  2. Your list looks good to me. Just a couple of things I noticed and please correct me if I'm wrong :)

I don't believe the passport copies are required.

Do you have a lease/deed for your place of residence? Even if it's not in both of your names an explanation in your cover letter would be a good idea. (I am including our house deed and utility bills which are in my husband's name only with an explanation as to why.)

    Good luck!

I agree that passport copies are not required. The home is under my name only as I bought the house before I get married and we just never changed it...

  3. Getting ready to file my application in few days. This is what I'm sending:

    • Copies of our passports and my husband's green card (front and back).

    • Three sworn affidavits from family and friends, attesting to our relationship and marriage.

    • Copy of the tax statements for 2008 and 2009.

    • Joint checking account statements for last two years

    • Joint saving account statements for last five months (new account)

    • Copies of joint stock account (account opened 4 months ago)

    • Old statements for saving account we had in 2008 but we closed it.

    • Forms show me as a beneficiary on my husband's life insurance and (401)K at his former company.

    • Copies of joint car insurance.

    • Copy of the title of our car, showing joint ownership.

    • Copies of cell phone statements show that we have a family plan.

    • Copy of joint life insurance policy

    • Family photos

    • Copy of our driver's license show the same address.

    • copy of our airline reservations for two vacations in May 2009 and June 2010.

    • copy of hotel reservation for a vacation in May 2010.

    • Email correspondence

    • Copies of cards addressed to both of us.

We don't have any utility bills with both names on it some under my name and some under my husband's name... Is that going to be an issue? Anything else I should send??

    Thanks

  4. I had my interview on Jan 27th in kansas city, MO and was approved...The interview was pretty simple. The lady only verified our addresses, dates of birth, and our social security numbers. Then she asked if we have joint accounts together and we showed her statements for our checking and saving accounts and she put them in my file. Then she closed the file and said we are done and I announce you as a permenant resident from this moment:) be a good resident!.

We were in and out of the building in less than 20 minutes and the interview itself lasted for like 10 minutes!

Good luck everybody... my experince was painless! Thansk God!

  6. Is the AOS interview really tough if you are middle eastern man marrying USC? I just heard this recently and not sure if its really true  !

BTW I have been in US for 3 years on F-1 visa and recently applied for AOS after I got married. I have joint bank accounts with my wife, wedding pictures, the cards we received at the wedding, and our cars insurance that shows both name. Is this goning to be enough for our AOS interview?

  7. My situation is that currently I'm an F-1 status visa. My wife is a US citizen and we're beginning the Green Card filing.

Question is for form I-864, my wife has to prove that her income is 125 percent above poverty line, which it isn't. However, it also states in the form that she can use the income of the intending immigrant (me) to supplement it. My question is as a proof of income can I have a signed letter from my father that he is going to support me financially up to $15,000 a year so we can meet the required condition? My father is not a US citizen.
