  1. My fiance did not mention about a yellow slip. All the wasted time trying to obtain a new appointment could be related to the barcodes with instructions and rescheduling. This could be the reason I am experiencing the problem i'm having and now discovered after closing the application and making a new one, the case number is showing invalid. Did you use the barcode to reschedule? I've instructed her to do so. In the meantime I made another case questioning the invalid case number. I'll keep you posted.
  2. No. I just can’t make an appointment. The “Make an Appointment” is not showing in the portal menu. I spoke to the service desk and they said they escalated my issue and just wait until I get an email that I can schedule. They are waiting for NVC USA to reset the portal. I hope it will happen this week. They said it would take several days. Today Tuesday and I’ve been waiting since Wednesday. Are you a Ki applicant?
  3. Do to the status. What is happening to your status? Seems to be the issue.
  4. Another snag in my process to get my fiance. For those applying on a K1 visa you might run into this problem trying to reschedule another appointment. The portal will not allow you to reschedule until the system resets. I been waiting over a week and sent massages and spoke to the service center. They said my case will be investigated ( i suppose a better choice of word would be checked) and escalated, I don't know again. Over a week is not escalated enough for me since her medical exam results will expire July 20th. Yes this is because of the problem of appointment making that is so hard to get. That biometric appointment was so hard to get then having to face the availability of getting the appointment for interview which had to be done together. Now with biometrics completed, her final step to having her in my arms was the interview. They sent her home because of one document that slipped in the crack. We both never heard of it. They need an Advisory on Marriage. She's a widow and we have the death certificate. Further, why is this a concern when it should have been questioned in the initial filing of her I-129F? She been given the approval! It is another bureaucratic mess adding to the inconsistency of processing applications. The other issue is medical record expiration when immigrants have no medical expiration dates. I'm not even going to touch on this matter. If you are a K1 applicant, try to understand it. If you experience with the portal not available to reschedule let me know how long it took to make an appointment for an interview.
  5. One month and eight days no slot yet. I have been checking every 1 to two hours and also near 10am and midnight Manila time as suggested by some applicants. No slot continues to appear. As pertaining to the slots opening after medical screening was completed, it was just a coincidence as commented already. St. Luke's scheduling is not connected to the VAC. They run their own system. My fiancé's medical was completed Feb 13, 2025. There were slots opened around that time. My concern is I hope she will get an interview appointment before the medical expires. It expires in 4 months. If it does we will have to obtain a new medical and pay again. If anyone here has had to redo their medical please share your experience. Will there be another payment for the exam? I am not clear about this. They made her sign a waiver concerning the medical expiring before the interview. As I think of this, why are we burdened to accept the failure of a visa processing system that is clearly not working efficiently? Why should we absorb the problem created by them? Yes we could have cancelled the medical appointment knowing now that it has an expiration date. However, the next appointment might not be available soon. They seem to be filling quite fast. I thought getting the interview was going to be a short wait as it seemed at the time. Little did I know. This information on the medical expiring should have been provided beforehand. It wasn’t. On February 11, I was able to get a biometric appointment only to discover there was no appointment. My fiancé traveled from Lubao, Pampanga to make the 8:30 a.m. appointment. She showed a screenshot of the appointment saying under status “Scheduled”. The system did not have the schedule. How did this no appointment happen? A conflicting information was provided to me from a call to the Visa Service Center when I was inquiring how to make an appointment for the interview. I was told by the person who answered that interviews were made at the VSC following the completion of the biometrics. What I should have been told is that both biometrics and interview must be made together on the appointment portal otherwise, the system will cancel out the biometric appointment in 20 minutes. Also, was this ever mentioned in the system when I was scheduling ? No! Nor was I directed to another calendar to make the interview appointment. These errors has caused unnecessary inconvenience and wasted out time and money when it could have been avoided. The NVC welcome letter we received was the beginning of the problem that we are facing. It should have been accurate with information. It was a formed letter that was out of date as per the instructions it provided. . The letter stated that NVC will soon be sending the I-129F approval and documents to Manila. Once the embassy is ready for processing , they will contact my fiancé. In the meantime it suggested we look over the K1 visa application to be ready to process. Part of the letter was right except the part about the embassy contacting her. This must have been the process before September of 2024 before the creation of this current appointment system. The letter should should have provided a clear SOP (standard operating procedure) outlining the scheduling process. I also learned that information on the web and on their websites can also be misleading and can’t be relied as accurate information. Even personals on staff at the service center are not accurate with the information needed. They lack the communication skills to assist applicants with simple questions. Eighteen cases I filed as inquiries through the portal were never answered directly. The answers were not even related to the question. It was clear to me I was wasting my time and it was prolonging the process. At the end of each case, they included a survey of how well they did, I smiled grimly. Do I believe it will be read with results? It seems like its a dead end bureaucratic mess that is left to us to endure. Nothing has changed since the beginning of my application. It’s like waiting for the approval of my I-129F. I filed January 23, 2023 approved August 24, 2024. There was a hiccup along the way with an RFE (request for evidence. That was alarming. The approval was one of the happiest day of my life. I felt relieved that there was hope. A tennis friend of mine who works for homeland security pointed out to me that it would take two years. I was in denial then and it’s proven it was longer than what I hoped to be at least a year. I am at the very end of the rainbow praying each night that this nightmare and stress of waiting will be a thing of the pass. I pray for those who are just at the beginning of this journey and to those who have not started. Also, I didn’t realize during this process that I would have a committee of friends affected with anticipation asking me details when she will be arriving. Friends who I’ve shared my experience, and frustration. They are all eager to meet her and anxious to plan our wedding. I have these people to help me cope each day. We will overcome. I pray for all that yours will come soon.
  6. I don't know how you were able to obtain an interview appointment in Manila without completing the biometric. It is clearly instructed that medical and biometric must be done before making an interview appointment. Interview appointments are made at the VAC center following the biometric completion. In my case I'm also facing the "No Slot" scenario. I call it playing the slot machine. I made an appointment online through their portal. My fiance showed up for the appointment only to be turned down without a confirmation letter of appointment. This is the part I missed somehow. There was no letter sent via email nor postal. I did not see a message on the portal after completing the schedule that a letter of confirmation will be sent. How will I know the appointment was scheduled? After sending a message to the service center about the missing letter, they responded that there was no appointment pending and to reschedule. It's clear to me that they did not bother to check further nor provided me instructions to prevent this from happening again. I even attached the screenshot image showing the appointment. If anyone who successfully made an appointment please share how you completed the scheduling. This new system only develops stress for applicants. Be warned if you are a new user. Be ready to play the Slot Machine and multi step login process. The captcha does not work on the first attempt. Be careful to select a simple answer to security questions. This could save you headaches. Also another issue is browser compatibility. Safari is not supported. I'm using Google Chrome. Now they are saying Windows 11 is out and that Edge is to be used. In my opinion, whoever created this new visa application system should be fired for not overseeing the issue that many applicants are facing. This system is unfair to all waiting to apply by allowing others to cut in line. After all, nothing is new. My process from 1-129F to this point has been under a system of waiting not under a system of first come first serve basis. This is what they say clearly but is not actually the case. It is case specific. So many are processed ahead of yours. These are applicants who applied after you did. So far, my journey has taken 2 years and 2 months. It's been a painstaking journey. At this point I can only expect more issues along the way to the end until she's in my arms. I am so thankful in my prayers that my fiance and I are still together. If someone reading this post has an influence to change this entire system, you have my support. This terrible service to citizens of the United States is disrespectful and can not be tolerated. The biggest problem with this system is its lack of transparency.
