Hey Friends, I know I have asked this before, but I just want to make sure of this: While our petitions were pending at VSC, my wife renewed her passport with married name because it would have expired before she came here, while the names I put on the application was her maiden name (including middle and last names). Will this be a problem in any way in terms of getting visa or at POE?

ok guys, my case number has been assigned by the NVC.

Desiman - call NVC and see if yours is assigned as well.

Hey cmnb, did you talk to someone or the AVR says they received it? I called just now and that stupid thing still says "No record". I'll call again to see if someone can tell me if they have it. I got it till midnight to bug them! Thanks for the update.

...and as expected, a nice lady, told me to allow some more time. So back to the week of January 4th.

thats weird... i hope your case gets there soon..why dont u call VSC and see if it has left their office.

i called and spoke to a very unpleasent guy. oh well, who cares if he was nice or not.

Up to 2 weeks to get into the NVC system is about normal. Beyond that...there's a problem.

If you're not in the system within 2 weeks of getting approved (maybe allow an extra week for the holidays) then your file may be lost somewhere.

NVC should be on your speed dial....if you're trying to get through as fast as possible...or if you have nothing better to do than constantly check on your case.

Either one is a good excuse to call....it's our tax dollars (and application fees) at work.

It is weird. I don't understand. I've already called VSC and they said they've sent it.

So given the holidays, I'd say if it's not in by 9th, I am raising hell with both offices with constant calls until they tell me they have my applications. Driving me nuts.

Thanks Desiman. Not completely done. Still waiting for NVC to complete our case, and find out if I could get a better interview date from them. I'll start calling them on Monday as all our docs were received today. I'll give them one day grace period.

About India interviews, I really don't have an answer Sonissharmin. I guess it's just a factor of the Mumbai Consulate handling so many applications. While I don't like how far away our interview date is, it looks to be the norm for people in our situation. Glad to have a date, and I know time will fly by regardless of what happens.

Hoping that you can get a nearer date in Dhaka.

its funny how we all are praying for the holidays to be over so USCIS/NVC can get their butts to work. on the other hand, the whole world is in the holiday fever and never wants it to end.

LOL, that's funny but true. With that said, I do want the New Year to arrive faster (in hours) and get them people back in the office. I guess that's a little bit of selfishness...

My I-129 was sent to Mumbai on Monday. The AVR has no records for my I-129F. My I-130 has been entered in the system but no generation of DS-3032 or AOS bill yet. NVC is working today and I hope that they can get to your case today. If not, just couple more days and holidays are over.

That's good news. I'm hoping to see progress on Monday, if not early.

Just called NVC and the operater told me to wait 90 days for my case to recieve there. wow. i don't know what to do anymore... :crying: :crying:

I hope you'll get everything on the 5th maybe your case is @ their office but not yet uploaded to their systems. maybe on the 5th not only your case will be upload but your ds3032 will be generated and AOS bill as well. do you have everything ready? if so you just need the green light from them and you will be done in a breeze. my delays had been the holidays and that I forgot to make my husband signed the ds3032 so I had to wait till he send it to me.

Yes Dessi! slowly but sure! i thought i was going to be more delayed but has been ok. can't complain! and i'm happy now because i found the pictures so i don't need to wait for my husband's mail!

It looks like NVC will start in the New Year for me... maybe the 5th.

That's good news! Danile & Jen, i just paid my IV bill and am ready to send in the DS302 just waiting to get passport pic from my husband as i don't know how i lost the ones we send me last time when we filed the i-130 :S

Looks like slowly but surely we're making some progress with NVC.

Is anyone else experiencing the same delay? Last thing I want to know from them is they can't find it.

Just called NVC, they told me what I already know. My NVC case number....

I hope they will genrate my DS 3032 by wednesday...

Desi - Did you talk to an operator? I was able to get Case #s for both petitions however, nothing has happened so far. I just got the Case # for I-130 although I will re-confirm later in the day. If you don't have it still, you should be able to get it tonight or tomorrow morning.

Yeah, for the past week, I've only gone through the AVR, but since last two calls, I have talked to opetarors... a good one and a bad one! LOL
