Ok guys... this is the Friday before the NVC is supposed to start scheduling! I am very excited to see what news we have next week!

I have yet another question regarding I-864 form. For AOS, this is the form to use, not I-134. But I-134 form has a section printed specifically for notarization, and I don't see anything similar on i-864 form. Does this mean I-864 form don't need to be notarized?

Is there anything need to be notarized for the I-485 package?

The I-864 doesn't need to be notarized. As far as the I485 package, I am not sure.

I hope you get an April interview. One thing about having a spring interview is that it will *hopefully* be warmer when you are standing outside the Consulate at 7am! If I get a March date I'm thinking I'm going to be pretty cold out there! I'm a real wimp when it comes to the cold....

I wasn't even thinking about the weather. We are bringing our infant with us.... man and does it get cold in Montreal. When I went out there over New Years, his fuel pump froze and finally I had to tell him that even though I was giving the baby body heat, we needed to go back inside until we could get help or a ride. We just gotta remember warm clothes!

I was not able to use the automated system either ... same as you.

I also do understand when you say things are falling in place and they will. It did just that for us as well and it took quite a few years .... a long story as well.

We all have our hurdles to get through and you are just over that hump. I look forward to seeing your good news post during the next week

44 more days till Ireland =) that's what I am trying to put my focus on so I don't get depressed about the interview date

I already have it in my head that I will be moving June 1st, just due to job/bonus/vacation time for work

bonus May 2nd if I stay, cash out 3 weeks vacation if I still till june 1st

hehe I know - to much info - so as long as my interview is before June 1st I will be super happy

We got a case complete 2day.....I am not sure if we will be considered when NVC schedles Interviews for March in the second week of Feb

I have called. I wasn't scheduled for Feb, but am hoping for a March date! They say they schedule the second week of the month, but it seems like in December and January they did their scheduling in the first two weeks of the month. I mean watching the timelines and reading threads, it seemed like more were scheduled in the first week than the second, but maybe there were special circumstances with the holidays and all. I don't know. Good luck with getting an interview everyone and I can't wait to see the March dates!

You need the official letter with your interview date before you can get your medical. Getting the medical appointment after that is quick.

You know it's crazy to think we will be dealing with this soon. You know I have been waiting and waiting and I could be wrong but I think we will have a date soon. I almost called the NVC, but when they said we might want to try the automated system, I just hung up. I will try the hanging up and calling back til I get through next week. My case number never registered in the automated system, so I am required to talk to an operator. I am looking forward to being with my hubby, but it is cool how things here seem to be falling in place sorta like it's preparing for his arrival. I know that may sound a bit odd, but seriously that is what seems to be happening. This has been a rough year. We learned about this whole process a year ago almost. (March 28, 2007 to be exact.) We were kinda ignorant to a few things. I had to get the photos from him and the signed forms from him before I could start the process. Right before we got the news, my grandmother had passed away and left me a savings bond which paid for a lot of the immigration stuff. It would be quite a long story to really delve into what our last year has been like, but I think since everything seems to be falling into place we should know. Yikes! It's weird to say that. I hope I am right. I hope that we have lots of good news for those at Montreal this month. You know Travis & Kim even if you get a March date, you could call and have it rescheduled for April and that might give you more availability to a date that is convienient! Well, if any of you call, I can't wait to hear your news. I probably will call when I notice that the CR-1/IR-1 have interview dates for March... otherwise next week! I know we all are saying next week, but shhh... I am secretly wanting to know news this week! Dang it! lol... sorry for my rant!

I was surprised to get my Green Card in the mail today. That took just under 4 weeks.

I am still waiting for my Social Security Card. I figured I better just apply for it which I did last week

I called tonight, but just as I expected they haven't started scheduling for March yet. She said they are scheduling next week so I should call the third week of February. So, no news really. She was a really nice operator though! I could hear sympathy in her voice.

I'm hoping to hear good news on February 13- then celebrate it on Valentine's day with my husband!

I didn't read this until now. I too called and he said, "we actually will be scheduling March interviews next week." I also notice there are no new interview dates in the CR-1/IR-1 Immigration Timelines. It just seems like even though they say that they don't schedule until the second week that most of the interviews for both December and January that were for later dates, I guess for Jan and Feb that they scheduled during the first week of the month. lol I want to know now! I laugh because I feel like a young child demanding my own way. We will know something soon! Hang in there!

They sure are... I feel like we are playing Yahtzee or on a game show with the Come on down...lol I am just joking. I feel the same way, I am very interested to find out our interview date (s). I did call yesterday to just "see" and nothing yet. Hang in there! We should know by next week or the week after.

Shiri- Any word on your interview date yet?? Our case was just completed at the NVC on 1/28. I am just trying to project (if possible) our time frame.

Some of the other recent CR-1 cases with Montreal interviews were:

Completed NVC - 10/30/08 ; Interview - 1/07/09 = 68 days

Completed NVC - 11/05/08 ; Interview - 1/13/09 = 69 days

Completed NVC - 11/06/08 ; Interview - 1/16/09 = 71 days

Completed NVC - 11/14/08 ; Interview - 1/27/09 = 74 days

They do appear to be gradually getting longer between completion and the actual interview, but that is an average of 70 days. That would put yours at 2/10. I saw you said that all the interviews were given out for Feb... what is the deal now??

I know I am still a couple months away, but just trying to get an idea...

It show trends of interviews and such from August of 2007 til current.

For CR-1/IR-1 visas, NVC schedules the interview. There's some exceptions to this. I think Guangzhao is one. It also depends on how many open slots they have at the Consulate. In my situation, my case was complete Nov. 18, 2008, but they didn't schedule me in December for a January interview because they were full. The scheduled me in January for a February interview. IMHO I think that NVC schedules their appointments first, and then the Consulate schedules the K visas with whatever is left over. I don't know this to be fact, but it seems to be the case by looking at timelines.

Thank you for sharing your story it is encouraging! I mean about how you didn't get scheduled in Dec even though you were done in Nov. My first completion date was Nov 20, but for some reason they moved my completion date out to Dec 1. I am thinking it was because I had sent an email with an attachment of the doc I was sending for my RFE and it took them that long to attach it to my file. I was bummed, but it is ancient history now. I am just hoping for a date soon. Anyways... thanks again for your comment.

I agree. It's never a good idea to rely on government bureaucracy. NY DMV even sent me back to US customs because they did not stamp the import form for my car.

I hope that goes ok. NY has some interesting laws concerning cars. A few years ago, I was licensed in 48 states in insurance and NY really stands out to me still because of how different things are. I don't work in insurance anymore. I just remember that they charge you per day that you don't have insurance on your car and that they have barcodes on their insurance cards. Good luck with it all.

I'm waiting for an interview now as well. When I talked to the operater this past Friday she said that they are still scheduling February interviews. I guess this is another waiting game.

It really is. At least at the USCIS level you can get a rough idea of where they are with processing and such. I wish there was a way to see for each consulate where they are for scheduling. Ya know... like Jan done scheduling date XXX. That would be awesome. I got my NOA2 on Sept 12. I got my case complete on Dec 1 and still haven't been scheduled yet. The waiting and not knowing is the hardest part. Hang in there!

It was slightly more random.

I had called on the Monday (the 17th of the month - so third week of that month) - they had already told me 'nothing' the previous week. When I called on the Monday she told me to call back at the end of the week as they were not finished scheduling for Montreal.

So, of course, instead of waiting until the end of the week I called on the Thursday (20th) (might even have been the Wednesday (19th) haha).

Prior to getting this nice operator on the phone I had more than one person, I believe, telling me to call back the week of the 11th of January.

Ok, lol, you talked me into it. I will either try calling later today or at the end of the week.

Nothing from me either. I called Fri and nothing, called Mon and they were closed for Martin Luther King day. I didn't call today. I think I will wait a bit. Trailmix, when you called on the 19th or 20th when you found out, was it the third Fri of the month or was it more random in checking?
