Sooooo, NVC said our file left today ... (I'm still being very careful with jumping and joying ... they scarred me for life ... lololol j/k) so I suppose I have to start tracking tomorrow ...

Thanks Ana, I made Greg call the NVC again just now, and apparently it didn't go with that DHLshipment and it didn't leave NVC ... I can't describe how I feel, I'm really p*ssed off ... problem is that they don't tell you when it's going to leave there ...

That is just so wrong!!!! They better mail out with the next shipment! Keep us posted. And you have every right in the world to be pissed. They never make this journey easier, do they?

I'm trying to remain calm, and I feel calmer now after ranting and venting to my best friend and to Greg ... (sorry guys) I just hate the thought of having to go beg with the Embassy for an interview-date close to when they will receive the file ... I have this kind of superior beings fear (to deal with official instances) And Kim reminded me she and Russ went through the same ... But still ... grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

There are security checks at every stage sweetheart. We were also held up at NVC for 3 weeks while everyone else passed us by. Get what you can get done now and hopefully you'll find it moves very soon. We had everything done and just waiting... this is why our interview was only a day or so after it arrived at the Embassy.

Oh, and just for the record. I got two letters from NVC both stating they'd send the approved petition out in a week... both with dates weeks apart. Never got the letter they're suppose to send that states they actually sent it. Like everything else in this process....

Thanks for the heads up Kim ... I've just been ranting to my best friend for half an hour ... I drove her to desperation. Are we the next Russ and Kim?

Well this way of tracking can lead to major dissapointments believe me. The NVC sent Greg a letter which stated that the file would be send off to Belgium within a week (and he received a second notice after that letter), so assuming that our papers were in the next DHL shipment to Brussels and would be delivered at the Embassy the 22nd, we were very happy! Apparently the files are still wandering around at NVC, we're 2 weeks later ... I see everything I ever hoped for fading very fast now.

U're welcome, dear. Yep, he's calling again. Thanks for sharing the knowledge about NVC! I just really need them to tell me when it's mailed out to the embassy. This having no Packet 3 thing requires me to harress the embassy for the interview date. We literally have to call them the moment petition is received to make sure they input it into their system ASAP so I can call the payline to get my interview spot. And then we wait again...

I know I asked this before but now I want to know what you did ... the question 22 When do you intend to arrive in the US? (provide specific date if known). I just checked the form out online and it seems that you're only able to fill in a date and nothing else (like for instance; aprox. or a plusminus 'date'). Some of those fields on that form have limited characters, like my jobname isn't going to fit completely ... not that I think that is a problem, if they don't give me more space then I can't give the whole name ...

Suggestions, tips, hints, experiences are welcome ...

Since they are asking when you "anticipate", just put "October 2008" or "November 2008" (I would be tempted to write "Yesterday", lol

I sent my effing DS-156K with the rest of the forms...

that one is supposed to go to the interview with me

I emailed them right away, so hoepfully they can send me another...or just keep it until i get there..

Is it different from the one you can find online? You didn't have to sign it, so just fill in a new one ... good luck Jen!! I'm not sure, but I don't think it's a big problem ... And now stop beating yourself up with those hammers ... that hurts!

Alex, I know all about weightloss ... I have to keep an eye on myself these days. I've never had stress biting chunks out of me, but since I know Greg and was/am dying to be with him I'm only half of what I used to be (I had a few too many lots of extras, but they're gone now lol). I really hope you have your interview in 2 weeks, that would make my day!

Ana, thanks for the research ... it's just that all cases are so different. With Dutti everything went pretty smooth and fast, Marash didn't plan on getting married till now, and has her visa for quite some time now and I don't remember the name of the other couple, but for them it took long to get their approval, but once it got to the embassy everything went superfast. So I have no idea what's ahead of me ... Hope the NVC sends your file right out, once they received it

And yea I think it's mainly in the what they call ''visa-fraud'' countries that bringing the petitioner to the interview is a step ahead ...

In Belgium we need to send back: the checklist (checked off, dated and signed) and DS230 Part I (I believe this one needs to be signed) and at the same time pay for the visa and fill in DS-156 online and print it out. We don't have to send the DS156's, we have to take em to the interview with all the rest of the documents ... DS156's must be unsigned. That's all I know right now ...
