my cousin's wife had her 2nd interview on 3/15 but she was gaven 221g, which i have attached here, was told she needs to send in new 864/864a for the co-sponsor at vfs office along with her passport. Does this mean she will get the visa once she sends the 864/864a in ?

Today its 183rd day, I filed my I-130 in Jan and the NOA1 date is 18th Jan 2012. I dont understand why many of feb and march filers have got approved but there are handful of Jan filers left out. I thought they go according to who filed it first. I also had put a service request and got a reply that they are still reviewing my file and will update within next 60 days. Vermont service center is working really slow.

Does the wife make enough on her own to satisfy the requirement? If so, keep your 864A out of it.

Her income is what she is making now, annualized. Simple to compute and verify with the employer letter and recent paystubs. (ex: $100/wk X 52 weeks = $5200)

Your income comes off the 2011 form 1040, line 22. If you filed a joint return it's a bit more math to back out her income.

last year she made abt 16k we filed together with both of my parents as dependents this year she would make abt the same...

n i really would hate to have her work place give a employment verification cuz her HR takes forever ..(had the experience b4) sorry will i be ok without the job letter?

also do i need to send any proof with aos packet abt us being married n living at the same address?

hey guys my wife applied for her mother back in jan, now the case is @ nvc. its been a while since i did the aos process and wanted to make sure things havent changed so here are my questions:(btw my wife filled the 864 and i did the 864a)

1)do i need to send in job letters for her(she works @ doc's office) and myself (i m selfemployed) can't i just send in my letter if i m required?

2) we have a huge gaps between on how much we make 2011-$78K 2010-$51K 2009 -$38k is this ok?

3) what else do i need 2 send so far i got the following -

forms 864 & 864a all filed n signed

2011 copy personal of tax returns WITH w2's + my corporate tax returns

2010 IRS transcripts(personal) + my corporate tax returns

2009 IRS transcripts(personal) + my corporate tax returns

when u mail in ur oci app. just attach the renunciation form along with ur original indian passport (also send in the copy of the indian passport front 3 - 5 pages n back 3 pages,) all this can be sent in 1 envelope to travisa

Hi all, am posting here on behalf of my husband who became a USC recently. We are in the process of applying for an OCI card but are finding the process as listed on travisa website a little confusing. We have a couple of questions: 1) Should we surrender his Indian PP to the Indian consulate before sending in the OCI application and enclose proof of that? 2) Should the renunciation application be submitted along with the OCI application? Do both processes work concurrently? 3) How long does it take to get the OCI card?

Can someone take us through the steps of renouncing the Indian PP and obtaining the OCI card? Your help is appreciated in advance,thanks!

1) u can send in the renunciation form and OCI for together (that is the best way to get OCI and cancel indian passport

if u look at the intrustctions for OCI on travisa's website look under (#10 Proof of Renunciation of Indian Citizenship) follow those steps I send in my OCI app around jan 30th and got everything back from travisa april 7th so its abt 2-to 2 1/2 mnt process

I just turned a USC this month now i was filling out i-130 for my mom but my question is can i also add my little brother's name on the 130? he is currently 17 years old we have no other family overseas, my dad passsedway in '07 so right now its only my mom n brother living in the house overseas, and if my mom comes to the u.s based on my file there is no one to take care of my brother. please let me know what i can do thanks

I am totally freaking out. NVC Lady said they'll put DS-230 on hold until IV fee bill issue is resolved. they gave me 2-3 weeks to resolve this.

I'm really worried now. what should I do ?

dont worry i was freaking out 2 @ that time, NVC will resolve this issue in a day or 2 ..good luck..and ya DONT PAY AGAIN i was thinking about that too so i can speed things up but u might be better of waiting like i did.

thanks guys for the quick reply.... went into SS office today and dude gave us a paper that basically says they got our request for SSN and they will verify the info from INS and issue a SSN. is this the way it should be? i went in before for someone else @ the same office n that time i got the letter which says we will receive the SSN # with 7-14 days.

My wife's interview is on 19th November which is wednesday @ Mumbai Consulate.

What's the safe bet to buy tickets for ... i.e. how much buffer zone should I give after interview..1 week or more?

Can people share their experience of interview @ Mumbai how long before you get your visa..same day 3,4 business days. They charge your courier fees..so do they mail you the passport back.. if yes, how long do they take?

I'm unsure on which date to buy tickets for...but at same time I want her here early enough so that I get her SSN in mail so can apply in 2008 Tax returns haha.

hi all i am planning on taking my wife to the SS office tomorrow for her SSN. what documents do i need to take inorder for her to get the #? all she has right now is her visa stamped passport.

Cant believe i m done with visa journey for the next 2 years.....all this happened so fast now i m thinking if i m even ready for my wife..lol i got about 30 hours to kill now, each minute seems like an hour...i just wanted to THANK EVERYONE for all the help. no you do not need one from delhi, my wife still has not received her copy of the letter from NVC her interview was on 1st oct. i just scan/emailed her my copy and worked fine too..

we did not get our original documents back which i sent to NVC.

i guess my wife just got excited and didnt bother asking them for returns of the original. luckily we had 2 original of each document we sent to NVC, (expect the PCC, which i could careless about now) but do u guys think they will mail those documents to her in india or me in the U.S?

Couple of questions for you

1) What doc did you submit at VFS?

2) It seems like you submitted your medical at interview. Does the embassy give option to submit medical at VFS or interview? I have seen people do both.

3) Does NVC send a list of docs to be submitted at VFS and did you the petitioner also receive the interview letter?

thank you, vfs office just took her passport copy, copy of ds-230, 2 2x2 pics n appointment letter, they said make u get your medical done before interview date (which she did but didnt submit any medical reports to vfs). and no NVC did not send a list of what docs to send to vfs, on the appointment letter itself showed what documents NVC received so far..hope this helps

my wife ran into the same problem, of a'bad requiring missing doc list n appointment letter, i just looked at someone's missing doc list n typed one letter just like that with my case # on it n it worked fine..let me know if u need that letter i still have it in word format n works like a charm...good luck
