Why dont you study for CNA or LVN, get a job then study RN if you still want to pursue that career. I agree that you should not part with your husband even if you are still a young couple. You don't know what may happen tomorrow (knock on wood).
There are lots of schools here that offer programs for CNA, LVN or RN. Plus, as you ave mentioned, air fare will cost you a lot. Better spend the money on schools here, and be with your husband.

Positive PPD test means you were exposed to a person with Tb, in which the Philippines is endemic with. Exposure wouldn't mean you have Tb disease unless proven otherwise with the gold standard for its diagosis which is the Tb culture. PPD test is not interchangeable with Quantiferon Tb Gold Test. Quantiferon has just been approved by USFDA to check for Tb suspect patients. Negative Quantiferon means that you will be unlikely to have TB disease. It is not yet widely used in practice because there are still only few data to support its use.
False positive PPD result is seen in patients with kidney failure, diabetes , health care workers and those who receive BCG vaccine. Many people who were born outside the United States may have had a vaccine "BCG," which can lead to a false-positive test result. However, many experts believe that a past BCG vaccination should not change the PPD result when the test is done 15 years after the vaccination.
dbears, it is not yet recommended for use in persons younger than 17 years of age, as there are only limited data regarding its use. It is still a new diagnosic test.

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
God loves you so much that He gave His only Son to save you.
Do you say, “I love you Father” with smile #1 in your daily prayer and actions?

The $1010 fee includes the cost for AP and EAD. Since you did not apply for AP and EAD during AOS, just include a copy of the receipt of AOS when sending the appliccation forms.

So no biometrics in the mail today..however, the I-765 application is showing up online! Strange that the other three aren't, but I won't complain.
Here's a question: I noticed that Chris and I seem to be the only people in this group adjusting from an L-1 visa (sorry I haven't updated that yet)..does anyone know if he'll be exempt from the biometrics appointment (as he already had this done for this visa)?
Thanks, and congrats to all who received good news today!
What's an L1 visa?

It is not contagious....so no worries!
-
Medical problem that will warrant visa denial are contagious diseases such as syphilis and HIV/AIDS. The communicable Tb wil be treated first before the applicant will be given a visa to enter US, but still most of treated TB patient/applicants were given visa.
Another medical problem that the immigration officers are looking for are mental illnesses that will render the applicant dangerous to others and herself.
Regarding your heart murmur, it is not contagious, however, they want to make sure that sure illness will not make to a public charge to the US government. They might think that you want to migrate to the US to get free medical attention.
So to prove them that you will not be a public charge to the US, EKG and/or 2Decho might be done.
Does your heart problem affect your daily life? Are you aware of what causes it? Rheumatic heart fever or congenital heart disease? Do you know the grade of your murmur?

“But wisdom is vindicated by her works.” - Matthew 11:19
Who are the family and friends you wish to bring to a personal relationship with the Lord? What have you been doing to achieve this end?
I close my eyes and think of all those who need You the most right now, Lord. Touch them in a special way. Use me to do so this day. Amen.

When we were on our K1 process, we never checked our status online (because I didn't know about that). But after 4 months, the exact waiting period for K1 according to the processing times, we got our NOA2. Don't worry so much, it will come. It will be done ccording to our Lord's time.

fiance visa going to us pano kaya yun hirap nmn kse magmahal ng nasa nmalayo ska pwedeng mag tagalog kse pinoy din nmn ang gusto kong mkausap bt mag trying hard mag english
If you want only Pinoys to respond on your post, post it under Philippine forums. You may not have noticed but you are in AOS forum.
Regarding your post, can you give us further info? Interview for what are we talking about? AOS or K1?
If you are talking about your interview at USEM, you will just have to bring your annulment papers and present it to the CO. The pschological test they do during annulment process will not affect your K1 process unless you actually have a psychological problem/illness that will endanger other persons.
Did you undergo the medical appointment at SLEC? If you passed your medical exam then you are good to go!
I hope this will help.

“Keep salt in yourselves and you will have peace with one another.”

“Let there be such oneness between us that when one cries the other tastes salt.” (Anonymous)
Holy Spirit, salt me with the fire of Your love and Your peace.

It's okay, mine is a maroon also, there hasn't been any problem with the embassy.

Hi there..can I ask you if you received your biometrics appointment letter with your NOAs? (Actually, this can go out to everyone!) If not, how long did it take between receiving your NOAs and your appointment letter? I can't seem to find this on anyone's timeline, and I'd love to know the normal wait time. Thanks, all!
Mine came together on the same day, 3 NOA's and a biometrics letter. It will come soon, don't worry much. I waited for mine to arrive in the mail after 14 days I think.

“Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles.” – Matthew 5:41
Is your service self-centered or is it altruistic in aim?
Lord, You gave Your all in service to the Father. Teach us to serve like You.

As long as your visa packet is not altered and you answer their questions truthfully, you'll be fine. The lines to the immigration officer are long, though.

“The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”
– Matthew 9:37
How far are you willing to go to share the Good News?
Lord, give me a sense of urgency to spread your Gospel.

My fiance called this morning and the embassy told him ,just to WAIT it is still in AR if they need something they will call me. For everyone who has the same with my case, just have faith and pray to God with no doubts.
The call reps that answer your inquiries always tell the callers that their cases are under AR. They are not allowed to say anything more than that. And, they are not in the USEM, they are staying in a call center outside the embassy. When you call, they will just enter your case number in a computer. They dont have a physical access to your case. And some of them dont really know what they are talking about. They give rehearsed responses.
In my experience, one time I called USEM hotline because I couldnt get hold of Grace and Grace would only want to talk with USC's (racist!!). The call rep told me that my case was still under AR, and the CO has not yet updated my case (that was a week after they received my document verification results). On that very same moment as I was talking to a call center rep, without my knowledge, my then fiance was calling Grace. She told him that my visa was already printed and was ready to be sent by Delbros.
Just keep yourself busy and pray!

It doesn't matter if the beneficiary is unemployed or not. What the CO is more concerned of, is whether the petitioner can provide for the beneficiary and not resulting to the beneficiary being a public charge to the US government. So the petitioner must prove that his income is 125% above the poverty line.

i got the ssn (card) 2 weeks upon my arrival here in cali, that was sept 26. i got the ssn in less than 30 min. theres a print on the card saying..VALID FOR WORK WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION. is this dhs authorization means the EAD card? No, that means that your SSN will be valid for work if you receive your EAD card from DHS.
im planning to go back there for a name change actually. what document aside from the marriage certificate, will i show them for me to get my name change? or presenting the certificate enough? Yes, you can have your name changed by presenting your marriage certificate. That's what I did. Although, you may go back there to change your name after you get you GC or EAD. And the phrase VALID FOR WORK WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION will bot be written on the card anymore.
will ssa change my name even without EAD yet? Yes, they will change your name into your married one, but still you can not wor without the EAD or GC.
tnx!

Yeah, in CA, DMV requires SSN to get a driver license.

The lawyer just wants to get money from you. Adjusting status from a tourist visa will take a very long time and will end up in an unpredictable outcome (she might not be approved on the count of visa fraud). In that situaion, you will be needing lawyers services. They will just suck money out of you in an endless battle with the USCIS.

… be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient…
– 2 Timothy
“No matter how much tarnish you think is on the tabernacle of your heart you still shine because of God’s love.” (Mark Woodward)
Lord, I come to You in convenient and inconvenient times. I trust in Your grace and Your love. Amen.

Is there no way that they can patch things up? If none, then she has to go back home. Being out of status, she will have a hard time looking for a stable job, she can't apply for SSN and driver's license. How will she sustain her stay her without money?
