  1. Hello! Would be perfect to hear the experience from people who were at the Swedish U.S. embassy! When you finished DS-160, did they immediately offered you to schedule the visa interview? Like did they send you a link in email or? Or did you need to go through a specific webpage to book? Or you just finished DS-160 and waited until embassy mails or emails you with the instructions? I just have heard that people can immediately book an interview after paying for the DS-160, so I wouldn’t want to waste my time just waiting until the embassy contacts me if I know there is a way to book for the interview faster! 😅 I don’t know - I’m confused!
  2. Hello! My mother-in-law and I are trying to go through the I-134 questions. We are a little bit confused and wanted to know what did you guys wrote/did. Do we understand right that the sponsor is the petitioner and the joint sponsor is my mother-in-law? So as I understand, they both will need to fill I-134. So at the question 18 - does my fiancé need to check “no”? As he doesn’t have enough of income. And on my mother-in-law’s form, it would be “yes”? When do I mention that I have a joint sponsor? When I will fill the DS-160? Or at the visa interview? ————————————————— At the question 12 - Beneficiary’s Anticipated Period of stay in The U.S. Do we just write the approximate date that we think I’ll be there with my visa? Even if I wouldn’t be there from that date (we aren’t psychics, haha), it wouldn’t be a big of a deal right? It’s just weird they are asking for a specific date. I hope it would be okay if the months maybe would be the same. And of course we would check “no end date” ————————————————- About question 17. My mother-in-law is wondering, where she can get a proof, like a document that she doesn’t have any mortgages or anything? What did you mention on the question 17? Does she need to mention car, houses, accounts? If you have any tips or experience about joint sponsors, I would really appreciate! Maybe there are little things that we don’t know. Thank You in advance!
  3. When they emailed you about you being able to book an interview, did you already fill the DS-160? I’m a bit confused because I heard before that when your case is ready, then you can fill out the DS-160 and then book the interview.
  4. Thanks for the info! What do you mean by I’m in the last group?
  5. You mean finding an interview slot? what was the earliest you could book your interview? And how did you do it? As I understand it’s after paying for the DS-160
  6. Thank you all for the answers! I would really appreciate if someone could also answer about this one I checked this 👇 but it doesn't mention DS-160 and it says that the Embassy issues Beneficiary with Interview date, but what I understand from everyone that when they have paid for DS-160 they immediately can book their interview date by themselves.
  7. Hey hey! I wanted to know if this info is still up to date. When my K1 case is approved and I receive the NOA2, I need to wait until it shows ''Case Ready''. After that I can complete the DS-160 and pay the $265 fee, right? I just know the DS-160 will expire 30 days if not finished, but if I finish it then it's okay, right? Or USCIS delays might affect the situation? Also, question for those who have completed their DS-160, did the webpage after finishing it asked you to pay the fee and then after paying you were able to choose the interview date? Or did you need to visit completely different page to pay the fee and book the interview? Ahhh, and another question - for the DS-160 - should I be picking that K1 is a non-immigrant visa or immigrant visa? Because I remember someone saying that there is a little detail when filling the DS-160. It was the same when You're at the U.S. embassy that you need to pick immigrant visa or the opposite.. I don't remember.. I checked this 👇 but it doesn't mention DS-160 and it says that the Embassy issues Beneficiary with Interview date, but what I understand from everyone that when they have paid for DS-160 they immediately can book their interview date by themselves.
  8. Hello! I'm overthinking a bit and I want to be as prepared as possible for the interview (I haven't received NOA2 yet, but I like to gather the info so I'm prepared) I was wondering if I ever needed to mention in our 129f case that we'll have a joint sponsor? I understood that joint sponsor need to be mentioned on the next steps - at the interview. I want to know if this is correct and if I'm missing something: I'll need to bring I-134 from both - the petitioner and the joint sponsor, signed with wet, black ink signatures. It can be scanned, right? Like, they would sign their own I-134 and then scan it and send it to me and I print them out. 1. Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions with deposits, identifying the following details regarding the account: A. Date account opened; B. Total amount deposited for the past year; and C. Present balance. 2. Statement(s) from your employer on business stationery showing: A. Date and nature of employment; B. Salary paid; and C. Whether the position is temporary or permanent. 3. Copy of last U.S. federal income tax return filed (tax transcript). If you did not file a Federal tax return, or if your Federal tax return does not properly reflect your current income, submit copies of consecutive pay statements (stubs) for a minimum of the past month, recent Form W-2, or Form SSA-1099. 4. List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s). Do I understand right that the petitioner and the joint sponsor also need to add W2's from the past three years, and pay slips from the jobs that they have worked at in these past 3 years, and 1040's from the past three years, and IRS tax transcripts from the past three years? Thank you in advance!
  9. Perfect! Thank You a lot for the info! At least I won't need to spend extra money for translation and notarization
  10. To be honest I have no idea.. I just read somewhere that some states require a Certificate of No Marriage when you're getting married and you're from a country outside the U.S.
  11. About this ⬇️ - I thought I needed to apply for the interview by myself once I finished DS-160 and paid for it U.S. Embassy issues Beneficiary with Interview date U.S. Embassy issues Beneficiary with Interview date
  12. Now I have another new question! From everyone's experience - did you need to prove that you're not married? I think I read somewhere that I would need a document from my country, translated and notarized, proving that I'm not married. I guess it's better to get it to be extra safe
  13. This is perfect! I'll print it out. Thank You! ☀️
  14. Thank You so much! About 2. - When I get the SSN, is it easy to update it with my new last name?
  15. Hello! I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong topic. I have several questions regarding K1 visa. I have a lot of questions Please, be nice, that's what I've decided, so these are the questions for those who have done that and are okay with it. 1. Question to those who have changed the last name after getting married. As I understand, after getting married, we'll receive a marriage certificate. Where should I go to legally change my last name after marriage? I know that I would need to take the certificate with me, of course. Do I also need to go to my country's embassy in the US to change my passport (my full new name) too? And when I apply for Adjustment of Status, am I going to be able to apply with my new last name? 2. I heard somewhere, that when you arrive to the US with the K1 visa you can immediately apply for Social Security number. Is that true? In that case, I should be using my current full name, right? Although, for some reason, I think I read somewhere that I could write my soon-to-be husband's last name as mine. If you have any other extra info I would really appreciate it!
  16. I understood that for K1 the beneficiary is the one that schedules the interview
  17. Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you! I know it must feel like a big relief for you! Can't wait to get the same feeling! Did you get your passport back by mail?
  18. If you talk about VJ timeline estimate, I'm sure it's for NOA2
  19. Update us when you receive NOA2!
  20. Hey hey! Wow, this is super helpful! Thank you so much! ☀️
  21. Hello, Everyone! I was wondering which estimated time webpage was more accurate for you - VJ or the other tracking webpage (that is the other most popular one)? Thank You in advance!
  22. What exactly is an inquiry? Do you get more information about your file from there, or something else?
  23. What is the estimated time for you on the site that you use to track you case? I know which site you are using, I'm using it too, and for me it show's that I might get my NOA2 on June or July 2026.. I really wish that VJ estimated time is going to be the real one 🙏
