  1. ...

I am starting the AOS process. I may have a few questions soon so I hope this thread shifts to the AOS, EAD, AP topic because you have all been so wonderful.

    ...

FYI: There are separate threads for the AOS/EAD/AP processes, so even if this one doesn't shift to that, you can get answers to any questions you have.

I did see a few but this is my home. I have gotten a few good leads from the other threads.

Hopefully we can all jump into the same AOS thread, I know I'm usually quiet, but I love my October filing family - we've got a long way to go still - I hope we can stay together :)(F)

maybe October Vermont K-1 filers AOS Thread? Is that confusing

  2. So I ran out today and got my US $262 for the Visa (me+my son). So that was the last thing I needed. We are still waiting for the IRS transcripts....which my fiancé has promised that he will call Mon and try to get them faxed. He had ordered them by mail, but no show so far :( this is the last thing that is keeping me nervous!

I am happy that my fiancé is coming, but have sworn him to best behaviour! Lol'! He is such a practical joker and always tries to play around with people...so I made him promise to not answer the question 'do you still intend to marry her?' with 'I guess there's no turning back at this point! Why do you guys still issue refunds after today?' I'd kill him! I mean we always have good laughs, but the Embassy is not the place! Lol'! :)

Good grief... I so know what you mean! D does the SAME THING!!!! Especially when we're about to arrive at an airport... get on the airplane... crossing the border... someplace where you KNOW you're NOT supposed to say or joke about certain things. Oyyy... is that a man thing?

Lol you can joke around a litttle, last time I went to see charles, the guy at the peace bridge asked me if I had anything to declare. I replied a bag of gummy bears and I pulled them out of my purse to show him. He was laughing which is really unusual for those guys.

  I declared a cup of Tim's at the Peace Bridge & got a chuckle. They are human after all :)

  3. How are all the October filers doing?

For those of you who are waiting for NOA2 (F) (F) (F) (F) you are in my prayers & thoughts. I hope it comes soon.

Chelsea good luck today!! **fingers Crossed **

    anyone else with upcoming interviews?

How many of you are settled in with your loved one?

We are expecting Packet 3 soon, and then about 6-8 weeks for an interview. exciting! but still a bit of a wait :)

Anyone started looking into the AOS? Just checking in, hope you are all good!

  4. Congrats Beans!!! That's great news!!

It's true not much movement here. That's excatly what's happening to us right now: NO MOVEMENT!! We are still stuck in AP at NVC. Seems like the average delay is 50days, so we still have a long wait if it applies to us. I'm secretly hoping a release this week! :)

I found another family on VJ (Stuck at NVC), but this will always be home! (F):luv:

Have a great trip Chels. Hope the interview will go smoothly and that you'll be coming back with your sweety!

    Congrats Beans!!

Chels - Good LUCK! I hope that you get to bring Josue with you on your way home :)

Julie - I hope that you get out of NVC and that Montreal accepts your petition transfer and everything speeds up.

Our Petition was slow to transition through NVC but has been received in Montreal - I've been hanging out over there on "waiting for an interview in Montreal" hoping that Montreal gains record speed

Wishing everyone the best along their visa journeys... see you all in the AOS threads ;-) :luv::lol::lol:

Thanks guys, and Carmen that's sweet thank you. I'm happy today hehe. I don't care too much if it takes awhile after this part some of the worst is over and for that I'm grateful. I don't know if Jeremy knows yet, I left him a message on Skype..didn't want to wake him up. Well that's a lie, I did want to wake him up but I decided against it.

    Thanks everyone!!!

Ahhh! Wake him up! I'm sure he'll be overjoyed ;)

  5. Has anyone else still waiting to have their Petition recieved from, NVC I was Approved March 12,2009 and still waiting is this normal

    Thankyou Everyone

Call them up, they received my within 2 days, Automated system doesn't work, try to speak with some one there

several people have experienced delays this month, just keep checking.

  6. No they won't as least I've never seen that happen. It is up to you to bring them any information about past illness that you want them to see or might need. They will not do any leg work. So if you do have things you think they might want or need about your past medical history that you think might put a damper on things, then definitely bring as much information as you can from your Dr.

Thank you! I appreciate your input. There are some things that are ancient (teen years) that may or may not hinder the process, so this is good to know.

  7. Ohh good point.

They will ask you questions about your medical history. If for example you had a serious case of depression and have been treated - you can bring documentation from your Dr. to outline everything. If you had anything major then yes, being some notes from your Dr.

Okay. Do they check in with primary doctor to get more info on your medical history?

  8. Hi Everyone,

I have a question regarding the medical exam: do you have to bring medical records with you to the exam? Do the physicians screen your medical history? Just curious. :)

    Have a lovely Day.

No medical records, just your immunization records

Thank you! Just wondering how they would then know if someone was treated or seen for depression or something similar? do they care? paranoid, ya know?

  9. Oh yay theres a home for this maddness!

We got our USCIS approval March 13th, hard copy on the 20th and still we call every day only to hear 'oh we're not showing anything. it can take 4-6 weeks" blah blah... We press #1 then #2.... Raj you said #5? interesting.

I thought this would be the fast part too! I expected by now we'd have packet 3 from Montreal (which take 90-120 days to get an interview from).

  10. Ditto! I would sign a petition!!

This is a bit OT: I know the media has not been interested in the past but....

I had a thought while flipping through channels tonight, my fiance watches Lou Dobbs on CNN. Lou Dobbs is always straightforward and critical of government and its inefficiencies, I have heard stories of him investigating about other federal departments. I wonder if he would be interested in publisizing USCIS. I mean Sara's petition sat for ONE YEAR just waiting for someone to send out an RFE!! Not to mention the increase in fees, decrease in efficiency, employees losing documents, whole petitions, medicals!! customer service agents who don't have a clue, FBI backlogged, first in first out I think not!! Anyways, I think it might be a good way to bring up Sara's case!

I agree!! I think the media is a must. Not just for Sara's case, but for the many people who struggle with this process to be with the people they love. One hurdle after another, stupid restrictions, and random craziness.

We should all band together and spam the media about all these things. Its all maddening!

  11. Oh Man! That stinks!!! I still have no idea whats going on with our case at NVC. I would take the Vancouver interview - Vancouver is faster! ;)

It is faster but very expensive!!!! Besides I donèt get....why would they send me there if they do the exact same thing here! Nvc said today that our file should leave for Vancouver this week.....:(

That is so weird. Does it say Vancouver on your 797? Have you looked into the Train or Greyhound to get to Vancouver? Longer but cheaper. Wow.

I wonder why they are sending it there. Maybe Montreal is trying to speed up and shifting some of the workload - and you can't talk them out of it?

I call NVC every day and they still don't have us in their system. Its getting frustrating.

  12. For the affidavit:

My fiance (the USC) is back being a student since January so he doesn't make any money and does not reach the poverty level. His step-mom is going to be our co-sponsor.

Do they both (fiance + step mom) need to fill out I-134 and gather past W2, bank statements etc, or just hers is enough?

Do you have to submit tax forms (w2s) for Montreal?

  13. Hi everyone!

I am getting in line for Montreal soon (hopefully) - still processing through NVC but I've been lurking in this forum for a few months now ;) Stephanie, what a great spreadsheet! That helps ease the worried mind.

I have a few questions, if you all don't mind:

    - do we have to wait to schedule the medical until we receive packet 3, or will a MTL case # work?

    - Do we need the I-134 to be sent back with packet 3 or does it go with him to the interview?

    - What financial supporting evidence does Montreal require (IE do they require taxes?)

Thank you all. Looking forward to moving forward and waiting for Montreal now :)

  14. Hello all! I haven't seen much movement for Oct. filers at VSC lately...what's up with that??? They need to wake up!!! For those of you who are still waiting, STAY STRONG!!

I'll take that advice for myself as well, since we are officially stuck in AP at NVC :crying: On top of it all a supervisor repeated to me that my interview will be in Vancouver instead of Montreal...I feel that they really don't know what they are talking about since I also follow a thread here on VJ about people waiting for interviews in Montreal. I'm going nuts since we can be stuck in AP for a while and then I might have to have the file transfered from Vancouver to Montreal - don't know how that works yet, and I hear that the delays to get and interview in Montreal is 4months!!!!:crying:

I thought that things would run smoothly for us as well after we get the NOA2, but noooooooo.....I feel even more helpless now......

    good luck everyone

Oh Man! That stinks!!! I still have no idea whats going on with our case at NVC. I would take the Vancouver interview - Vancouver is faster! ;)

  15. Grr, I just called the NVC and I was told my case was not received yet, and that it could take about 2-4 weeks and sometimes even 90 days for a package to reach the NVC. mmm.... I guess i'll have to wait a little longer and try to call again in a couple of days... :hehe:

    Glen

I was told this too when I called on the 19th. Yet it seems NVC receives petitions 2-4 working days after the NOA2 date. I hope this isn't cause for concern. I'll be calling first thing Monday morning in hopes that its already on its way to Montreal...

  16. Hello all!! Congrats on the new NOA2s :dance:

On a side note, I urge all of you to call NVC as soon as possible especially is there are more than one consulate dealing with K1s in your country. I just called them and was told that our file was going to Vancouver because that is the only consulate in Canada dealing with K1s... that's BS!!!!! I'm in Montreal and the consulate here deals with it to. I was trying to tell the lady that she was wrong but she wouldn't hear it. So she finally went to check with someone and came back with the same answer!?!?!?!? WTH???? Dex is on the phone with them now cause I couldn't get a hold of them....always busy....but for some reason a USC got a line right away....interesting!!!!!! LOL

I REALLY don't want our file to go to Vancouver, cause I know it will be hell transfering it back to Montreal. For those of you who don't know, Vancouver is about a 6-7hour plane ride from here and very pricy

    I'll keep you posted!

WHAT?! OMG!!!!!! I talked to NVC yesterday and they said they didn't have it input yet. Have you gotten your NOA2 in the mail? I receieved mine today and it said the consulate was Montreal. You? Keep me posted, please

  17. Okay Winnifredbee!

How did it go? We are waiting! :D

Hello all! Thanks for all the support. Balvino and I are picking up our visa this Friday....We were Approved!!! Needless to say we are so excited. I purchased tickets for next Thursday. I still need to tell my family we are returning early.

I will write a more detailed review later but this is the basic outline:

We arrived and everything went smoothly. Everyone there was very nice especially the women that told us we were getting our visa. She laughed at our photos and laughed at Balvino, who could bearly write his own name he was so excited...I love him! During the entire process we talked to two people. The first women was not so nice. She asked to talk to Balvino alone and asked some questions that were normal. How old is your Fiancee...we have a 15 year difference and I know some people will have a problem with this. How long have you know her?, etc. But the one question that threw Balvino for a loop was ´Why didn´t you fall in love with a girl from Waspam? (where Balvino was born) Balvino said he didn´t want to answer. He just said ´I love my Fiancee´. When I returned to the window she asked me how do we communicate if I don´t speak Spanish. I do speak Spanish it is just not that good(now she is bashing my Spanish!). When I said we have a lot in common she rolled her eyes and said ´Like what?´ She was so full of attitude it really annoyed me. I had heard such nice things about the Embassy here. I have to say that we had good evidence. If this women had plans to suggest that we not pass we really made it difficult. Balvino and I have known each other for two and a half years and I have visited him and his family 9 times during the duration. To have someone judge us at the end of our long journey is frustrating, to say the least.

Sorry so long I guess I needed to vent and sorry about the typos I am not at my computer. I would love feedback about whether or not I am over reacting. Please ask questions if you have any. The evidence that seem to change the womens mind was the number of flights I had made to visit Balvino. So sleepy. Thanks guys! I am going to sleep on it but I may write a letter to the Embassy...after I have our visa:)

    Congratulations!! :star: :star:

  18. Everyone have a great Hump Day!

Well, you know it does seem to fit in with the question they asked that one lady . . . :innocent:

Ha Ha You never know that maybe one of the interview questions??? "So tell me, what does hump day mean in Texas"

Sorry I'm late! CONGRATS Ruby! I knew it was coming!! WOOOT! ... now on to Montreal
