Hello all,
We plan to petition for my mom next year. I have heard that once Form 130 is approved, there is some form that the government sends you that will require my mom's signature to let me handle the process from the US. My mom is going to visit us in the spring. Is there any chance I can get this form from the USCIS website? Does anybody know the name of the form? I would like her to sign it while she is here to avoid sending it back and forth.
Thank you very much in advance

Hey guys, I renewed my foreign passport in Houston consulate in the US. I am wondering if I have any trouble travelling with this passport back home to Moscow. Did somebody have similar experiences?

Hello, I am thinking about bringing my mom to live with us. My main concern is health insurance. She is retired and is not going to work in the US. What are her options? Is there some immigrant type of insurance? We really need to keep the price reasonable.
Please share your experiences! Thank you!

Hi guys,
I hope you can help me. I have dual Russian and American citizenship. I renewed my Russian passport in the Russian consulate here in the US.
So how do I travel with 2 passports? The problem is that I read at the US embassy in Moscow site that Russian authorities won't let you leave the country if you have a Russian passport issued by the consulate in the US. This doesn't make much sense but it is what it says at the web site so it makes you wonder...
Did somebody travel with 2 passports to Russia and how did it go?
Thanks in advance!!!

They knew I was Russian from the very beginning and still chose me for the job. I don't think me being Russian is such a big deal.

Thank you everybody for their help! You guys are the best

And good luck to moonhunt with his wife's journey!!!
-
I am going to be just an administrative assistant.
I don't think it is top secret but I don't know. They said it would take 6-8 weeks for the clearance.
-
I just got a job working for the federal government. They started the security clearance process for me.
I am kind of freaking out. I have no criminal record or any credit problems or any drug use.
But I am still freaking out. How often do they deny the clearance?
Will they really call everybody at my application?
Will they verify every single employment place?
Thank you for your help!

I am sad now. I will miss you guys!!!!

Today is the day!!!!!
Congratulations!!!!!
Our little July group is officially done.
I want to share good news too. I got a job working for federal government!!!!! That wouldn't be possible without being a citizen. So excited.
Now I am in the process of obtaining the security clearance and it is more paperwork than I have ever done for my green card or citizenship.
But I told them that my background was checked so many times in the process of immigration that it will be easy for them as FBR already knows me.
Anyway today is our friends' big day. Yeah!!!!!!

Moonhunt,
Will you wife be with you soon? That would be a very nice thing.

April 30 will be a happy day indeed! I will miss our little July group.

Why does she need her Russian middle name in America? Nobody will be able to pronounce it anyway. It is rarely used and she will be just fine with her first and last name.
-
You can't register with the consulate until you abandon your residence in Russia. If you still have property and propiska in Russia, you are considered to be temporary residing in the USA by Russian authorities.
Yes, it takes that long. Russia is know for its red tape even abroad.
-
Yeah!!!!! I am so happy for you guys!!!!!
Great news.

I think so too. Besides getting Russian visa isn't hard at all.
I lived in Russia long enough to know better.
-
You don't have to wait until they deliver her visa to her, she can pick it up at DHL office herself and it will save her a day or two that can make all the difference.
Don't get discouraged, when I went through K 1 process, my fiancee booked me a ticket even before we got NOA 2. Everybody called us crazy but it worked out just fine. I had interview on December 2 and flew to the US on December 24. Had plenty of time to pack and finalize everything.
Good luck!!!!

That's exactly why I don't want him to become a Russian citizen. Russian army is scary.
-
Russia does recognize dual citizenship.
Thank you for your advice!!!!!

I have dual citizenship (Russian and American) and I want to go to Russia to visit my family with my son who was born here and is an American citizen.
What would be the best way to get a visa for him? I don't want my mom to deal with OVIR in Moscow because it is hell to get an invitation issued. Is there any other way for us to go?
Thanks!!!!
