  1. I love living in San Diego. I just got a volunteer job at Helen Woodward Animal Center working with cats. I am very excited.

Hey Sarah, I just moved to San Diego! What a wonderful city it is!

Unfortunately I won't be able to file for my Removal of Conditions until Dec 2010.. still way ahead, but I'm always here on the forum gathering experience from all of you!

  2. Probably not AT&T, as AT&T in Texas is the same way, cannot add another name, doesn't matter house phone/internet/cable TV, only one name, probably the one with better credit, otherwise they would ask for security deposit. Electricity and gas are easy, they don't even ask any question or ask to see any documents.

I had AT&T in Chicago as well, but it showed 2 names, that's why I thought it wasn't a problem.. oh well, it's probably going to be ok even without the utility bills, like rkl57 said. :star:

  3. Hi guys,

I'm already gathering all documents and evidence of our marriage for my removal of conditions, even if I just received my conditional card 2 months ago :innocent:

Anyway.. I have just relocated to San Diego from Chicago, and when I set up the utilities I was told that in California you can't show 2 names on the bills (mine and my husband's). Is this true? I wanted to have both names on our utilities as extra evidence for my paperwork..

    Any advice?

    Thank you!

  4. Oh my goodness!! I missed so much good stuff in the past few days!!

Canadianmade: FINALLY SOME GOOD NEWS FOR YOU!!   I can't wait to change that white line into a yellow one on the spreadsheet! I really hope you'll hear good news soon, after all, they HAVE to return your passport and birth certificate back to you!

Kimcorene: Congrats for receiving the Green Card!! :star::dance:  Now you can concentrate on your baby :star:

To all the ones that are still waiting, everything will work out eventually, and I do hope all October filers will have their Green Cards in their hands soon!

As far as I'm concerned, I'm going through a bit of stress caused by my current work place. I was waiting for my new job in San Diego to be finalized but my current employer is giving me a hard time since I made them aware of the situation. In the meantime my husband also found a job in the area and he's starting already on the 27th of April, while I'm still trying to get everything worked out! So on top of having to organize an out of State move, I also have the added stress of not knowing WHEN/IF I will have a job when we do move! Sorry.. I had to vent :(

Oh well, I guess I shouldn't complain too much about it, it's just that I didn't think it was going to be so much of a hassle.

It'll all be over, one way or another, right?

    Good luck everyone!

  5. The correct fee for I-485 / I-130 / I-131 / I-765 filed concurrently is:

$ 1010 (or 930 + 80, it doesn't matter) to US Department of Homeland Security

$ 355 to US Department of Homeland Security.

    So, you either send 3 checks (930 + 80 + 355) or 2 (1010 + 355) both made to US Department of Homeland Security.

Do not send the I-131 separately. Send all together to the Chicago lockbox and the fee is waived because filed concurrently with the AOS papers.

    Good luck!

  6. On the I-751 form it says

NOTE: Unless a traffic incident was alcohol or drug related, you do not need to submit documentation for traffic fines and incidents that did not involve an actual arrest if the only penalty was a fine of less than $500.00 and or points on your driver's license.

because it says "incidents that did not involve an actual arrest if the only penalty was a fine of less than $500.00" does this mean our municipal code violation can be considered as one of these exceptions because the maximum fine is 200$ for first offense?

The way I read it, that only applies to traffic violations, not to retail theft. I would report it, if I were you. Better to report it and let them judge than find out you had to to report it but you didn't.

  7. I know  . Hubby says he is glad we no longer have the USCIS cloud over our heads, at least for right now.

It does feel very good, doesn't it? However, I'm finding myself already starting to gather evidence for when we'll be removing conditions! I know it's early, but better be super prepared so next time around we'll hopefully get it done without an interview! :star:

  8. Most non-immigrants do not have alien registration numbers.

The "A" number is hand written on the I-94.

The only handwritten number of my I-94 starts with "WAC" and is on the back side. I assume that's not A# since it doesn't start with "A"?

You don't have one yet. I was on an L1B visa (also a work visa like yours) amd I only received my A# after I filed for AOS. Just put "None" when requested and you'll have one assigned with your first NOA

  9. Thanks and many congratulations, Rosie! How funny that we were on almost the exact same time schedule!!!

True, just a few days difference! :)

We'll definitely be together again when it's time to remove conditions! But now we're free for another 21 months..

Mu husband and I are going out for dinner tonight.. time to celebrate my "not so green" Green Card! What color would you call it? Beige? Egg shell? Tan?
