  1. Our $100 Chevy Venture is on its last legs (wheels?), and so we're looking to get a new car. We're thinking of something small, and have been intrigued by the Honda Fit, but we're still in the early stages of looking, and could use suggestions, whether it's cars you've driven and liked, or good resources beyond the usual U.S. News/Consumer reports-type listings.

Only preferences really are small, fuel-efficient, and economical. Thoughts?

Hubby got his new Honda Accord, he got a good review on this car and considered to have one. He needs to replace his vintage car, with feature " touch screen" ( you need to touch the windows in order to move up or down).lol..

my friend has a honda fit and she said that it is okey..

another thing, my neighbor recommended " craiglist.org " for second hand cars..

    goodluck!!!

  2. Congradulations and that was a really nice telling of the events at the Embassy. You should write a letter to the Embassy telling that story to them so they can put that letter in the file of the interviewer for doing such a good job. IM sure they woudl appreicate that.

nice idea, hmmm I just that this post of mine will give some ease and remove some worries to those who will still be having their interview.

My advice to all, just be who u are...wear your smile and greet the USEM personnels..They are good if you are good to them too.

I agree!! i had my interview last December 6, 2007, I greeted Merry Christmas the lady at the finger scanning and she told that "don't worry we are not bad here as what other people say". my pre-screener were and most of all I had a cool and John Travolta look a like Consul .

My Congratulations on your wonderful interview experience.

  3. Hello VJs!!!! I've got a problem on my police certificate, I still have it I don't know how and why I still have it. It is part of the requirement for the K1 Visa. I know I have to give it to USE. What will I do? Do I need to go hand carry it to USE? Or send it to LBC or FedEx? :bonk:

    Please help....

Nothing to worry, if they gave you a pink slip just wait for magic text from Delbros that your visa is on the way..

    goodluck!!!

  4. Are you all going to see it live on pay-per-view?

I may not because the $54.95 price tag is too high. And I need more money for Christmas gifts. I'd probably just watch for the streamers on the Internet.

Yeah, I agree with you. I want to watch it too. Do you know any website where the fight might be available?

If GMA-7 in the Phils, they can give and update thru their website http://www.gmanews.tv/index.html

I was able to watch the Pacman and Diaz on this site cause we didn't buy the pay-per -view and let my friend put the webcam on his TV in the Phils..we saved a $50 then..lol and might do the same thing again this Sat..

  5. hi fellow vj's!!! my fiance got the notice from the nvc and i'm still waitng for my packet 3.does anyone have the same case with me and have you tried to call the embassy to have your appointment for interview without waiting for the packet 3?

    how's it??please help!!!!!tnx in advance!!!

Where is your place?? My fiance now my husband got a letter from NVC dated Nov. 1, and visited me Nov. 19 in the Phils, what we did we went to embassy to check it and we were given a new set of packet eventhough they already sent my packet. what happened was my packet went to different address, I am from Southern TAgalog and my packet went to Iloilo. I got my visa already and my packet travelled to Iloilo arrived 3 days after..

You better call the embassy and ask for your packet..It should be in your address 2 weeks after the letter from your fiance.

Goodluck on your Medical and Interview..

  7. IM SO SAD COZ UNTIL NOW MY PAPER NOT YET APROVE.... :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

don't be sad, you are not the only one on that same situation,Do something to make yourself busy, find friends here, read more visa journey stories so you can get idea when you need to do something for your visa. I understand the situation but that's part of the deal..Have a good day!!!

  8. Hey everybody!

I have a couple of questions regarding my upcoming bio appt..!

-My appt is scheduled till december 9th, is there anyway i can do my biometrics before the scheduled appt... and If i could what is the benefit on doing them earlier.

-How can i check if my local office (chula vista, ca) does walk ins for biometrics

    any info would be helpful

    :):):)

one of the girls here from Hawaii did early bio..i guess the answer is yes, particularly if you have other important errands to do on your schedule bio..if you are near on that office better drive and bring all the necessary documents and just ask if they you can do it earlier..but try to call first if there is contact info...I think the benefit is they might submit to the proper office and might have an early approval or decision..

  9. my case was transfered to CSC today, i was wondering why they would transfer it so far from me, im in houston. does that mean i probaly wont have to go to a interview?? i figured it would go to the texas center or the office here in houston.

my case was transfer to CSC too, I didnt have interview and got no RFE either..so cross your fingers and might happen the same thing for you..goodluck. Happy thanksgiving..

    I am from Houston too..

  10. hey guys, im back..after a long hibernation.

    i miss you all guys!

i hope everyone is doing well..

Yo Gurl!!! How are you??? I was in LV last Nov. 13 but just to see my Aunt, they live near Summerlin and went back to California that night, didnt get a chance to go to the strip though :crying: , anyways might be there again this December, I will give you a buzz..so how's everything? Happy Thanksgiving!!!

  11. My friends and your loved ones,

What will be on the dinner table on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day? Will it be the traditional turkey, or will it be Filipino food, or will it be some other sumptuous delight?

My hubby will prepare a Turkey and I will prepare some pinoy food. I'll try Lechetin and Fruit salad for dessert eventhough my hubby got his pecan pie and chocolate cake...

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!!

  12. As I read some threads like the whereabouts of Filipino here in US and groups in a certain states. I was thinking it would be nice and easy for Filipino if they are closeby an make them as a contact, who knows someday we can set up a gathering and the fact that we feel good if we know a friend/s who live closeby.

I'm from Belmont, California 40 mins from San Francisco. Please feel free to add me as a friend here and we can PM for complete details like address or phone number.

I am from Texas but will be in Anaheim, Cali this Nov. 11-17, I am interested to meet anybody nearby and looking forward to start a new friendship. please feel free to pm and we can exchange contact details..thanks..

Yes, that's the thought why I'm starting this thread.... Are you going to Disneyland? that place is amazing I went their last July we stayed at Grand California Hotel.

I'll find time to see Mickey and the gang..lol.. My cousin and I will meet there and might proceed to Las Vegas to see our Aunt..

  14. I have read a few posts asking if they can work any job on an EAD and everyone keeps saying, yes, as long as you don't have to be a US citizen. I'm confused, what jobs do you need to be a US citizen to work besides the president and I guess government jobs?

EAD means you can work legally in US but a certain jobs..you're right government jobs particularly the post office requires Green card or should be a legal permanent residents.

  15. hmmm..

thank you yankee ha, hope we'd still keep in touch when i get there. i'll PM you my YM as soon as i leave for US next week.

and NOPE, i won't be wearing any stilletos..hahahaha..

at first sabi ko sa hubby ko, i'll just wear flip-flops, then he told me i'll freeze to death if i do..(nananakot..), so now i'm thinking twice on this. kaso i really don't wanna take off my shoes in every airport i walk into..hahaha..kidding..

well maybe flip-flops nalang..or maybe not..still undecided pa..

    bahala na..hahahaha...

Hi Gurl, I would love to hear from you when you get here, so you can join us in our chat conference every night, I have 3 bisdak friends who are nice and sweet, mga taga Houston kami but we will join you so you won't get bored when you get here, actually another bisdak join, she is from CDO..I am not bisdak but we and the three gurls are having fun..

3rd of November is not really that cold esp in LV but to be safe you can bring shoes and socks, maybe you can wear flip-flops from Phils then just put your shoes in your handcarry bag, that's what I did, cause you know in the airport they will ask you to take out even your socks..

  16. to yankee -

someone just posted here, i think its papabear that she was refused a visa and the consul handed her passport back since co-sponsorship is not allowed. i guess this has caused a lot of us to worry.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=159962

maybe they have tightened their financial requirements now with the current economic status of the US? all these are just assumptions but of course.. better na na ready di ba?

for other's who may have some information here in Manila, please do share

As I understand, case to case basis. sometimes there's a petitioner that has a good paying job bt still got a strict Consul..but you are right better prepare for it.. and they are really want to make sure that the petitioner has the capacity to support the beneficiary and there's a bonafide relationship..why not call the embassy?is it true that there's a new set of consul now?

  17. sa mga reviewers sila strict, so i guess iba ung book na dala mo noon or hindi pa sila strict dat time..better safe na lng, tama ung cousin mo na dto na lang at latest edition pa, i guess you just donate na lang yang books mo at dadami pa ang makikinabang at dahil sa kabaitan mo, you will pass the NCLEX for take 1, say mo???hala be a good samaritan, para meron ka extra gift kay Santa this Xmas..lol..

have you check the airlines about the plane they will use to LV, kasi if meron ka BBB , ikaw mismo carry to another gate sa Hawaii, but if suit case lng madali hilahin di ba..

grabe, few days to go at fly na beauty mo ..be safe and have a stress free day..

sana nga yankee!!! para US RN na kaagad ako next year (magdilang anghel ka sana!! :innocent: )..

about the bbb..AKO ANG MAGBUBUHAT?? OMG!!! talaga? meron naman sigurong cart for that..ang sagwa naman tingnan if i'd be dragging the bbb around the airport..hahahaha.. i wish i could just bring 1 luggage pero i don't wanna spend much for anything like clothes or shoes when i get there coz i have so much here na pwede ko pang gamitin diyan..that's the reason why i have a bbb full of my stuffs (clothes, shoes, sandals, flip-flops, etc.)...coz i know that for the first few months of "really" living there, i'd be converting everything i buy in dollars to peso..sayang naman..

Yep, be positive Gurl, kasama ka sa prayers ko..

about cart, meron for sure but from the CArousel you will be the one to get it , that's what I mean..so if you feel make hila your BBB sa carousel, go ahead, hehehhe..joke..wear something comfy ha, para di ka mahirapan, kasi baka super stilleto ka sa plane then mega hila ka ng BBB mo sa Carousel..lol..
