  1. Ohh thank you so much!! I was worried and made my husband worried too keep asking if the interview went very smoothly and well, why didn't we get the approval:// If this is normal, we can relax now and wait the updates 🙏
  2. Hello We had our interview today. The officer asked 2 questions about our relationship/marriage ( how we met and how our wedding was) and then continued with "yes or no" questions on the I-485 Form. He said he will do background check and then approve our case.He gave us a white paper saying like "your case is under review" .Is this a common practice? I am asking because we did not get approval on spot :/
  3. Thank you so much! 🥰 For now, I am excited and a bit nervous too! I hope I will share good news very soon
  4. Thank you very much! I'll update you after the interview. ☺️
  5. Oopps Thanks, I appreciate the reminder! So, we should bring both of them( the one we already submitted when initial filling and the one with the salary increase)?
  6. Thanks We already printed them to bring to the interview. We've decided not to fill out a new I-864 form. At the interview, if ever asked about it, we can explain showing the updated pay stubs and the letter.
  7. Thank you very much for your answer. We will do what you advised.
  8. Hey everyone! Just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation: We submitted the I-864 form a couple of months ago, and at the time, my husband's salary was already well above the poverty guidelines. However, his salary increased about two months ago. I have my green card interview next Friday. Do we need to update the I-864 to reflect the new salary, or is it fine to leave it as-is since it was already more than enough at the time of filing? Any advice or experiences would be appreciated — thanks in advance! 😊
  9. Hello there Regarding the SSN — we initially planned to get it along with the EAD, so we didn’t apply for it right after my arrival. However, after we got married, we changed our minds and decided to get my SSN earlier. From what I understand, as long as you haven’t filed your AOS yet, you’re still allowed to apply for a Social Security Number - as long as your I-94 is still valid and hasn’t expired. I first submitted my application online and then scheduled an appointment. On the day of the appointment, I brought my passport, our marriage certificate, and my most recent I-94. I received my SSN card just 4 days later!
  10. Thank you so much! I decided to use a translation service finally. I was told that the standard is to change the dates to the US date format, as most of translations are routed to USCIS by the translation support team. It gave me peace of my mind :D
  11. Thank you so much for your answer! I think at this stage it is better to use a translation stage to avoid any issues.
  12. Hi everyone, I’m preparing my Adjustment of Status (AOS) package after entering the U.S. on a K-1 visa, and I have a question about translating my birth certificate. I know USCIS requires certified translations, but I’m wondering: Can my friend translate the document for me? She’s fluent in both Turkish and English and lives in the UK. She’s not a professional translator. Is this acceptable for USCIS as long as she includes the proper certification statement? My original birth date is written in European format (DD/MM/YYYY), but I filled out my AOS forms using the U.S. format (MM/DD/YYYY). Should my friend write the date in the English translation as “2 March 1993” to avoid confusion? If anyone has experience with this, I’d really appreciate your advice. I just want to be safe and avoid an RFE🙏 Thanks in advance!
