  3. whoops I misvoted then - I picked 24 lbs gone (that was in 2 weeks) I gained 35 total and now after 7 weeks I have 6 lbs to go to be back to my prepreggo weight.

However, 2 days after I brought Ryan home - I'd only lost 2 lbs. Go figure, he weighed over 7 at birth. But I had a csection and was irrigated so much do to complications they had to put a drain in my side so I think it was due to so much water retention.

  4. You really think BBQ sauce is strange?

 that's exactly what I said when I read that. Then asked Nick who promptly told me that our BBQ is "horrible"

Hahahaha ! I can even tell that in restaurant here in the USA they put tons of sauce EVERYWHERE ! Each time I ask for beef I say "please no sauce and please I REALLY want it rare with blood and everything". Oh and I really hate meatloaf, for my french mouth this thing is just insane and horrible.

But I'm totally fan of Dairy Queen !!!! YUMMMMMMMM

 One of Nick's favorites is meatloaf! He's not a big fan of mine, but the ones in restaurants he loves! I don't really care for it myself. HOWEVER, Dairy Queen is awesome! Snickers Blizzard is my fav but even their plain ice cream is soo yummy!

  5. Hey guys! I'm in England with Paul now and my sister texted me this mornng that I got approved! I'm in shock! I got to tell Paul in person. I tried to wake him up and ended up jumping up and down on him to wake him up, i was so excited. She said the letter says approved 2/27/09 but i never got an email and my status says pending and no touch. FINALLY! Praise be to the Lord! I dont know anything else, like why it took so long. i'll have to wait til i get home! Love u all, thanks for your support and well wishes!!!

This is some of the best news I could hear. Now we gotta get Jokalu squared away.

A question for everyone who has arrived in the USA:

    1. What do you like best so far (excluding your SO)?

    2. What do you like least or think is the most strange?

Hmmmm tough one as there's not much difference between the US and the UK if that makes sense?

I love the strange words they have for different stuff and the spellings.............

I love the way everyone says "morning" when I'm walking the kids to school.

I love the weather and being part of a family.

It's difficult not to include Shan and the kids as we could live anywhere in the world and I'd be happy.

I cant say there is anything I dont like right now, maybe once I'm working I'll hate paying tax and getting up the mornings but nothing thats US specific!

Now I'm not a religious man but we should all say a prayer for Jokalu and hope they get their approval soon this is just ridiculous...... We've all got our fingers crossed for you :thumbs::thumbs:

  7. Well, her interview took place earlier today and our Visa Application was approved! She was very nervous and interview wasn't a piece of cake, but she made it through it OK. We are really looking forward to getting a passport with visa in it and getting her on the plane ASAP!

Believe it or not, she is still not 100% sure that we cleared all the hurdles because of a crazy story she was a witness to. When she was paying for DHL delivery before the interview, there was a woman in front of her in the line who was receiving her passport from the Embassy. Woman didn't speak or read English, so she asked one of the DHL people what the stamp in the passport said and the guy told her that she was denied a visa with no explanation given. The woman told everybody that it couldn't be true because she was told at the interview that her visa was approved. I find it really hard to believe, but I don't know the type of visa that woman applied for nor was I there at the time of the incident, so I can't really comment on it one way or another. :wow: Any thoughts?

Congratulations!! How long before she gets her passport back? You must be dead excited?!!

  8. hey, hope everyone is keeping well ?

Where are we up to with all the plans ?? Cdneh..... you arrived yet?

    Dawn, you still alive......

    Has everyone had their approvals....

    Sorry I know we're slacking :wacko::wacko:

Dawn doesnt have the internet Stateside, but she said she wont be wiithout it for too long :)

How are things moving along with you?

Who ever invented the phrase "sleeps like a baby" OBVIOUSLY NEVER HAD KIDS!!!!!

Having said that its a fantastic feeling and we both love getting up 2-3 times a night to feed him, we have a great system: Shan does midnight to 3am and I do 3am till 6 ish when the kids get up for school.

Lo and behold, last night put him in his bed at 1030 ( due to be fed at midnight) and the little munchkin slept right thro and woke up at 306am GRRRRRRRR. Think I need to monitor these mother to son chats Shan is having on the sly with him.......

I am :) POE SFO smooth as

Awesome glad it all went smoothly for you!!

  9. ok... ppl amaze me.

Their house was barely as they described it. Yes. their back yard was meeting the forest and there was a fountain in the front... but - um there was also JUNK everywhere... old cars with covers in the yard... semi trailers parked around... just NOT a "wedding location" at all. (sigh) oh well... back to plan A.

  10. Our plans are switching up a bit - we found someone else to perform our wedding and they have facilities to perform weddings at their house that backs up to Ocala Ntl Forest so we're going today to check it out. From what they say it's beautiful! So it might not be in our backyard after all!

  11. Terri, that's beautiful!

I want an updo like that too... my hair might not be long enough for it and I'm not thinking I want to pay for added pieces/extensions to make it full enough to look good.

I was just looking online now for places to go and check out locally... I gotta tell ya.. I'm not impressed with what I see! Scary! Maybe I'll do it myself... hmmm... even scarier!!!!

There are loads of youtube tutorials for hair and makeup. It's worth checking out!

THANK YOU! I'll have my daughter watch them with me... see if she thinks she can manage any of them. I love updos :) down side is lots of curls and pinning - so we'll see if she thinks she can pull it off!

Thanks again - you are the wedding god Terri!!

    Hello!

I just got "officially" engaged a few weeks ago. Even though we are still waiting on the interview packet, I wanted to get started on some of the wedding stuff. I do have a couple of questions though.

    1. Does anyone have a good free wedding planner website?

    2. Is there anyway we can fill out paperwork a head of time so that my fiance's parents can get a visa or some sort of permission to be able to come to the wedding? They are from Mexico and have never had any type of visa to enter the U.S. before. It is important to my fiance and I that they are able to make it though.

    Thanks and happy wedding planning!

Sorry you haven't been answered yet! Seems the thread took a dive to the depths of the forum!

I don't have any planner sites for you - and I'm drawing a blank for the latter question too.

Hopefully this post will bump the thread up and someone in the know will answer! GL!

  12. great news corinthians!!!!! i have some news of my own..................

    CAN ANYONE SAY..........................................................................

    A  P  P  R  O  V  A  L  !!!!!!!!!!

    or

    N  O  A  2

when i saw my email i yelled, stomped, and ran inside and outside of my house and down the street ( i swear ) ohh............and lets not forget it was 1:30am when i read my email :rofl:

WOW! I love all this good news!! With all our hearts - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!:dance::dance:

  13. We depended on Skype.. in addition to the free internet calls w/ webcam you can also get a subscription to get a local number you can call and it connects you to up to 10 different numbers (worldwide) of your choice for free. The subscription was 12.50 for me in the states

We also worked "ahead" on packet three... or correcting the horrible errors our lawyers made on our paperwork!! ...but don't get me started!

  14. Yes I am all set ! Ummmm I still have to buy my ticket, it is 100euros more than 2 weeks ago so I have some problem to push the button "purchase"...

We should all post a picture with our visa in hands !

    Well done you!!

GET that ticket bought, dont know where you're looking to buy it but I went direct to the airline (British Airways) and they worked out a lot cheaper than some of these "special deal" places that advertise the "lowest rates" :star:
