I found this at the bottom of the page...(i'm terrible for not reading things thoroughly..lol)
Note on "Last Updated" date:
Your case may have a new "Last Updated" date and you may receive an Email and/or text message notification of your case being updated, without the status of the case changing. This is due to internal USCIS processing being performed on your Case. This will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date, but may not result in a different status message.
So i'm guessing all will be well, and status won't be changed until next stage is ready.
Let's hope it's soon
-
Exactly the same with mine (AOS Application) they received my RFE 2 weeks ago, yet my status still says Request For Evidence. I'm not worrying too much as at least they have acknowledged that they have it and are continuing with my case.
Fingers crossed we both get an update soon
-
So long as it has the official stamp from where the document was issued (ussually in a colour rather than black ink) you should be fine. most divorce papers look like photocopies except for the official mark so i wouldn't worry
Good Luck
Selina.

Another 4 pages of ego clashing and sniping culminating in a complete waste of time reading! what is this forum coming to? Can't people just answer the damn question or shut up?
I wouldn't bother with the perfume box, though receipts/photographs/letter's/b-day cards etc would be a better way to go
Good luck!

Thanks for confirming, i figured they might want to see the K1 so decided to hold on to it until i've got AOS.....ooh its never ending..lol
-
Thanks Nich-Nick
I didn't duplicate anything, strange they should ask for the marriage cert and nothing else. Anyway..another copy sent, will cross my fingers and see
-
Awe...a big congratulations to all you guys, you all are moving so quickly now
I've sent out a copy of my marriage cert today with a cover note explaining they already have an original! I still think its strange...they're arranging my sons biometrics....yet i have to send further evidence. I will just have to be good and patient i guess
-
Biometrics done this morning took all of 5 mins, now back to waiting for more news, lets hope the next news I get is that we are being transferred to California, just want my EAD as I am BORED!!!
Sooo jealous...lol Congrats
-
Welcome back pothegavel
Congrats Magpie on your bio app..i think you're going to get the marmite before me hehe!
Today i got an RFE! Seems they want a copy of our marriage certifcate, i'm not completely insane and sent them an original (we ordered 2 trying to be organised..lol)
The only reason i can think of is i sent in 2 AOS petitions (one for myself and one for my son) all the evidence was submitted with both apllications and fees in the same packet!
Should i have sent duplicate evidence?

A divorce would impact both of you. She would have to wait two additional years to file for citizenship if you separate and get divorced. You would still be obligated to provide support under the Affidavit of Support you filed on her behalf. A divorce would not relieve you from that obligation.
In a divorce settlement, wouldn't this just be rolled into monthly payments of "Spousal Support"?
ps,
This is why I would never marry overseas and do a CR/1: With a K1, at least you have a 90 day adjustment period before getting married, and not immediately bound under a legal relationship if it proves she is not adjusting to the new country/relationship.
OP, I feel your pain, and really hope things work out for you somehow. Just take a few steps back, take some deep breaths and reevaluate your situation and get a new perspective. Good luck
Excellent advice! though if you think 90 days is long enough to 'adjust' to a new country..oh dear! believe me, it's not.
-
This is a terrible story, all the effort in bringing a loved one over, getting married and having a child, it's a lot! Is it really that bad? maybe marriage counsilling would be an option? putting any child through this kind of thing can be detremental to them, divorce should be a last resort. Whatever you decide, try and put the childs needs ahead of your own, maybe he WANTS to be with both of you so going for full custody could cause more harm than good!
I wish you the best!

Basically you need to contact both your bank and employer and ask for them, there should be no problem getting them to send you bank statements or employment letter
-
oooh so much good news, makes me feel all warm inside...lol
Congrats to Damian too

Buster, if you havent already, check out this thread,
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=189022
It's a UK AOS thread, has all kinds of helpful hints..
-
If you had all your vaccinations in the UK just a copy of the DS-3025 will do. If you had any vaccinations since arrival in the US then you need the I-693A to be filled in by a civil surgeon
-
why can't you people put your ###### claws away and just give advice? I'm sorry but you don't know this guy or his relationships past/present.. if you can't be pleasant then say nothing, this forum is for advice and support (or maybe i'm wrong) not to judge wether someone is a good person or not!!!!
-
So many judgmental and patronising views...so sad as this site helps so many people with the visa process.
If these kids are biologically yours, I'd do some homework and find out EXACTLY where you stand! If you wait for immigration to find out, it might be even worse.

Interesting information on this issue here: http://www.ssa.gov/oig/ADOBEPDF/audittxt/A-08-07-17044.htm
I wonder if they've changed the issuance policy in accordance with the recommendations in this audit report?
Hmm not sure, i arrived in may and applied for my SS card in June, it must be really new if they have
-
Thanks for clarifying, i wasn't intending to work on arrival, so was not entirely sure about the work thing.
Either way your fiancee is allowed an SS card...if they're planning on working or not
-
Went with fiancee to Social Security Office to get a number and was told we first need a work authoriation form to get SS card. I was told that we need to file an I-766 form or I-688 or we could get a Fed ID number at the IRS and then apply for SS card. VJ does not list an I-766 or I-688 what the...Has anyone else had this problem. It could delay bank account and drivers lic. waiting on the process time. I would apreciate any info. moboatman @msn.com
If your fiancee came in on a K1 visa, she is already authorised to work so does not need EAD, read the VJ guides surrounding applying for SS number, there is a form to download to take with you that explains to the SS office that a K1 CAN have a SS number, i'd go back with all the documentation and try again, i had no problems getting a SS number when i entered the US.
Good luck
Selina.

You're fiance was here on the VWP and you decided to marry?????
Don't quote me on this but i do believe he has to return to his home country and you need to file for K3 (if i have your situation correct) as far as i know you can't marry a foreign citizen while they're here just visiting and allow them to stay!
