  1. Do the US Citizen need to fly to the local US Embassy to get any type of paperwork (to fulfill requirements) to marry in your country?
  2. I don't like the CR1 Visa personally, I always suggest doing a K1. But that also depends on your country and what kind of hoops you have to jump thru to do a K1 or a CR1 visa. Having to travel to get married is another barrier I don't want to deal with, and all the hoops you have to jump thru for that in some countries. I have found the K1 Visa moves much faster than a CR1 visa. My K1 took like one month to get approved and fiance was with me in USA after 3 months
  3. I am thinking his youth and being young and probably thinking he was bullet proof lead to him living in that area. He was also shot in the leg, I hope he doens't get like gang green or infection that lead to a fatality. I hope he survives but I think the odd are not in his favor.
  4. Does anyone have any updates or know the young man that was recently kidnapped in Mindanao Region? Reports are it was an inside job and not ABU Sayaff or other Muslim factions in the area. I heard they put him on a boat I hope he didn't end up in the Julu Solo area. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rVhgQPug9k
  5. Handful of quick question: What's you name? What's was your maiden name? Are you retired? Who is paying for trip? How long do you plan on staying? I would be surprised if there are many other questions for MIL. Please post they questions she was asked after her interiew
  6. Her age is her primary tie to return back, Tourist visa for the elderly is pretty much a slam dunk for approval. Once you get that old you have all the ties in the world to return home.
  7. You can Fed Ex a letter to the Embassy in Islamabad, Make it your withdrawl letter and have it Fed Ex to Islamabad, Send your back up documentation with it as well. You should get a letter back from the Embassy/Consulate Section saying "the approval of an immigrant or fiance petition is automatically revoked upon: The Formal notice of withdrawl filed by the petitioner. Letter take about 30 to 45 days to show up at your place via US Mail.
  8. I fly quit a bit, I find this statement to be incorrect Go to Delta Website and put in from DFW (Dallas USA) to MNL (Manila Philippines) on January 12th, round trip is like $1,573 and One way is around $850. I myself when flying dont see a one way more expensive than round trip. Flight Results : Find & Book Airline Tickets : Delta Air Lines
  9. When I did mine, USCIS was using ACCO Binders, So I matched them.
  10. Her current education would be worthless in USA, He would of just put her in law school in USA. I was just wondering if her current education would provide anything good in USA. Only lawyer I know that left Philippines went to Canada and she went to work for a immigration company that provided visas for Canada.
  11. So do you want him to lie? Honest is always the best policy, Nothing wrong with someone else paying for your trip especially if your still in school.
  12. Keep it professional and keep the small talk out of it. Just give the facts only.
  13. My nephew moved to Philippines before the pandemic hit and put his Pinay wife into law school there, She recently graduated and pass the bar in Philippines after 3 plus years. She had a Master in Business already. I am aware US and Philippines law schools are based on different critera, and she would more than likely have to repeat law school in USA to sit for bar in Texas, but did she gain anything by getting her bar card in Philippines, other than being able to work as a law professional there. Degree like nursing you can basically take test like NCLEX and work as RN in USA if you have the requirement for each state. I am not sure how long he will survive in Philippines, I figured he would of gotten kicked out of the country or got bored and came back to USA, He pretty much sold his house and a couple of rental properties he had in USA. When he does decide to come back to USA with her, Did she gain anything he decides to return to the USA?
  14. Not really, Have you been a CO officer? What Embassy or Consulate did you work at? What do you base this on? Have you or your family done a Tourist visa? OP appears to be young, it is quite common for others to pay for a trip if you are young or elderly, the CO's know this, this is common knowledge. When my MIL did her recent Tourist Visa the CO asked whom was paying, it wasn't a a negative factor.
  15. Same here my MIL is like family She got just got approved for Tourist Visa from Philippines, I haven't seen her in person in years, she has been very good to me and took great care of me when I visited and first met her daughter and family the first time, they even allowed me to stay in their home and had a bathroom added onto the house so I would have my own bathroom and stand up shower so I would be comfortable. She will be coming to Texas in March and I will get her and open ended ticket and right now plan is for her to stay for a couple months, but if weather doesn't get too toasty I may extend her stay another month.
  16. Just tell them who is paying for your trip, no biggie. We just got approved for a Tourist Visa for my wife mother in law in Philippines, they asked her whom is paying for her trip, she answered we (Me and my wife) was paying. Just answer the questions they ask, don't provide extra comments, or try to make small talk. I thought you said you had a previous Tourist Visa, did they ask you about funding for your trip before? Or were you a youth?
  17. Apply for a Tourist Visa it only cost $185, To get an answer. Here is the general rule I have found: The Rich and Old get easily approved, the rest don't Good Luck and please update after interview.
  18. Why do you make a comment like that? Why is he brave for a MIL to visit?
  19. Did I say it was new? I said recently
  20. The I-129F whole process is much more difficult. You have to get paperwork from their country and get it shipped to the USA, You have to visit the forgein country, show evidence you visited, etc and then you get to go attend a actual Visa Interview to get approved. You do the I-485 and send in paperwork you already have and then most likely no interiew and approved. Major difference and I-485 is overall a much simple and easier process.
  21. I have her I 485 paperwork in front of me now, it looks about the same. I personally handled the I-129F myself, once it got to rest of the paperwork I handed it off to my wife, it's simple and she needed to learn how to deal with US based and US Paperwork, it was a good learning for her, I just scanned it over, and signed the check. She must of done good, no AOS Inteview and approved.
  22. I have her I-485 in front of me now. It looks about as thick as the I-129F. She did all those forms EAD/AP add G325A The I 485 application has much more than one page
  23. I had my wife do it, Seems rather straight forward and rather easy DYI. My job was to get the K1 approved, which I found to be a rather simple DYI project as well. I get a good laugh from some of the people especially if they used like a "Lawyer" to fill out their paperwork, or even a agency. You gonna do most of the work anyways, I am not gonna pay someone to fill out simple paperwork and mail something, I want complete control of the whole process.
  24. I just looked it over and I think I had to sign it, but compared to the K1, it looked alot less complicated and less questions and less paperwork.
