I am divorced myself, and my first wedding was one of the "package" deals that some people here have mentioned. If you're not against a destination wedding, there are some great choices out there for all in one things that don't involve Vegas or a courthouse. I spent ages pouring over destination and package weddings, and I highly recommend http://enchantingelopements.com (out of Napa, California). Pretty much everything is included & handled by Reverend Ellsworth, who was willing to do a non-religious ceremony for us. Everything was perfect... (except the man I married
). Gorgeous grounds on an old winery with flowers everywhere, outstanding photography, hilarious minister, scrumptious cake... and after the fallout and seeing the prices of what was supposed to be my "traditional" wedding, I can definitely say this is an amazing bargain.
Well, anyways I hope maybe this helps one of you out there! If you do, I'd love to see pictures!

My fiancé will be adjusting status from F1 later this year after our wedding. So far, I only saw one poster with info about when they started school/met/got married. Also, I'd love to hear about this and how/if it affected your interview.
I'm new to the boards and after a week just now found this thread. Thank you for starting it!

My dear fiancé left out that I don't speak German :
, but more importantly that he started the whole student application thing prior to our engagement. I'm not sure that would make any difference at the interview in our favor... ?
Also, we're still waiting on the documents before we can set up the interview... can anyone give us an idea of how long it may take to get an interview when he's ready? We already know the processing times link for once the interview is completed.
Thanks so much!

I've already been quietly browsing the site for information and such, and I figured now is as good of a time as any to say my hellos.
So, my German fiancé and my timeline looks roughly like this:
Summer 2006: Became friends on an online game
Summer 2007: Became best friends
Octoberish 07: realized it was more than friends
January 08: he applies to finish his BA in my city
Feb/Mar 08: his first trip here
May 08: my first trip there / we got engaged
So currently we are trying to complete his student visa process. I am personally terrified about how long that process will take and we're planning on marrying before the year end. And there's my other fear - going through the adjustment of status from a student visa to permanent resident. I'm really curious to hear if others here have undergone that and what to expect.
Danke
