook and saw the check completely written out and still in the checkbook.

  8. Please add me - sent 7/3 to Arizona, Seattle is home office.

    I sent:

Copy front and back of hubby's green card

    Copy of my birth certificate

Copy of our marriage certificate and translation

    Copies of my divorce decrees

Copies of last three years joint tax returns

Two passport size photos of hubby with A# written in pencil on back

Everything but the pictures is RIDICULOUS because they have about 5 copies of everything. This is the digital age people why the heck aren't they scanning in everything so all offices have access to it??????????? Ugh government inefficiency!!!

  9. Great job you r the first one i think we were also in removal of condition also hmm , how amazing......:)

Yes we were!! I've checked out the speed of Seattle for this last leg and it looks like we could get citizenship by the end of September - just in time to register to vote before election. I checked things out here in our county and one MUST be registered by October 7th to vote.

  10. OH NO morning sickness!!! NOT FUN!!!!!!!!!

You're just over the first trimester so hopefully it'll get better real soon for you. Did you find the September 2012 forum?? You'll find over 10,000 pregnant moms to be all due in September there :) Maternity pants are the BEST!!!!

Clomid is taken as a pill at night (so I don't notice the side effects. Since I ovulate on my own, it's job is to help me ovulate more than one egg (increasing the odds of getting pregnant), my body isn't used to that so it can be painful for a couple of days during ovulation. My doctor is off island but I actually only see him when he increases my dosage to get a ultrasound of how many eggs are maturing to make sure I don't hyper-ovulate and end up getting pregnant with quints.

  11. We FINALLY got his GC yesterday!!! 46 days AFTER the approval. Anywho, next step Citizenship. We'll apply July 1.

Reeses - how pregnancy going girl? BTW if you're not on BabyCenter forums for your birth board you NEED to get there!!! You know how helpful this forum is for immigration stuff. BabyCenter is JUST as helpful for pregnancy stuff. I'm guessing you're due end of October? or early November??

We are STILL not pregnant. Doc moved me up to 100mg of Clomid this month. I'm 10days past ovulation and still getting negative tests and my temperature is falling so I know I'll be out for this cycle next week. Doc will keep me on 100mg of Clomid for at least 2 more cycles, then may bump me up to 150mg for 3 months or may keep me at 100mg for another 3 months, not sure yet. This dose now is bend me over painful for ovulation so I'm not sure I could handle more. I'm beginning to think it's hubby's issue not mine, but there's NO WAY on God's Green Earth that he'd go in for a sperm analysis so I'm not even going to mention it - LOL!! We'll just keep trying. The more Clomid I take the more eggs are available so hopefully one of them will catch a good sperm!

  12. Dude, you should be happy and thanking God you have been approved. Many people who filed before you have still not heard anything. No offense, but You should be wishing others luck instead of whinning about not receiving your card just 2 weeks after it has been approved.

Dude, can you see my picture or read my name? Not a dude!

No one who filed before me that is going through California failed to receive their card more than a two weeks after getting their confirmation letter! Last time I checked this is a public forum and this thread is specifically targeted to people who filed ROC in the month of July 2011, so since I fit in that category I shall continue to say what I feel is appropriate. Don't like it?? Don't read it!

Got two texts saying my new Card has been mailed to me as of yesterday ! So glad the Immigration Dance is done for now.

CONGRATS!!!! We didn't sign up for texts so just have to wait for snail mail to get our good news.

  13. I wouldn't worry too much about the 60/30 day notification. Your GC should be arriving soon. As long as your worries are over, let them send it in a year. :) Look at us. Still waiting for a decision, RFE or Interview.

It only worries me because everyone else has been getting their GC's within a week or so from the date of their letters. Only exception was someone who waited 3 weeks but that was due to address issues. Our letter was dated the 6th so it's been over 2 weeks.
