  1. Hey guys, just to let you know we had our appointment today at the Boston office and we are APPROVED!

So the low-down..we go to the JFK building and go through the x-ray security, and then to the room on the letter. They tell us to go to another room and the guy takes my interview notice and tells me to go back to the original room. So w wait, and its filling up with loads of people and quite a few have lawyers..getting nervous...

And we finally get called after what seems like an eternity but was probably about 15 minutes and I'm pretty sure we got the same guy as Beantownbabe cos he mentioned he was on his 3rd career. We had to take the oath to tell the truth and then we sat down and he had all the paperwork we had sent on the desk. He asked us for birth certificates, passports, my EAD, my I-94. He asked us for each other's dates of birth, some bills with our names on them and confirmed a few details already on the form. I brought much more than this but that's all he asked for After a lot of stamping and signing places he then asked the 'are you a terrorist' questions, and it was difficult to keep a straight face in all honesty. And he took out the large red stamp pad and stamped approved right on the form.

He then mentioned about removing conditions and said we were to wait for a letter back in the waiting room and to have a nice day! So we got the letter after about 30 minutes wait and that's it!

Thank you so much to all the visa journey members who have helped us with questions we've had over this confusing process. No doubt we will see many of you over in the removing conditions forum in 18 months time! Good luck with upcoming interviews and speedy approvals to all!

    Fuzzymiss

    CONGRATULATIONS Fuzzymiss!! :dance::dance::dance:

What kind of letter did they give you back in the waiting room if you don't mind me asking? The Welcome letter? :star:

  2. hey rosie74 was your interviewer a woman or a guy? just curious i heard women are thought and always suspicious asks many questions rather than men?

My interviewer was a guy. His name is Inspector Jordan, in case you are assigned to the same person. He tried to intimidate us at first, but when he realized we were not really getting scared, he changed his attitude right away and he actually became pretty friendly and didn't ask many questions at all.

I'm sure you'll do fine, you have plenty of proof!

  4. ok so I have a kind of stupid question:)I made copies of every document and I am bringing both the originals and the copies with us to the interview.when they ask for a document do I show the copy of that document or the original?I mean if they want to keep it do they ask me if they can keep it or if i have a copy?

or should I just hand them the copies and if they ask the originals then show the originals???

Bring both original and a copy

They'll tell you what they need. Normally they just want to see the original and keep the copy.

Good luck with the upcoming interview!!

  5. I'm finally back from the USCIS office, and we are APPROVED!!!

Our appointment was at 10:00, but we were only called in at 11:10.. and all the waiting was really nerve-wrecking!

We were finally called in and introduced to the officer that interviewed us, who scared us right away by telling us he had just finished the paperwork for 2 arrests for sham marriage!! Obviously he did that to intimidate us, but since we had nothing to hide we actually showed we were very calm and his attitude changed right after that. He asked us for the original passport and marriage certificate, my husband's divorce papers, how we met, where, where did we live and currently live, the names of my husband's kids and how old they are.

Then he looked at some of the wedding pictures we brought and said he didn't need any more paperwork from us. He went through my medical and signed it off, then took out a big stamp with "APPROVED" on it and stamped a couple of papers with it.

He took my I-94, my EAD card (sigh.. I wanted to keep it as a memory..) and my AP papers and told me we will have to remove conditions in 2 years since we have been married for less than 2 years (even if we're only 4 months short!).

Then we had to sign some paper and date it and that was it. He congratulated us for being his first real marriage of the day (!!), and told us we should get the card in 10 days. If not, he even gave us his name and phone number to call him!!

Overall, we were in and out in 15 minutes.. too bad we waited over an hour to be called!

I'm happy!! Now we're immigration free for one year and 9 months.. then we start again! LOL!

Good luck to everyone else with pending interviews or pending approvals (Canadianmade, you're in my thoughts and I hope something good will happen very soon!)

    Good luck everyone!!

  6. Why, oh why, OH WHY is there a freakin' snowstorm blasting through tonight leading into tomorrow when I am supposed to have my interview?!!!!! Noooooooooooooooo! I HAVE to get there, I HAVE to have my interview tomorrow, I can't bear the suspense any longer! 8-15 inches of snow, when I just can't take another flake! I just want my interview to be over.....

I am thinking about you!! Go kick some butt and come back with your approval!!

  7. That is ok Rosie and thank you kindly for trying and searching for that info, I greatly appreciate it. I will definately take that advice you just mentioned about if I dont hear anything by the end of the month, oh I will absouetly raise hell, I am not kidding around, I think this is absouletly ridiculous and messed up to have people be in the dark like this. I really dont remember the name of the IO, but all I know is she was an older indian or pakistani lady. Thank you so much for talking to your friend and asking for that info about their experience that applies to our experience, it is very helpful and good to hear that I am not the only one who has gone through this. I will take that advice and start putting some action into play and harass the hell out of these people. I just responded to a thread in the AOS thread, this couple had their AOS interview on Dec 10, 2008 I believe and they still havent heard anything about their decision from the interview in 10 weeks, no verbal approval nothing, I believe they are from the U.K., unbelievable and they are in Seattle. This is an example of cruel and inhumane treatment from USCIS, I cant believe it and I am on day 16, lol sometimes I have to lol but its not funny at all, its crazy. Thank you Rosie honestly, and I know you will get approved at your interview and wouldnt wish this ####### on anyone.

Trust me, if I would be in your same sitauation (and I might be, a couple of weeks from now..) I would be very upset myself. Consider my future job depends on the fact I get my Green Card in a timely manner, so it would be very frustrating not knowing what to expect, or what to say to my possible future employer!

My friend is from Germany, and her application took 2 years before she was called for the interview. When she went, they told them they forgot to file a form (she couldn't remember which) and they had to start all over from scratch. Consider they never received an RFE! At that point her husband stood up, asked to talk to a supervisor and they let them file the missing form right there, but they didn't approve them at the interview. A month goes by and she still hadn't heard anything, so her husband started to be really upset and called and called and called until he got a hold of the officer that was on their case, and a week after the phone call, they received the Welcome letter in the mail.

Even if you don't know the name of the officer, I would still try to call and get a supervisor, or better, go there on Infopass and ask for the officer that interviewed you or a supervisor. It can't hurt :)

  8. I understand Rosie and for sure maintaining a job is the most important, I did mean the warm weather being bonus. Absouletly this is very inhumane, I would think, if you already had your interview, that you should at least know your faith at the interview or at least within a week or so, or something. I wasnt given any hints or anything to work with, so we are here in the dark with nothing to work on. Thank you so much for willing to research what you mentioned and I really would love to find this info out because this is really rediculous.

I found the source but it was for Naturalization, not for the Green Card, sorry :(

If I were you if I don't hear/receive anything by the end of the month, I would schedule an Infopass. Do you remember the name of the officer that interviewed you? That might be helpful. I have a friend who waited about 1 month without hearing anything (I just asked her because I remember it took her a while..), then her husband (US Citizen) started calling, faxing, emailing and requesting information always mentioning the officer that interviewed them and sure enough, they probably got tired of the nagging and finally approved them. At this point I would stop waiting and would start bombarding them with requests :)

  9. Oh ok I think it is so terrible you have to worry about your job in this crappy economy. I do hope you do get this opportunity in San Diego as the good news is its alot warmer there than Chicago. Yeah tell me about it, it is totally inhumane to keep people in the dark about their decision and it is so irritating. I do hope to get some word soon and I will definately inform everyone any news I receive. Thanks for the support. Good luck to you on your interview and you will be fine.

Yeah, I consider the warmer weather to be a "bonus", but right now I am more concerned to be able to keep working :)

It is VERY inhumane they still haven't gotten back to you. I do believe I read somewhere they have a certain time to respond, and beyond that time they HAVE to give you an answer one way or another, but I can't remember where I read that. Let me make some research..

  10. Hi Rosie,

I've been wondering how you were! I hope things work out for you - good news is on it's way just a couple of weeks from now! I believe your interview is the day after mine? San Diego is calling your name and hopefully you will be there soon enough! :star:

    Thank you Beantownbabe :)

Yeah.. my mind was not really in the right place that past 10 days.. I've been wondering what to do about the job and now more than ever I need my Green card so I can move on!

Yeah, my interview is March 3rd, so less than 2 weeks now.. I'm so nervous!!

But thank you so much, you will be doing great at your inteview also, I know it!! :star:

    Hi Guys :star:

Just received our Green Cards in the mail this afternoon :dance::dance:

Was checking USCIS website for the past weeks but still says case received and pending

Go go go October filers

    Congratulations!!! :dance::dance::dance::thumbs:

  11. Thanks alot Rosie and nice to hear from you again. I am sorry to hear what is going on in your current job and I do hope you do get that job opportunity in San Diego, what position is it you are going for if you dont mind me asking? I do hope to get my green card and tommorow I am on day 14 :(

Thank you so much Canadianmade. I will be going for the same position I am right now, just a smaller office so I will probably do more than a specific task like I am doing now. I'm in the shipping industry so in the end it's all the same stuff :)

I can't belive you're still left there hanging. I am so sorry about this and I really believe good news are on the way to you, but it's really cruel the way they keep you hanging.

Keep us posted if you have any news (even a little "touch" on your application).

    Rosie-

Sorry to hear about your job situation..but everything will work out..its in your favor.

Thank you so much SweetnSexc! I really appreciate it :)

  12. Hi everyone!!

I am very sorry I didn't get a chance to post much or update the sheet these past few days. I am having kind of a rough time at work.. they're talking lay offs and I just upset my boss so that doesn't help :(

So I'm spending most of my free time looking for alternatives. I have an opportunity in San Diego, CA, but they are waiting for me to let them know when I will be receiving my Green Card, since I don't want to move out there before I receive the actual card, so that's up in the air too until I get good news from USCIS.

So again, I'm sorry I haven't been updating the spreadsheet in a timely manner, I promise I'll try to do better.

Congratulations to all the approvals!! I am literally shocked by the number of approvals that are coming for us October filers! Canadianmade will be next, I can feel it! ;)

Kimcorene, thank you for the list you've prepared, I will be using it to prepare mine! I see the secret's out now, so I can wish ALL THE BEST for you and your little one in public now ^_^

I have now updated the spreadsheet, please let me know if I've forgotten someone, I hope not!
