  1. Thank you Charles, Nagi, Mamalou, RJG, and daboyz....

.the interview went great, no problems. they where just slow as hell for some reason. actually we bought plane tickets for wife and son to travel on the 8th. figuring that would be plenty of time to recieve the visa, via delbros. but I guess sh@t happens. so we rebooked it for the 25th. just hoping the weather is good in NY AND THEY CAN LAND IN jfk on the 25th.

we didn't convert to IR1 visa cause the bonehead lawyer we hired never advised us to file the I-130 for her son in the beginning. so we just had to follow the K3 path. we only used the lawyer to get us started. and then we finished the process so far with the help of the great people from VJ. we didn't ask too many questions, but we didn't have to. all we had to do was read and pay attention. most questions we had were already asked by others here. we wish all here at VJ a fantastic 2009 and for those who are still apart, a speedy reunion with their loved ones.. thank you all.... Ron and Jojie

  2. congrats!!!!!!

THANKS A BUNCH Y_habibitk, I'm still thinking I have about 10 days to pack and split town if I change my mind ! all kidding aside, I can't believe the long wait is almost over. we will be together for our 1st aniverssary. time to start living again !!!!!! we wish you the best for the rest of your journey.....ronjie (ron)

  3. you are all very kind... I sent my wife a picture of the Blizzard of "77" (1977) from buffalo NY..and explained to her that the winters was like that.. although I don't live there, hahaha. actually I live in northwest NJ.. but it was fun to see her expression when she saw the snow almost to the roof of the house and the cars completely buried in snow.

  4. MY WIFE PASSED HER INTERVIEW ON DEC 19TH, AND WAS JUST NOTIFIED ON JAN 7TH THAT IT WAS RELEASED TO DELBROS. DON'T KNOW WHY IT TOOK SO LONG, BUT WE EXPEXT IT TO BE DELIVERED BY THE 14TH. SHE WILL GET A TEXT THAT SAYS DELBROS DELIVERS WHEN THEY START THE DELIVERY PROCESS. THEN YOU CAN CHECK IT ON THEIR WEBSITE. HOPE HERS IS FASTER THEN MY WIFES....GOOD LUCK

  5. It was? I hope ,if they really have a new courier n, wish they'll deliver our visas soon....

    *******************

i was interviewed last dec 19 and it was Delbros whom i pay for the delivery...and just this morning delbros txted me that our visa are ready to deliver...so it means their courier is still Delbros...does it make sense?

not really, that only means delbros took your money on the 19th, so they have to deliver coz they are paid already. things could have changed since then. I would call the embassy. from here i dial 632 301 2000. and ask the operator to connect you to delbros or their current delivery service...

  6. :rofl::rofl:

there is a middle age lady in the elevator going up to her apt on the 14th floor, and it stops and a younger woman gets on. she is dressed very nice and smells great with perfume. she catches the first lady sniffing her and says, chanell #5 $75.00 an ounce, in a snobby tone. just after that the elevator stops and the door opens and an even younger prettier, well dressed lady gets on. she catches the first two ladies sniffing her perfume and in a snobby tone says, ralph lauren, $150.00 an ounce. well just about then the elevator reaches the floor for the first ladie to get off. and as the door opens she lets out a very loud fart and looks at both of them and says,.. broccolli,.. $0.59 cents a pound !!!

  8. the more letters they can put next to your childs name, the more money they will get from grants. most schools have child study teams now. and they like to take parents (especially single parents) into a small room with a big table. around that table sits about 6 or 8 people, (principle, nurse, school psycologist, special needs teacher, teachers aid, and other members from the child study team) that try to tell you whats best for your child. keep in mind if they do not fill the requirements for the amount of children they will not get the federal and state grants. and some will lose their rather well paying jobs. the truth is most kids will grow out of their social and attention problems (look at Michael Phelps). but the letters in front of their name may hurt them from getting into certain colleges. we as parents know are children best. and do whats best for them !!!

  9. We are not divorced yet. We have a court date at the end of February. His 2nd interview is in July. I removed my name from all things we had "jointly".

As for the "who cares" statement? I just want to say, I am more broken hearted that when someone helps out the less fortunate, you heart gets kicked in! Not sure if it ever happened to you, but it hurts. Yes, I will get over it, but why should he stay here when he abused me and my kids?? He's a liar, cheat, and thief. I should have known better when I went to Nigeria and saw everything that happens over there. Anyways, my soon to be ex said he could "sue me" for not supporting him. Is that true to?

your affidavit of support is a contract with the U.S. government. not your soon to be ex-husband. he can not sue you for support, unless he is eligible for alimony. I would try to get his offer of a bribe to stay, documented. either in writing or recorded. I don't think he has strong grounds to stay here in the U.S. unless its in the county jail or state even better. committing certain crimes can be grounds for deportation also.

  10. @ ~bLairwhich~

Thanks for the info. Yeah I have one of those Kennel. I have traveled with my dog when we went to Bohol & Palawan. I think transporting your dog from US to Philippines is less complicated other than Philippines to US. When you got here in manila, did they release your dog right away, or did she have to undergo quarantines and the like?

The quarantine at NAIA was a very short process, it didn't take long or they ask for non-receipt fees. The quarantine section and/or Bureau of Animals at NAIA were friendly and helpful. The fee was like Php 450.00 then after checking the health certs and vaccine reports and stuffs they let me and my rottie go and didn't took long, I think it was as short as 10 minutes.

I transported/booked flight for my dog last minute....and yes it could be much easier to transport the dog if it is from the US going to the Philippines.

However, the airline usually don't have any problem or critical about the animal transport as long as you have the papers like health cert from the vet...I think what you must do is call the State of Virginia or your point of entry about what are their exact requirements.

    Again, I insist traveling with her/him as a carry-on :)

I would check very good about the carry-on part. there are a lot of people allergic to pets, my son being one of them. you would have a hard time trying to carry-on a pet, unless you could make sure it was on complete opposite ends of the plane. I would be deeply concerned of the negative effects it could cause. especially considering they do not allow the use of a nebulizer on board the plane. which is one of the treatments for the asthma that the allergy can cause. pet allergies can be very severe, as well as many other allergies. just something to think about,. good luck with bringing your dog with you.

  11. I gave my illegal immigrant employee a $500.00 bonus....he was happy. too bad I can't find legal, sober, reliable people that will leave their personal problems at home to hire... oh well.. merry x-mas

  12. My Fiancee just had her CFO experience... Wow, what we thought was JUST going to be a "Good to Know" and "Informative" event turned into partial interrogation on these women.

My Fiancee said that overall they were nice to her but were strict, pushy and sometimes rude to most others. I am NOT sure what this whole CFO thing is really supposed to be but when they start quizing them on my pants size and requesting pictures of us be left with them, it seems to me that its BS... As far as I know (And I may be wrong) CFO is not the convening authority on VISA's and who should and shouldnt depart the country. I COMPLETELY understand what I believed to be the idea behind this program, and that was to... inform the Pinoys traveling abroad and make them completely aware of all their options (A GOOD THING). But when they told my Fiancee that they want to have our picture and she had to go back home to get one for them to keep, I was thinking.. WOW.. do they have that much power? Sounds communist to me...

Sorry for my rant but... We just didnt realize it was going to be like this, kinda thought it was JUST an INFORMATIVE seminar.

Yes they would ask one or two pictures of you and your fiancee together. I don't think it's hard for her to give that to them? It is required and i gave them just one.

usually where I'm from, they wait till after a crime is committed before they get a "mugshot" of the suspect, not before. Its insulting and would be considered illegal, and over stepping their authority in most places. now a picture of the person traveling to put on the certificate would be more appropriate.

  13. Hmm in my opinion the seminar is useless, basically what they teach you is what to do in the event your husband or future husband abuse you, physically or emotionally, the lady who conducted mine has this piece of advise to all of us who were present at the seminar. "Call 911". Big Deal! I think they just want the 750.00 PhP per Filipino who is to marry a foreigner.

Yup!!! That's what I think too... Throughout these posts there is one thing that has been consistant, INCONSISTANCY!!! Some need to have all these papered requirements and pictures, others require nothing. Hmmmm, seems to me that if they were REALLY concerned, they would have the SAME requirement throughout ALL the CFO's. To me it's nothing more than a joke and what they really want is the almighty PESO!!!

    yea, a bad joke !!
