  1. The individual that is being referenced is me, and yes we both submitted letters of intent. So instead of making assumptions, which seems to be the norm in this forum, maybe do a bit of probing so your comments or suggestions can help or edify. As I stated previously the RFE specifically asked for proof of an engagement ceremony as it is customary in Ethiopia. And do you mean misconstrued as a marriage ceremony? But regardless, I’ll provide what is asked. Even though the Consular makes the final decision, USCIS is the gatekeeper.
  2. Thanks for the positively. Yes! When I read the RFE I was actually relieved because we had exactly what they were asking for. No outsourcing needed. But from what I’m witnessing on this journey that every application is different, and you just have to trust in The Most High and do your best. If it’s legit it will stand and work out for the good. I sent you my info. Praying for you and your fiancé to get good news soon
  3. I know and understand this but USCIS is the one requesting the information. But what would be helpful is an answer to my initial question. I can do without all of your negativity and doubt and I don’t need the luck
  4. I will because they actually requested it. In the RFE they stated that in Ethiopia it’s customary to have an engagement ceremony. When I initially filed we didn’t have anything other than pics, messages and intents. We met while I was on vacation in Ethiopia. But I went back to visit him in September and that’s when he proposed and we had the engagement ceremony. So since they requested, and knew of Ethiopias engagement ceremony I don’t see why it would be a problem. It would seem more logical that it would help more than hurt, considering they asked for it in the RFE.
  5. It clearly states it’s a letter of betrothal/ engagement
  6. Yes they did. I’m not concerned about “too married” looks like we weren’t actually “engaged” long enough according to them. 😂 But hopefully this 7 months of waiting for the RFE will suffice for the time
  7. Im actually very grateful that they didn’t flat out deny it and asked for further evidence. We have much more solid evidence now. When I went back his entire family, including parents came to the engagement ceremony. We have an official engagement document with witness signatures and our signatures as well. If you don’t mind I would like to share my contact info with you. I’ll send you a private message and when you have availability maybe we can chat.
  8. Thank you so much. This is very helpful information. I pray you get good news soon. We pretty much got an RFE because they said we seemed to be rushing. And when I looked back over it I agree lol. So they basically want more evidence our relationship is legit and we’re still together. I went to Ethiopia on vacation in February and we met while I was there. By May we submitted our K1. But next month it will be a year. I went back in September and we had an engagement ceremony with his family and friends in attendance. So I have a lot more bonifide information to present with the RFE. Thanks again. And I’ll keep you posted and please do the same
  9. Hello everyone, I received my letter for the RFE that I need to submit. It’s pretty straight forward except for one thing. They’re asking fur “Evidence of Financial Support”. It doesn’t say to complete the I-134 form, so are they asking me to show I’ve supported him financially? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. 10. Looks like they simply want you to print page 12 and complete the information that is asked. If it doesn’t apply to you then you should respond with NA. Then you are to sign and date page 12. The only items you need to return are the cover sheet, the missing information sheet, and page 12. Looks like There are also questions you need to answer on the cover sheet. I haven’t received this particular RFE, but I’m waiting for one. So this is just my interpretation of what I’m reading and not from experience. I hope this helps.
  11. Congratulations! That’s some great news to start the New Year with
  12. Thank you very much for the advice and encouraging words. I really need to hear this. I will be sure to keep everyone posted as we continue this journey. Blessings to you
  13. And it’s actually a Request For Initial Evidence. From my understanding it’s a different request then an RFE Request for evidence
  14. I got the same unfortunate news of RFE today. Just wondering if you’ve received your letter yet. Thanks
