  1. Oof. Looks like I'll be looking for a joint sponsor then. 😅 Thank you @pushbrk and thanks the rest of you, too.
  2. I did a lot of tax write offs in business expenses for all three years. I'm self-employed.
  3. Curious. Have any of you been Documentarily Qualified for spouses even when... Your total income (according to the 1040) for all three years is only barely half of the i864 Poverty Guideline. You have no joint sponsors. Your annual income is around $10,000 above the Poverty Guideline (ie. $35000), and you have sufficient proof of this? Your assets are insufficient.
  4. Thanks everyone! Would it be safer to include income information for 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024? Or would just 2022-2204 suffice? I have tax transcripts from 2021-2023, not 2022-2024.
  5. Hi! For i864, as the sponsor, do I print out all 12 pages just to sign page 10? Or, would I only have to print out page 10 to sign the form, and then after, scan page 10, and digitally (via Adobe) insert page 10 back into the entire i864 form?
  6. Hi, because my wife and I applied for an ITIN to file taxes jointly, and the ITIN processing will take awhile and so I cannot obtain my 2024 Tax Transcript... What should I do? Should I upload 2021, 2022, 2023 Transcripts instead? And should I write a brief letter to NVC as to why they won't be able to obtain my 2024 Tax Transcript? And for i864, Part 6, 16a-16c, should I exclude 2024 but include 2021 total income? If this is the case, then will NVC look for more proof of income for 2021? Since I won't have any paychecks available from 2021. For the 2024 Tax Return, I've already uploaded the 2024 1040, Schedule C, 1, 2, SE, every monthly paycheck and bank statements for all of 2024, and all the 1099s to the NVC webpage.
  7. Thanks! Not the Philippines birth certificate. The Philippines Marriage Certificate includes a section about my birthplace. The birthplace that was written on the PH Marriage Certificate is wrong because the written birthplace is different from the birthplace mentioned in my US birth certificate, from where I was born. (ie. San Diego as opposed to San Francisco). So the concern is, will NVC tell us to to redo our Philippines marriage certificate? Or, should that not concern us?
  8. Hi! If we lost our vaccination documentations for the NVC stage, will we have to get all of our vaccination for America again? Also, my (the petitioner's) Philippines Marriage Certificate mistakenly has my birth place inconsistent with my US birth certificate. Does that mean we have to redo our Philippines birth certificate for the NVC stage? Thank you for answering.
  9. Hi! Husband filing CR1 for a spouse. Few questions about social media as it relates to DS-260. 1) Is she required to list her social media usernames? 2) What if my wife deactivated one or more Facebook accounts in the last few years? Is she still required to list that on the DS-260? 3) For all of her deactivated Facebook accounts, is she required to reactivate them all for NVC purposes? At least one of her deactivated accounts involves a major past trauma. 4) What if it's a deleted YouTube account that was she frequently used (ie. with uploaded videos)? Is she required to list that one as well?
  10. Hi! Context: I filed for extension two days before the tax deadline of April 15, 2025. I was able to file my taxes with a CPA after the deadline, but since we're filing jointly and my wife is applying for an ITIN, and the ITIN won't be fully processed until many weeks from now.... Question: Should I still report that I filed for extension to the NVC?
  11. Hi! If my "Current Annual Household Income" is above HHS Poverty Guidelines ($40000) but my total income is less than half the HHS Poverty Guideline for all three recent years, should I be concerned? Or should I find a joint sponsor?
  12. Hi! Two questions: 1) What would my wife type in the DS260 if she applied for a new passport with my (her husband's) last name? Would she type her name from her old passport or the new one? Especially since she used information from her old passport during the i-130 stage. 2) The DS260 application is asking my wife if she applied for a Social Security Number. Does an ITIN count as a Social Security Number? We're currently applying for an ITIN for tax purposes right now.
  13. Thanks for the quick responses and input from both of you! We've filed over a year ago. My spouse is from the Philippines. We've been working hard together to upload over 60 files online now. Within many of the files are dozens of proof like travel documents, many pictures together and with others, many more chat logs and snapshots to video chats from the beginning until now. She's changed her last name to mine on most of her professional IDs and we've uploaded that as well. I'm in the process of filing married jointly for tax return. We've even asked her landlord to write an affidavit for us lol. Hopefully all of that will suffice.
  14. Hi! As the title states, will USCIS take more months to process our I130 if we married too quickly? My wife and I met November 2023 and got married February 2024. Do any of you have personal experiences?
  15. Hi! For the i-130, if my spouse (beneficiary) has a new job, is she required to report it to USCIS? Will it matter? The original i130 applications says she was unemployed.
  16. Hi! How do you obtain Thai Police Clearance in the Philippines these days? I found the following instructions on a thread dating back to 2012; are the following instructions still the same?
  17. Hi everyone. Has anyone here obtained a police clearance from Thailand while in the Philippines/outside of Thailand? How would we go about doing that? Thank you for answering.
  18. Thank you so much, once gain, for all your help!
  19. Thanks again for all the info y'all! Very helpful. Actually. I assumed a TIN in the Philippines is no different than an ITIN. Would any one know if they are the exact equivalent?
  20. Thank you so much for all your prompt and clear answers! Appreciate it! 🤩 Regarding #4. My wife has an ITIN already. Would that make a difference? By having an ITIN, would I still have to paper file and would she still have to physically sign anything and do everything else you mentioned in #4?
  21. Hi! US Citizen here. This is my first time filing taxes as married jointly, but my wife is still in the Philippines; she has yet to immigrate over. Is it true that filing jointly would be a major green flag for CR1 couples when USCIS reviews our case? Would their be any "down sides" to filing jointly even when my wife is a nonresident alien? For example, would it take longer for the IRS to view our taxes if filing jointly? Would my monthly monetary gifts to her be counted as her income? Would I need to wait for my wife to file her taxes in the Philippines before I file mine? Any tips when filing jointly with a nonresident alien? Thanks in advance. 😁
