  1. Thanks for the kind answers, guys, about the other ones, not worth an answer.

I've been trying again and hubby said he will give me a puppy when I can do it perfectly hehehe too bad it's a lie, we live in a apartment and already have 4 pets :( lol

The intention that counts right?I didn't do too good today but I will keep trying, my actual learner's permit will take a while to get here, so I have a lot of time.

That video is pretty good, thank you again!

  2. according to my husband.,You don't have any choice. Parallel parking is one of the test procedures to get a license. If you are really interested in getting a driver license., stop whinning, practice and learn how to parrallel park. You will see how important it is coz there's those places that have no available parking spot except parrallel park. and that's one of the most important requirement to get a driver license otherwise you have to learn how to ride a bus.

Same thing with me., right now I dont have an ead yet but I was able to get a learner's permit even without ssn. Coz here in washington., you can get a license without ssn and ead just by signing a social security declaration form. So right now he's teaching me how to drive. I keep on whinning all the time and he often yells at me and told me that I don't have a choice because I'm in a different country now and If I want to be a permanent resident here., then I should abide by the laws. And if I want to be a successful citizen here., well I should do whatever it takes and besides youi're lucky because you already know how to drive. All you have to learn is to parrallel park. Compared to me., I'm just starting to learn driving lol. So goodluck!!!!

Geez, what's with the rudeness, I'm not whining.

Plus I've been living here for 1 year and 2 months, never needed to parallel park and don't think I'll be an unsuccessful citizen because of that, I don't know if you meant what you wrote, but there's no need to be rude like that.

  3. I hate parallel parking! And I rarely have to do it. My husband had to learn for his driving test, so we went to the DMV after hours and he just practiced at the testing area over and over and over. I don't know what counts as failing in your state. Here, you can bump the curb, but you can't go up on it. You can tap the barrier in front or in back, but you can't hit it hard enough to move it at all. When I tested for my own license a million years ago, I tested in the same car I learned in (driver's ed car) and I just lined up certain landmarks in the window so I could do it the same way each time. Perhaps that would help. But practice and more practice is what it takes.

FWIW, a couple of weeks ago, I had no choice but to parallel park. I did such a bad job that my husband (who has had his license for two months) made me get out of the car and he finished the job himself. So become an expert, and then put the rest of us to shame. You can do it. Good luck.

What the lady said was that I would fail if:

    -I touched the curb

-I went up in the curb

-The car wasn't between 10-15 inches from the car in front of me

    -If the wheels weren't aligned

-If I didn't put the car on park after I was done

-If the car wasn't in a straight line

-If the car was more than 10 or less than 5 inches of the curb

Now you imagine my complete madness when she brought up all that when I didn't even know I had to do it, I almost fainted I was sweating so much the seat got wet and it was winter time HAHAHAHA I talked to a couple people in here and got different answers, most of them didn't need to, some of them did and one of them was asked if she knew how, she said not really and the guy said fine but you gotta learn, ok?hahaha

I wish my tester, or whatever the b!itchy lady is called, was like that lol

  4. There goes another easy simple and delicious recipe.

    Pink dessert

-one can of sweetened condensed milk.

-one can of table cream(also called media crema, you can find it at walmart in the latino aisle)

-one can of boiled water(use the sweetened condensed milk can)

-one jello package(any pink ones, pick the one you like more, I think strawberry is the best, though)

Pour the sweetened condensed milk can in a blender.

Place the jello in a tupper ware and and add the water(while still boiling) mix it well until no "little pieces" are left.

Add that to the blender and the table cream, as well.

    Blend it for 2 minutes.

Take it to the frigde for about 2 hours til it's bubbly and hard(it has the consistency of a mousse.)

  5. no one really posted any recipes LOL

I'll start then, I don't think it's any typical or something everyone eats in Brazil, but it's really good, and so far I haven't known anyone that didn't like it.It's also really simple and fast.

    Batatão (big potato)

    -5 of the big potatoes

    -1 teaspoon of salt

-Ham in slices(water added, not the honey ham ####### lol)

-mozzarella cheese (the more cheese, the best!)

-1/2 cup of requeijão(spread cheese named puck, it's a white thingy that's sold in indian/arabic stores, comes in a glass with a blue big cap with a flower on top of it)

Peel the potatoes and slice them in circles, about an inch thick slices, boil water(enough to cover all the potatoes), once it's boiling add the salt teaspoon and add the slices potatoes.

Let them boil always stirring and checking how soft they are, check with a knife, once they break in half, they are good.

Once they are soft, get rid of the water and arrange it in glass thingy(sorry, forgot the name now hahaha like the ones you use for lasagna)like this: one layer of potatoes, one layer of spread cheese, one layer of ham, one layer of cheese, all the way to the top, finish it with a layer of cheese and take it to the oven, medium temperature, for about 10 min(just enough to melt all the cheese).

That's it, it is as simple as it is good, all my family loves it and whoever tried it, can't believe how good and simple it is.

Have fun and let me know if you liked, I'm gonna post a dessert to go with it.

  6. Guys, I failed my driving test here coz I can't parallel park, ok, say it's coz I'm a girl lol

But sorry, I can't!What bugs my mind is that we live in a city that has more parking spots than actual people living around and I've never even seen a spot that you need to park like this.Did you need to do that in your driving tests too?

I think it's completely unnecessary considering there's no need to parallel park ANYWHERE in the city, so why would they ask me to?That kindda sux, hubby tried to teach me but I can't say I learned nor that I'm any good at it lol, so what to do?I don't wanna fail again, do you think it varies between different branches, coz there are a bunch of them here that I can try, I'm not sure if the lady asks everyone to do so, or if it was just me, coz she was a b!atch from the beginning talking about Mexicans and such like I have anything to do with them or illegal immigrants, maybe I just got a lady that hated foreigners and wanted a reason to fail me?Or is it really required?I really don't wanna have to do it, specially coz I don't need to do parallel park anywhere. Please let me know if it was any different from yours!

  7. I finally got it!!!!1

  8. one thing only?How about a list?HAHAHAHA

We "divide" the chores (AKA he takes the trash out and helps me doing the laundry), he often complains he is too tired of doing soooooo much.

He is the pickiest person, I've ever met, it pisses me off so bad, all he eats is cheese pizza, mozzarella sticks and eventually pasta, THAT'S IT!Ah, he eats lasagna too, twice a year, may be, so needlessly we can't enjoy a meal together, since he only snacks.

He can't keep the house tidy, no matter when, how or why, I just finish cleaning and he goes take the dog out and enters the house with muddy shoes, I just wanna hit him in the head with a pan hahahaha

I'm pretty annoying, as well, but we love each other and can live with it, even though sometimes we have a couple fights lol

    WOW!!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!

So it looks like infopass works better than calling :( ding it...I should have done that

I guess so, the lady that talked to me was very friendly and seemed to be very informed, even though we had to drive 5 hours back and forth and hubby missed work, it was all worth it, I didn't expect it to be that fast, less than 24 hours, WOW, I guess that just means they aren't as busy just need a pinch to start working again hehehehe

If your local office is close, definitely go for an Infopass, if not just wait for your interview, it's not that much of a wait and you won't need the card anyway :P

  11. .

I was clearly told by a US council that I would not get K1 visa until I complete 2 years HRR which I did. So I got K1.

Since 2001, obviously I was in Japan for over 2 years. and I even faxed the US embassy in Tokyo to ask if I met the requirement or not. The answer was yes. As long as I total all the time I spent in Japan after J1 is over 2 years, I should be fine.

Do you still have that fax?Send them a copy if you do, looks like they are looking for gaps just to make people's life harder, geez!
