  1. Why living apart? Wouldn't it be possible to get a re-entry permit to cover the residency requirements?
  2. Thanks for your response! Do you know for a fact that the background checks will be initiated before she submits her Canadian passport? My concern is the risk of an outright rejection, which is why I’ve been considering whether it makes sense to delay her interview. Have you seen similar cases in the past?
  3. My wife and I are both citizens of Iran. I am already a Canadian citizen too, and my wife is expected to naturalize as a Canadian citizen in approximately two years. We expect to get our consular interviews in Montreal soon, but considering all the recent bans, would it be more advisable to proceed now and notify the officer that we will submit my wife’s Canadian passport once she receives it (in 1-2 years), or should we delay the interviews until her citizenship is finalized? If we choose to wait, what is the maximum allowable period to delay an interview at the Montreal consulate? Furthermore, as I am the Principal Applicant and my wife is a derivative beneficiary, is it possible for me to complete the consular process and receive my immigrant visa now, while she waits to finalize hers later? Or is it legally or procedurally required for both of us to do our interviews and receive our visas concurrently?

  5. Hi everyone, I'm an Iranian-Canadian dual citizen, and my EB2 NIW petition has been approved, but my priority date is not yet current. I’m trying to plan ahead and have a few questions, particularly for my Persian/Iranian friends: For Iranian nationals, how likely is it to be placed under Administrative Processing? Is it almost guaranteed, or are there cases where it doesn’t happen? Would holding dual Canadian citizenship have any impact on this? Additionally, how do you think the likelihood of AP might change depending on the embassy location (e.g., Ankara, Dubai, or Yerevan)? Finally, for Iranians who have undergone DS-5535, what is the average time to receive clearance? I’d really appreciate any insights. Thanks for your help!
