Yes it can be switched but we’re filing in 2 months and the bills have been paid from my account the entire marriage. We just decided to pay the mortgage together after she got a job since that was the biggest cost. The gas/electric bill does show both names since the beginning of the marriage YES. We have two tax returns filed jointly as well, car insurance since she was approved and moved to US, health insurance through my employer since we’ve been married, she is also the beneficiary on my life insurance and retirement accounts.
The only thing her name does not appear on is the actual mortgage bill because I bought the house before she was approved to move here and the only way to add her to that is to refinance which cannot happen right now. Also, why she is not on the deed because she was not physically here when the house was bought. The real estate attorney did inform me that in NJ the spouse has half ownership, regardless of her name being on it or not. Same thing with our car we bought a car last year with my name because she did not have an established credit in the US so we used my credit
