    1st - Make up your mind that you wanna live

    2nd - Forget about whats right & wrong, take whatever steps necessary to sever the relationship

    OK so I like the running thread chat - just have to remember to jump in where I left off last. I've visited the sub-saharan cyber cafe chat area & its a good idea to bring that concept here to MENA too - hope it works. Also reminds me of those long K3 forum threads when I was still at the waiting for the NOA2 stage. Seems like forever ago ... :huh:

    I was reading through some of the chats here and kept seeing a common theme - "Old VJ'ers and looking at some of the time lines of those folks, its acutally been a short period of time but soooooooo much has happened to so many of us in that time span - blows the mind looking back over the past just 2.5 years for us :yes:

    How is your Arabic?

    I've asked my husband on several occassions to teach me at least some conversational Arabic or Tunisian & NO, he cant seem to do it or falls out laughing when I try to pronounce a word. :whistle: I've learned a couple of words but not enough to respond to someone else in a conversation. He speaks Arabic/Tunisian soooooo fast, I wouldn't be able to keep upanyway but I would love to be able just to have some basic skills in that area especially for phone calls home and/or travel. Lucikly my in laws and all of his family are very fluent in French, at this point I'm way better off learning that language if I ever want to communiacte with them. :blush:

    Happy Hump Day MENA - ours is an extra special hump day as we were approved today for the 10 year greencard this morning!!! :dance::dance::dance:

    Feels like such a relief to move on from this phase, we walked outta the homeland security office ready to celebrate big time & it was only 8:55 am!!! Looking back ... gosh, we were soooo naive about this immigration thingie and it's truly been such a long long journey but on days like this .....were just grateful it was as smooth as it was (well at least the immigration part, marriage is a WHOLE "nother" journey :blush: !!)

    Approval pending Correct Medical Form

    in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas

    Hi everyone! Just wanted to share some information my husband & I experiened at our AOS interview on August 3rd. Hopefully others will be able to use this to avoid some delays in getting green card.

    Interview was a breeze, we had very little evidence - health insurance, 1 joint bank account, birth certificate, passports, pics and our letter to come for the interview. Plus I still use my maiden name for work purposes. It took all of 15 min & were "conditiionally" approved pending the Civil Surgeon who completed my husbands medical form transfer that information to a updated/current form. Apparently there have been 3 updated medical forms since Oct 2009 but some clinics/dr. offices may not have them yet. Most recent form is dated 07/2010 for the medical that the Civil Surgeon has to complete.

    Not too much of a big deal other than we would already have the 10 year green card but instead we have to go back on Sept 8 with corrected/updated form. We were assured it would take 5 min and the approval would be "fianlized" at that time. Stay tuned! Good luck ot everyone else! :star:

    Its more humid in upstate NY than hot - I mean really freakin' humid, thank goodness H & I finished ALL the yardwork yesterday - gonna kick back and enjoy the yard for rest of the weekend! Had biometric appt June 10, just waiting for AOS appointment letter ... :whistle:

    Happy Tuesday MENA! Today has just dragged on here, soo gloomy & a bit chilly outside - can't wait to go home cuddle on da couch, get into my paranormal romance novel & have a nice tasty plate of pasta & meatballs (my comfort food).

    Looks like the notices are coming out of USCIS faster than ever .. nice to see that! We received our NOA1 for AOS (see time line below) & biometrics letter yesterday with appt date of June 10! :dance: Were so pysched!!

    As far as being able to sign up for updates/"touches" ...ever since we signed up for text message updates we haven't been able to get on the system. :wacko::whistle:

    Hi MENA ~ Happy Wednesday!

    Its freakin' freezin' here...on our anniversary - May 1st - we had beautiful sunny 90 degree weather, today ... not even reachin'40 :angry:

    Lets see ... the day started with a furlough confirmation from our governor...few hours later, certain titles spared from furloughs ... day by day, hour by hour ...its unnerving.

    Anywho - hope everyone is doing OK and managing with whatever lifes bringin' their way.

    oooooh oooooh the good news ... got a text message from USCIS & received our AOS paperwork!

    Yeeeeeeeh :dance:

    It was so good to see you here in MENA, its been awhile since we had a chance to connect and I'm so glad all is well with you & Aziz. Hassen & I often wonder how folks are doing but don't always find the time to get online to check in with everyone.

    So glad you posted the ins/outs & ups/downs as every marriage experiences these, I'm sure we all can relate! :blush:
