Too funny!!! So far we've got 5 ... one a few days ago - and 4 in one day. We, too, were excited thinking it was going to be biometrics or something... LOL nope! Just more NOAs!! Looks like we don't have to make copies for anything.. we've got originals to hand out! LOL

Well, I got it! then... turned it down. lol
I went into work to quit and they wouldn't let me - gave me all the changes they'd make for me based on the reasons I gave them for leaving and told me to think about it... so I took them up on it and stayed. So far it's a good decision

Really? I just started working on a MPH degree. What is your background?
Nothing academically - that was just general.
Previously I was a Client Manager Supervisor at an in patient non-profit rehab center for drug and alcohol addicted men and women.
I was taking a social problems course and went to interview the director of the program... ended up volunteering, a few weeks later I was offered a position as Client Manager and about 6 months later I was promoted again. I really miss working with the clients. So hard and so rewarding.
The position at the DOH seems to be more supervisory and paperwork oriented... ideally I'd like to get back into the treatment world. I had sort of made a connection here with one that was going to be started - but it doesn't look like it will... or soon enough for me, anyway.

admittedly, we don't come on here too often anymore, especially considering that many of us have facebook pages. I'm sure we will start coming back again when the next bout with USCIS comes along...
Our anniversary is next Wednesday - time has FLOWN by! Amazing how the speed of time changes when your living life instead of waiting for it to begin!
I don't want to be depressing - but we shared the news with everyone in the first place so I thought it fair to share this on here too... We had a miscarriage before Christmas. No need for mentions.. we're ok now and happily trying again
One thing I will ask for is some prayers! I have a job interview next Friday - Senior Personnel in the Epidemiology Dept for Flagler County Dept. of Health. This would be FANTASTIC for us as I'd have a normal 9-5 job and be home with the kids nights and weekends. Far cry from my normal 5-6 days a week working from 2p-11p. Also it has benefits and we have no insurance now.... So I'm really excited!!! Prayers welcome!!
And for you facebook'ers - plz no mention of the job interview on there... I have ppl i currently work with on there and I don't want the word to get out

We're not putting anything on facebook because I'm (shan) up for a promotion at work - and there are work 'friends' on facebook and we don't want our pregnancy to affect the chances.

Well, our I-485 was transferred to CSC today. I guess that means no interview and faster processing? Nothing on our EAD and AP though. Last activity was Biometrics day for EAD and the day they put it online for AP.
For people who were transferred, how much more time did it take to finish?

Our case was transferred on 9/18 and approved on 10/22 -- I don't think we had any touches in between. Hope yours is just as fast, if not faster!

Alexandra received her learner's permit for driving, anyone in Florida or planning to travel to Florida watch out!!
LOL!! Hopefully we'll be getting Nick's soon. Purely a case of not having the time to go down there and have him take the test... between working, the kids and all the places they need to go - seems we're always begging for more time!

I'm looking into grad programs in social work and counseling now. We'll see!
Good luck. I'd be tempted to look at advanced practice nursing. Social workers I know have to see some pretty brutal things; but I guess that depends on what kind you do.
Being an CNP would be cool, but I'm sure you've thought about that. However if being underpaid and overworked are turn-offs for ya - I don't know how different social work would be from nursing. But as soon as you find out where your heart is at... I'm sure you'll be happy. GL
