Discussed earlier. Apparently a Latino husband, altho American, does not count as an American. So I think you as a Latina, might be considered OK. But don't take my word for it!

by the end of this process I'll become a monk with all this patience I had acquired. hahahaha

I'm tired of coming here only to complain LOL, but what can I do?No touches, EADs or news for me...

I got my car for 1300 dollars, and it was well spent money, it runs great and I had a pleasant surprise to see that it makes abt 33 miles a gallon/highway , it was my first car, as well and no regrets...

As someone said, search for cars sold by individuals, dealerships will try to rip you off, also avoid getting cars from young people that usually drive more roughly, also ask how many owners it had before and good luck, drive the car before you buy it and search for problems or weird noises.

Craigslist is a great place to find cars, good luck in your search!

Oh my fellow brazilian... I know it sounds like cliche but honestly just try to hang in there bc THEY HAVE to get to it and get your papers done.

Also remember that the worst part is getting the freaking K-1 approved.... this waiting for the GC is bananas for us we can do it! since now we are not appart from out better-half anymore

my 2 cents about it....

I didn't receive my EAD or GC yet, but my J-1 visa was still good, so I went there, took my written test and passed, waited for my LP to get here and it finally did, my road test was scheduled and guess what?My lovely smart husband loses my wallet with the LP in it, I can't take the test without it, have to go back and renew it wait AGAIN, now my visa expired, I don't have my EAD, don't have my GC and don't have my DL, or LP that didn't get here til now ( it's been about 3 months now) my paper expired and I don't know if I should go there and ask for another one, since now my J-1 expired.I'm hoping my EAD gets here soon, so I can at least try, I'm stuck at home, can't even drive with my hubby anymore, that really sucks, does anyone have a piece of advice?Should I just go there and ask for another paper or wait?

I was about to ask that too, I came here as an au pair and was supposed to stay for an year, took all my money out before coming and don't really have anything to prove that I didn't want to stay, do I too need to prove I didn't want to stay, even tough I was supposed to be here for an year, possibly 2??
