Hello,
I am applying for Citizenship end of August and I just got a traffic ticket for faliure to obey highway sign. I think the fine is under $200 and my court date is 09/19/08
When I am filling out the form for part 10 for Good Moral Character it asks me if I had:
1. ever been arrested, cited or detained by any law inforcement officer.
2. ever been charged with any crime or offense.
Does this apply to minor traffic ticket or no?
Please let me know. I am sure few ppl might have gotten traffic tickets before.
Thanks.
yes it does. they ask about traffic tickets and even the nimor ones. some people dont mention them some do.

Interview was a breeze - very quick and most of the time was spent on the paperwork. There were 11 quick questions asked but very straightforward.
At the end of the interview, I was handed a form N-652 stating that I passed the test. Also they mentioned that the decision cannot yet be made - because the officer needed a final signature from the supervisor. As per the officer that is not a big deal. But I was assured to get a letter of oath in mail in next 2-4 weeks. Did anyone have a similar answer?
Also, they made me sign both the photographs and I was under an impression that you have to write your full name. I don't know this may be something new.
But overall it was a good experience.
Thnx.
thats nice congrats

Hi All
I got my IL, and was just wondering if everyones' letter says that the proceedings will take about 2 hours!!?
I have read a few reports on here and seems like people are in an out in about 30 mins max.
was just wondering if all letters are just standard wording?
thanks
Jelly

Attorneys are regulated by a state bar association. If you feel that your atty. has treated you unfairly, taken advantage of you, ignores your attempts to communicate with him/her, then file a bar complaint with the state bar association in the state you either live in or your attorney practices in. Bar complaints are taken very seriously and in many instances the filing of a bar compliant causes a magical change in attorney attitude.
ok thanks alot

Wondering how one can get hold of IO ..I called customer services twice ...they even didn't bother to look in to case .just saying I should wait as it taked 10-12 months
those are CSR. you have to ask them to transfer you. only IO's know whats really going on with your case.

I called today, and they said they were working really hard on all our files and had no time to update the site
that is not possible. people who are working on our case are different people. the ones who update are the engineers who do this sort of thing of updating.

Do you know if the amount you are showing on your tax copies is not enough to show as support to bring your spouse. what if you make too little and you have to pay extra. My lawyer said I have to pay 3 grand out of my own pocket to the IRS. yes he is a lawyer yes he advises but I want to ask people here. Is this what happens? when you are not making enough you have to pay from your own pocket to IRS?

Wait a second. you were posting yesterday that you are bringing your husband to the US and don't have any money and today you are going to your citizenship interview? Come on, get real.
yes ofcourse. i applied for my husband along with filing for the n-400 i applied last month for citizenship i didnt get my interview yet but if i get it soon either way my husband will come here. firstly due to cause his date is current not due to me becoming a citizen in the future. wait what do you mean? I cant do two things at once? I cant apply to become a usa citizen and i cant apply to bringing spouse?

why did they not update the august dates. they still have july on and its already august 20th
Seems ironic as the USCIS, your congressman, that ombudsman all go on these processing dates as posted on the internet. While our N-400 receipt notice said would be nine months to our processing date that site posted more like 15 months, but the actual processing took 3 1/2 months. Was just the opposite for the I-751 where according to their site, that application should have been processed 7 months ago and we were still waiting.
I sincerely believe they are using a pseudo-random generator to come up with those dates, but you are helpless to do anything until your application date is at least a month prior to the posted date. We were lucky enough to get our receipt date posted, but has never changed, the Department of State is the same way.
And you want to know why? Even if they did update the dates, won't even be in the ballpark, can only assume someone isn't doing their job. We would be better off if they dumped that site as whatever it says, is law.
thats not nice they should update we are all waiting.

Hey all,
Hope someone here can help me out on this one... so i just received a phone call from my sister in India that she wants to visit the US later this year. She's not looking to emigrate. She's got a good job with the UN back home in India and is financially secure. She just wants a temporary tourist visa (B visa if I'm not mistaken) .. She wants me to sponsor her to make the visa process easier and faster..I'm a conditional green card holder here for little over a year have a pretty good job here as well.. I can give her all the documents that the embassy requires ( here's what they want http://newdelhi.usembassy.gov/nivbvisas.html)
So my question to the wise is, as a conditional permanent resident, can I legally sponsor a relative for a 'temporary' visit as a tourist?
Hopefully someone can help me figure out this one. So far I've not seen any information that says I can't but wanted to make sure before I sent off a little packet full of my 'progress report' back home..
Thanks!
she should go to the indian embassy and ask for a visitors visa and she should present her good job incase they think she is coming to the usa to live as an illegal and have children. its been done. she should show that india is important to her she has a house a job and she is only visiting.
